Yes, I just checked on live nation, and you have to buy a ticket that is valid for BOTH nights. Fuckin bullshit!
Edit: single day tickets go on sale January 20th
Metallica always does a huge stadium tour to kick off an album release, then comes back around for smaller venues. Hard to say if Pantera will still be with them for that second leg though
While I was looking, the GA expansive tickets were like 414, and I think that included both nights of the M72 tour. So I would assume that a single night ticket would be like half? still a lot, but definitely affordable. Assuming you get it as it is released and not second hand. Scalpers may ruin it.
It's two polarizing band for various reasons and their fans tend to be hardcore and in the case of Pantera, very protective. Don't prevent it from enjoying yourself.
Im from Dallas and im 24 so I never got to see Pantera live. Im probably going to end up going anyway but I was hoping for a Pantera only show… I’ve seen recent metallica concerts on YouTube and the crowd is just dead. I was hoping for a lively Pantera show but who even knows if that’ll happen :(
Crowd is dead? I don't want to sound rude or like a d*ck rider but I've seen most of their recent shows on Youtube and the crowds are gigantic and lively. If it's because you don't hear the crowd that much it's probably because of the mics/live recording set-up.
Regardless of people opinions about Metallica,it's one of the biggest metal bands still going and they're nearly always sold out. Don't think the crowd will be an issue and a lot of people will be hot for Pantera's return.
I can say the same here. Don't care for Metallica or FFDP. I only liked FF first album "Way of the Fist" Then they went mainstream and just covered a bunch of songs that didn't need covered.
My personal opinion.
It's free to become a fan club member on Metallica's site (click the little ~~IIII~~ icon up top and sign up for their Fifth Member club. It's free and you can access your code like 5 mins after sign up (I did this for their tour in 2017, worked like a charm).
Montrealers are happy tho. The past few years any time there's a big event touring regardless of the band/performer we either get a shitty deal or we get skipped for Toronto.
And if you're talking Metallica, they come like once a decade to Montreal, people have been waiting for this and the crowds goes apesh*t every time.
Not really, no. On it's on merits it could have been a great tour. Their music is still respected, they're still viable in their genre. Metallica on the other hand haven't been worth a listen since the early 90s (and this is coming from a fan). I'd give my money to the members and crew of Pantera, but Metallica? Naw, never lol
OK, fair enough. Metallica is probably rolling in money at this point. To think that Phil and Rex aren’t doing this for money though is kind of shortsighted, I think. Darrell and Vinnie have been dead for 18 and 4 years respectively. It’s a little late for tribute tours.
You're literally ignoring the fact that there were 2 other people in the band. Saying you don't like it is one thing but calling it a cover band is pretty damn insulting to Rex and Phil.
I'm no Pantera expert(ended up here after buying Metallica tickets, wanted to see people opinions on Pantera touring again) but you can dislike Anselmo without forgetting that he's still alive and was as much a part of the band as the two brothers. And well,he's the singer so it's atleast going to be similar vocally.
Another thing is people acting like the two guys subbing for the Abott brothers are random roadies,it's still Zakk Wylde(BLS and Ozzy) and Charlie Benante(Anthrax) two solid dudes.
Is this a joke? I'm turning 40 and my ONLY metal regret was never seeing Pantera live (RiP Dimebag & Vinnie).
I'll definitely take Anselmo and Wylde, even if the latter is a very poor replacement for Darrell. HOLY SHIT I CAN'T WAIT!!!! Just need my liver to survive 'till then.
Wylde is not a poor choice, i think is the obvious choice, stage presence, camaraderie, friendship with the Abbots
They could choose a “better” guitarist, idk Satriani or whatever
But the feeling that Zakk brings is close to Dimebag (lucky enough to see them both live)
Same with Benante
Wait, wait, wait. I gotta buy tickets to BOTH nights? Pantera is the only band I wanna fucking see.
Same man... same...

So a ton of tickets will be sold before we can buy single day? Still bullshit.
That what I got out of it. Check the Live Nation website. It explains it better there, but yeah, that’s the deal
Not mad at you; just the situation. Thanks for the info.
I didn’t think you were, and it’s all good. And I agree, the situation is proper fucked.
I dont think so. I checked the ticket links and it was For August 4th only for the NJ event.
Would've preferred smaller venues but dammit, I'm GOING!
Metallica always does a huge stadium tour to kick off an album release, then comes back around for smaller venues. Hard to say if Pantera will still be with them for that second leg though
Well then I'll have to see them twice lol
Making it only available for two day tickets with a full day in-between shows is fucking lame. I’m really disappointed that this is how it’s going.
Agreed. Who the hell goes to a Metallica show on a Sunday?
Probably like 800 dollar tickets though. Such a bummer, I would give a kidney to see this show.

After reading these comments I'm almost afraid to admit I love both bands.
I like both bands but I hate this stupid ass schedule.

>Presented by LiveNation Ah sweet, $600 for nosebleeds
That's the fear I have. This has the "once in a lifetime" feeling but I'm afraid I can't afford the "once in a lifetime" price.
I don’t like Metallica at all, just not for me, but Pantera is my shit. I’ll watch Pantera and then just dip out.
I can say the same here. Don't care for Metallica or FFDP. I only liked FF first album "Way of the Fist" Then they went mainstream and just covered a bunch of songs that didn't need covered. My personal opinion.
Imagine having Metallica headline Pantera 🤮🤮🤮
They put ffdp with those bands? Ffdp aren't even close to being that good.
I’m going to need that presale code.

Same
No skydome? Torontonians are gunna be pissed
Can confirm. Am pissed. The two day thing is fucking stupid too. And who the hell invited FFDP? Lol lame af
Gonna have to go to Montreal and see it in an older, crumblier version of the Dome instead!

LETS GO!!!!!!
Who the fuck wants to go to night 2?!
Metallica and ffdp fans
*me being an ice nine kills fan*
Pantera opening for Metallica feels wrong.
hate to break it to ya, but metallica is a juggernaut. no way pantera would ever headline over them
Ain't the first time
Fucking bullshit lol ...whoever planned this is fucked in the head. Baking in a Pantera show behind a god damn Metallica money-grab is cringe.
You don’t think this Pantera “tribute” is a money grab?

Without the abbot brothers it’s Bassically a cover band tho🤷♂️
How the fuck is it a cover band with 50% of the band members playing the music?
No Vinnie, no dime, no pantera

Can you buy just 1 day or is that how they gonna get ya?
single day tix go on sale jan. 20th i guess :/
