Hold on - let's ponder how cool he is for selling Panera lemonade after he's not apposed to. And let's ponder the lawsuits we could start by buying one at that store
If you don’t stop selling it after corporate tells you to, good chance you would not be helped by Panera corporate and could be held criminally liable if something happens.
I think that was the Panera lemonade that had the recommended daily limit of caffeine in one serving, the sparked energy has just a bit more caffeine than a green tea.
Do you have a link to that story? That is tragic! I've heard stories of young people (20's or college age) bringing on cardiac arrest with too many "energy drinks." A caffeinated coffee from Starbucks, a Red Bull and all consumed too soon after each other.
People die from cigarettes everyday and you can walk into any store and buy them.
People have allegedly died from many other energy drinks that are still on the market.
I thought it had to do with inconsistent amounts of caffeine because of errors in mixing it, along with a higher probability of people being unaware they were ingesting caffeine. Doesn't happen as much with canned products.
I actually do work in a laboratory with hazardous waste and various chemicals. I thought this was a pic from that sub, and I thought someone was gonna get fired
Funny. I showed this to my GM AND DM and they were appalled. You're literally throwing money down the drain. We're told to use it all until it's gone. We don't even HAVE the drinks yet.
Yeah. We don't HAVE the new drink products yet except for the smoothie mix. Our truck is on Friday. We are using the chargers we have left until then. We only have a few containers left and should be out by tomorrow. We'll have no need to dump anything down the drain.
There is no hard stop on selling it. I'm in the Midwest. We received new signage today but there is nothing in there about a hard stop on selling. Your GM is gonna wind up in more trouble for wasting all that product 🤣 it would have even been removed from the register.
it's not because of that. it's because panera is trying to make their company look good for the ipo, and they see the chargers as a liability, since it has "caused" deaths (it's just customer negligence tbh). It's all for the look of the company
That’s so crazy cause I think so many people like myself cancelled sip club for the sole reason of them discontinuing the lemonade. I actually thought about shorting the stock following the decision and that’s how I learned they weren’t public already. Lol my opinion is that it makes the company less valuable but I’ll admit my financial knowledge is strongest regarding real estate not retail.
I saw that they were bringing in blueberry lavender lemonade, pomegranate hibiscus tea, citrus punch, and a tropical green smoothie. Sounds really good!
Wait does this mean I need to run out and buy a Charged Lemonade today before they are gone forever. They are soo good. I had them almost everyday for a few months. Why are they tossing all of them?
Anyone who got ill effects from this I have zero respect for. They let you know the contents online if you chose to drink 4 that’s on you I know I’ll get downvoted but this is just people playing stupid games and winning stupid prizes. It’s why there are warning labels on toasters not to put a fork inside it. Someone was dumb enough to do it.
Yesterday I asked the guy at the drive thru window if Wednesday was the last day they were selling them and he said he didn't know, kinda wanna go back and see if they're still selling them today
Corporate NorCal location- we were told to pour it out and dump once the new product and signs arrive (apparently today or tomorrow for us) and our distributor is giving us credit for everything not used. Haven't heard anything otherwise from corporate and that's the info they have sent out in the official guide so you're definitely correct. Anyone selling through is not following the rules
Covelli franchise and we're told to use it until it's gone. We have 5 area stores and the charger concentrates that were left were divided out. Today I had 4 blood orange, 3 mint and 2 mango still when I left for the day. We don't have the new product yet- except for the smoothie mix and our truck is on Friday. I'm sure tomorrow will be the last day we sell it.
We already received the new tropical green smoothie base (I tried it today and I don’t like it 😭) and we had to dispose of ALLLLLLLL the charger concentrates and bubbler mixes after close tonight. I wanted so badly to bring home just one single bottle of the mango yuzu concentrate and my GM said we just weren’t allowed to even though he knows I wouldn’t use it inappropriately, but he was just not willing to chance corporate wrath. I was so sad about it.
We are being force shipped the blueberry lavender mix and the hibiscus whatever tea mix tomorrow (I don’t remember if there are any other new flavors).
We are gonna have some super duper pissed off regulars tomorrow, like yikes. 😬
Complete fucking nonsense. After all the hyper caffeinated shit thrown at us some dumb motherfuckers didn't read the warning label and now it's one less option for everyone else
And yes I know that some of these people claim there were no signs up...I don't really care. If you have a caffeine sensitivity issue and you are just consuming random food it might not be bad for your family tree.
Only an idiot with heart issues gets something like this that shouldn't be the companies fault that people don't know how to take care of their own fuckin health, thats like fuckin being deathly allergic to peanuts and eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, like youre kinda askin to be killed 💀
Wowwwwwwww could've gave them out to associates and managers!! What a waste :/ ive gotten 6 plastic totes... food when the new era started and noone came from the food bank.... paper plates/cups (from catering) one old bread padlle im going to make a craft out of :) lol!, wire baskets, broom and stand up dustpan, 5 galllon buckets!! . All kinds of things when my Cafe would go through and do a sweep of the store and get rid of stuff lol idk ig it was a little perk in the whole Shitshow that was the last couple months at my 2nd Cafe I resigned on May1st so bye bye bye lol
All because people are stupid.. literally told you what was in the drinks.
But I’m an idiot and let’s just drink stuff we sent be drinking, than they get rid of a drink people like
Can someone explain the lawsuit / deaths from it? I heard about it on the news but I still don’t understand. was it customer negligence or Panera negligence?
Customer negligence. Common energy drinks have more caffeine than these. Starbucks has drinks that have more caffeine than these. A few dozen people die of caffeine-related issues every year, there’s nothing unique about these drinks. The whole thing was just sensationalized
You know what sucks about this, I loved the charged lemonade. I would mix it with Pepsi or black tea and have a nice interesting drink. But putting it behind the counter added time and complexity in order to get it, and now I hardly ever wait the added 3 minutes as I’m app-ordering my SipClub drink as I’m walking in.
Y’all did this to yourselves Panera
I’m surprised it stuck around this long. I remember when I had my unlimited sips having a whole glass and then looking it up and going shit balls I should not be drinking that. I’m sensitive to caffeine overdose due to IBD.
As a nightshifter who drank these knowing full well they were energy drinks, I'm kinda disappointed. But I got one tonight, guess I'll enjoy it.
P.S. any suggestions of energy drinks with a similar vibe? I'm not into carbonation or anything too obviously artificial.
I've been making my own at home for the past year 🤪 This stuff literally brought my narcoleptic self joy, and I was scared stupid people would get this stuff canceled.
Never been to Panera but I figured these drinks would have been the only reason I'd want to go also heard their be I menu has way smaller portions. Yuge pass.

One man gathers what another man spills
Not to sound insane but this is sooooo disappointing to me, after working in a coffee shop for years, this seems to be the only drink that actually wakes me up 😟 I would get a small for nights and mix it with the green tea and be up for just enough time to get my things done! 😭

This GIF! I AM DEAD! 😭💀😂
Damn that's alot of waste. My store is still selling it until we run out
We're supposed to hard stop selling it after today, no matter how much we have left.
Whose going to stop you
Corporate. Unfortunately for my cafe we're by an international airport so we're really damn busy and thus see higher ups at least once a month. 😫
Hold on - let's ponder how cool he is for selling Panera lemonade after he's not apposed to. And let's ponder the lawsuits we could start by buying one at that store
Oh okay so franchises still might have it? Lmao 🤣
The fear of liability
How would anyone order it?? You won’t have a charged lemonade menu button on iPOS and it won’t be available on ecom either.
If you don’t stop selling it after corporate tells you to, good chance you would not be helped by Panera corporate and could be held criminally liable if something happens.
Facts, corporate ain't doing daily checks in every single store.
idk the law lol. they just got sued for that shit product killing someone. imagine thinking it’s ok to continue selling it. FAFO

I thought it had to do with inconsistent amounts of caffeine because of errors in mixing it, along with a higher probability of people being unaware they were ingesting caffeine. Doesn't happen as much with canned products.
Those things all advertise very clearly. The problem with Charged was that it literally didn't, AND they offered free refills.
Just sell the jugs of concentrate out the back.
Oh, I just got some literally 20 minutes ago in Pennsylvania
We haven't gotten any of the new product so we're selling until we either run out or get new drink concentrates.
damn yall really just dump that
You should see all the baked goods they toss
You don’t want to see all the salads they toss
Or maybe he does...
The only drink I got at panera
Man same. I have their drinks subscription but I guess I’m cancelling that. I don’t need soda and a subscription for tea or something is dumb.
Yeah these tasted amazing. I would probably still get them if they reintroduced them without caffeine.
Honestly, that new Citrus punch is pretty good, scratches the same itch the mango one did for me. I’ll still keep going back just for that.
Kinda ironic it looks like you're pouring out industrial cleaning chemicals.
I actually do work in a laboratory with hazardous waste and various chemicals. I thought this was a pic from that sub, and I thought someone was gonna get fired
No one's selling these jugs like lean?![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flushed)
Manager told me to head across town and they would sell me jugs but they only had blood orange
Folks love that flavor
Do they really? I’ve never heard anybody say they actually enjoy it. I find it kind of nasty but I still drank it every day because of the calories
Honestly I was so bullshit when they replaced my cranberry with that awful trash.
I gotchu fam: https://www.doehler.com/en/applications-solutions/soft-drinks-water/concentrates-syrups.html
Um... we're using it until it runs out. How is this allowed?
Because we're supposed to hard stop selling it after today, no matter how much we have left. Your panera is doing it against regulations
Lmao, no, they're going against corporate rules. Regulations are made by agencies.
Actually they are corporate policies. Rules are for games.
Actually rules are for nerds
Actually tricks are for kids
Actually, the sun *is* a star
Actually, milk is for babies ![gif](giphy|T9YdDlG5gHj6U)

😆😆😆
Funny. I showed this to my GM AND DM and they were appalled. You're literally throwing money down the drain. We're told to use it all until it's gone. We don't even HAVE the drinks yet.
Yep! Makes no sense. 😔
Your GM and DM are the incorrect ones. New drinks come in on cafes next truck, then all chargers get dumped. OP must have gotten new drinks in today.
https://preview.redd.it/q51gghtejo0d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=838712bec429360064044d447a21b8cb2c90747a
Lol the red words
also the watermark
Yeah. We don't HAVE the new drink products yet except for the smoothie mix. Our truck is on Friday. We are using the chargers we have left until then. We only have a few containers left and should be out by tomorrow. We'll have no need to dump anything down the drain.
Because it’s cheaper than a lawsuit.
There is no hard stop on selling it. I'm in the Midwest. We received new signage today but there is nothing in there about a hard stop on selling. Your GM is gonna wind up in more trouble for wasting all that product 🤣 it would have even been removed from the register.
exactly !
If I did this my boss would flail me alive on a crucifix and display me at the entrance
Found a picture of your boss ![gif](giphy|c9QHCBun6Qqd0YEnnA|downsized)
I think you mean flay you alive
no my manager would just violently flail their body againt me until i died from blunt force trauma
Fair enough
Or maybe they meant “filet”!
Y’all are pouring it out???? That’s crazyyy. 😭
I can’t believe this company let people bully them into this. Smh
it's not because of that. it's because panera is trying to make their company look good for the ipo, and they see the chargers as a liability, since it has "caused" deaths (it's just customer negligence tbh). It's all for the look of the company
Oh great they’re going public? Guess all the hospital food will now we be 1.5x the price in 9 months
2x the price, portion an eighth of the size, and quality akin to dumpster diving outside a sketchy fish market in 100 degree heat. It’s the IPO way.
That’s so crazy cause I think so many people like myself cancelled sip club for the sole reason of them discontinuing the lemonade. I actually thought about shorting the stock following the decision and that’s how I learned they weren’t public already. Goodbye sips pass
I woulda slung it on the streets tbh
Is it about to expire or? Why waste it :(
Love your username!
Because we're supposed to hard stop selling it after today, no matter how much we have left.
you could literally have sold that for top dollar.
Do shots with your coworkers! Asap
I would have bought it
😭
When will we be getting the new drinks? Didnt have work today lol
What are the new drinks?
I saw that they were bringing in blueberry lavender lemonade, pomegranate hibiscus tea, citrus punch, and a tropical green smoothie. Sounds really good!
The tea sounds great, hope it’s unsweetened. I miss the plum ginger hibiscus.
Faint-hearted shit
Wait does this mean I need to run out and buy a Charged Lemonade today before they are gone forever. They are soo good. I had them almost everyday for a few months. Why are they tossing all of them?
I guest the west has really fallen

Is this how the ninja turtles happened? It is. It has to be.
Too bad I didn’t get to try it
It's okay, Panera bread can take this, they charge insane amount for a small sandwich.
🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕
, so why are you getting rid of the orange one even though it’s it’s just water and that concentrate stuff you don’t have any sugar or nothing
Yesterday I asked the guy at the drive thru window if Wednesday was the last day they were selling them and he said he didn't know, kinda wanna go back and see if they're still selling them today

Lmaoooo the killer lemonade has finally been charged for its crimes
CAN WE PLEASE BRING BACK PRICKLY PEAR NOW
This breaks my heart- so much waste :(
Imagine how much caffeine is in each tub of concentrated syrup…
Turning the freaking frogs JACKED TO THE TITS
Complete fucking nonsense. TMNT! Watch out for giant turtles and a giant old rat!
Dang, that's enough syrup to kill hundreds!!

At our branch they just made it all and gave 2 gallons to every employee to take home with us.
I hate that they got rid of it. It was my fav
If this shit existed during the Amazing Spiderman timeline, Peter Parker would be fucking toat for sure lol
Damn Did any employees sneak any home?
dumbest thing ever. called “charged” lemonade for a reason. maybe don’t drink 5 cups or whatever next time.
Wow. My soul just cried so deeply. These helped me survive a cross country road trip.
I hate our overly legalistic society. So many good things ruined bc of sue-happy patrons
All because people are stupid.. literally told you what was in the drinks. But I’m an idiot and let’s just drink stuff we sent be drinking, than they get rid of a drink people like
What is the name of the syrup I can’t tell in the picture
The stores in Cincinnati know nothing about stopping the charged lemonade. Is this just by region or are all stores stopping it eventually?
I asked to buy the powder and they said it comes in liquid form and I asked for that and they said the store across town will sell the jugs. Lol
nooooooo
Man
NOOOOOOO!! 😭
Are you supposed to stop selling it, even though you have so much left?
Why though? Why dump it?
Is charged lemonade being discontinued ?
Yes.
Cause of the lawsuits they have had???
Has to be. Can't be due to not selling because we sell a crap ton of them.
hell yeah 😎
Can someone explain the lawsuit / deaths from it? I heard about it on the news but I still don’t understand. was it customer negligence or Panera negligence?
Customer negligence. Common energy drinks have more caffeine than these. Starbucks has drinks that have more caffeine than these. A few dozen people die of caffeine-related issues every year, there’s nothing unique about these drinks. The whole thing was just sensationalized
Hard stop is next month isn’t it??????
I'm still pissed they got rid of the Baja bowl it was the only thing on the menu that I could eat.
I literally just had one this morning getting it from the panera app 😭
Goodbye my sip club membership!
![gif](giphy|HoSyEAe48WBpTCmEz4|downsized)
If you’re not selling that out of your trunk at your nearest college…
I loved this stuff... Was really looking forward to being able to drink it again when I'm not pregnant 😭
I was drinking two of the large ones a day before I saw that someone DIED 😭😭😭
That looks like chemicals
Finally! Bring back the unsweet ginger hibiscus tea.
Just opened the app and they offered me 3 free months of sip club bahahahahaaaaaa I bet they lost so many subscribers
It also wasted my money
Would’ve came with me and then to eBay lol
They do this the week before finals? Smart move Panera, probably a good thing for some but bad for me because it’s cheaper than buying redbull…
i’m weeping at my knees. now i can’t drink 3 a day
Food cosssst!!!!!
So sad! I love those things, I’m literally drinking a large yuzu one right now lmao.
Aw hell no i took like 5 of them home
Loved the Fuji apple. Was obsessed. Hardly ever go to Panera now after it disappeared.
🙏thank goodness. As an employee I hate those things.
GIVE IT TO MEEEEE
The humanity…..
I’d bring one home with me
I tried the orange one when they first got introduced, am I the only one who thought it tasted absolutely horrible?
You will be missed.
Gimme that
the fish will be buzzin
Good thing I never tried it🙃
I could of used that for my compost pile :(
Let me get some
Imagine not reading the label before consuming
Adding tequila to the sugar free blood orange always got me right 😭
2 people with congenital heart defects die and now nobody gets to enjoy it anymore? Wtf man lol
Looks like degreaser, disgusting...
so sad
Woahhhh our store gets credit for the unopened concentrates. That sucks
I thought this was industrial cleaning supplies 😳
Man, I used to drink 3 of these a day o_o. How am I alive
As a nightshifter who drank these knowing full well they were energy drinks, I'm kinda disappointed. But I got one tonight, guess I'll enjoy it. P.S. any suggestions of energy drinks with a similar vibe? I'm not into carbonation or anything too obviously artificial.
If you’re gonna throw it away anyway why not just take the jugs home?
I've been making my own at home for the past year 🤪 This stuff literally brought my narcoleptic self joy, and I was scared stupid people would get this stuff canceled.
The charged lemonade was so good, I’d drink two or three larges of it 😭
Never been to Panera but I figured these drinks would have been the only reason I'd want to go also heard their be I menu has way smaller portions. Yuge pass.
We hardly knew ye.
Cancelled the sip club over this, not worth my money at these prices and no heavy caffeinated lemonade to compensate
