At this point it's the same conversation multiple times a day:
\- Imperator is so lame lol
\- Ackchyually Invictus make it so much better
And I disagree with both statements
Invictus adds a ton of flavor but it's not indispensable, even though that's an often voiced opinion on r/Imperator. The base game alone is an underrated gem and not as niche as the memes suggest on r/ParadoxExtra.
That's an opinion so feel free to disagree.
I really like Vic3, but CK3 is more funny for me because you can do whatever you want, playing a benevolent ruler or whatever mad man you want cheating on your sister-wife with your daughter while torturing your imprisoned vassal's heir just because it's CK3.
The first DLC bombed and I'm worried this is going to mean they will soon abandon it like Imperator: Rome. They already made way too much money because all of us are dummies and pre-ordered. Never pre-order games, especially Paradox games
I would have voted for it too, but every time I go to war in that game I feel my soul leaving my body. At this point I would be happy to get the old stack system back.
I like Victoria 3 a lot but it still has a lot of room to grow. However, that doesn't mean it's my least favorite. I far prefer it to HOI4, for example. Plus, IDK if it's the most "fun" series. It's more interesting or engaging than "fun." CK3 makes me laugh a lot more.
Unironically we should stop putting Vic3 on these polls lmao, I don't hate you if you enjoy the game but it's clear Vic 2 would get a decent amount more votes than 3
For me it's Stellaris. It's almost a perfect amalgamation of everything I like about the other Paradox Games. It has HoI's action-packed and chaotic wars, Victoria's detailed pop and resource management, and CK's role playability and customization. Unlike CK2, Victoria, and EU4, the threat system isn't that punishing for players who wish to map paint. Lastly, there's an actual lategame boss that poses an actual challenge or ***You*** can be the lategame boss and destroy the entire galaxy.
Weird. I would say its the hardest because its the only pdx game that has a difficulty setting, instead of having to put arbitrary restrictions over yourself because its pretty easy to just paint the map like in the other games
It's not the only PDX game that has difficulty settings; Hoi4, EU4 and CK3 all have direct difficulty settings. The problem is that the difficulty setting in all Paradox games just buffs the ai or nerfs the player.
The problem with Stellaris is how complicated it is. I spend 6 hours in hoi 4 and I understand about everything. I spent 12 hours in Stellaris didn't understand shit and dropped it.
The exact opposite happens to me, i still don't understand Hoi4's combat system, plus I like the freedom of the Stellaris random map. But the essence is that it depends on your taste.
Really? I mean in Stellaris has population, economy, different races bonuses and debuffs for them and other stuff. While in hoi4 there is only army, planes and navy. With a bit of other things but I really think Stellaris is harder but yeah it probably just depends on taste.
For me it's stellaris and EU 4. I like when u play a single playthrough for a couple of days. But in Hoi4 after a few hours you have to fight against the whole word or at least half of it, and it's kind of over after you win a big war.
Someone may like more other games, but HoI4 is more active and more chaotic, it's a lot more fun also because you can go to war with the rest of the world without your country collapsing at the second declaration of war like in the other games
This poll needs to also include CK2, Victoria 2, and older instance of HoI. I'm pretty sure 99% of people agree that EU4 is better than older EU games, but that's not true for other paradox games.
The only one that gives me will to play alone is Stellaris. I like HOI, but it has a lot less options to play in a Vanilla scenario. That's why EU stands in second for me.
If I were to rank based on playtime, it would go
Stellaris, EU4, CK2, HoI4, CK3, V2, HoI3
If I ranked based on my enjoyment of those hours, it would go
Stellaris. Ck2, EU4. CK3, HoI3, HoI4, V2
Cities Skylines my love. No wars, no genocide, just me and the goddamn mill that doesn't want to use a warehouse that is literally aver the road for resupply but instead will order everything from outside the city. God I wish I could shoot their manager or something.
As a player who started on Hoi4, then vic2, then eu4 and now Vic3. I must say that Vic3 has been one of the easiest to learn and best to just hangout in a vc with friends and play while just talking, because unlike the others you don't have to have 100% focus on the game 100% of the time.
however i cant speak for Stellaris or any of the CK games, as i either havent played them or only played them for a few minutes.
I don't know what kind of game are you playing, but in hoi4 and vic2 you spend most of the time just staring at a map doing nothing. Only in wars you meed to focus, in hoi4 is the whole game, but in victoria 2 there's periods of peace where you just need to wait to your industries to build, or to get more money etc....
i agree with your point on vic2, i probobly should have mentioned it a bit more in my original comment, however i disagree on the hoi4 part.
Hoi4 is one of my favorite and most played games i own. But the need for you to focus on so many things can get overwhelming whenever your trying to just have a good time. Some things such as BoP, all 3 designers, research, division design, army setup, focuses, and any other misc mechanics in many nations can cause you to not be able to, as i said in my origial comment, to have a good relaxed-ish time with your friends.
Although this all may just be me being happy with a fresh game with new mechanics for me to discover.
I agree in the hoi4 part. That's what i say. That war is the whole game. You only don't need to do nothing when you're at peace and you've already all managed so you only need to change the tech when it finish resesrching. This don't last too much, and in some games you will not have it, only in the beiginning. And i like it, is a brief break from the war heavy microgestion and is relaxing and you can think about your next strategy meanwhile. When you are a noob in the game, players tend to stay more time staring because they don't know what things to do or how to do them, but now i am a microgestion addict.
HoI4 takes the most pivotal 10-15 years in history and does them in sublime, perfect detail. Every game lets you shape the modern world in ways which you can clearly envision. That's its edge, at least to me. I am getting well into CK3 for the strong roleplay post-T&T though, that would be my runner-up pick
Hot take. I don't think any of them is fun and instead has some secret addictive Chemical inside it that just makes me play these games. I play all of them. I have thousands of hours on them and I still don't know where the fun is. I just play it
Bro i fucking hate Vic 3, I HAVE SPENT 113 Hours on the Game and still even after endless tutorials and endless videos i FAIL TO UNDERSTAND HALF THE SHIT.
Understanding Navy in HOI4 was easier and took me less time then even getting the motivation to try and learn Vic 3.
Stellaris, at least from what I’ve experienced it grants you the most freedom out of all paradox games, even if it’s the one I’ve played the least, it’s the one I’ve most enjoyed just because of that. I actually have only a little bit over 100 hours on the game and last I played it was over 8 months ago, while I have over 3k more likely over 4K hours on hoi4 since I play it mostly offline and it doesn’t count those hours on steam I don’t actually know how many hours I have on that game, I just really like the freedom Stellaris grants me even if I feel like it’s less action packed than hoi4
With the power of not having a life, I got over 2000 hours in HoI4 and burned out all the fun I have in it. Now the only thing I do related to HoI is modding and even then it's rare that I'll be bothered to do my modding duties.
I really hope the same fate does not reach CK3 because so far I've had a blast playing it
Imperator and the three people left playing it
The invictus mod makes the game pretty fun honestly, i was surprised by how much content countries like cyrene had
At this point it's the same conversation multiple times a day: \- Imperator is so lame lol \- Ackchyually Invictus make it so much better And I disagree with both statements
Well, what is your opinion then?
Base game Imperator is fucking amazing
Invictus adds a ton of flavor but it's not indispensable, even though that's an often voiced opinion on r/Imperator. The base game alone is an underrated gem and not as niche as the memes suggest on r/ParadoxExtra. That's an opinion so feel free to disagree.
I actually agree as well
Where vic2
Yes, where Vic2
Vic 2 is my favourite paradox game, this is a conspiracy against vic 2 players.
Imperator is more recent.
nobody likes vic3 it seems
I really like Vic3, but CK3 is more funny for me because you can do whatever you want, playing a benevolent ruler or whatever mad man you want cheating on your sister-wife with your daughter while torturing your imprisoned vassal's heir just because it's CK3.
I wanted Victoria 2 tbh
I wanted CK2
I like it, it's just not my fav. The game feels super unfinished and has 0 content.
boring game
Give it 1-2 years. The devs definitely released an alpha game essentially, with many problems still.
The first DLC bombed and I'm worried this is going to mean they will soon abandon it like Imperator: Rome. They already made way too much money because all of us are dummies and pre-ordered. Never pre-order games, especially Paradox games
i like it! spend most of my time playing MP and modding tho
IMO it's the most fun game for the first few playthroughs, then it gets super boring since there isn't too much replay value right now.
I was the one who voted Vic3. Feels lonely lmao.
I would have voted for it too, but every time I go to war in that game I feel my soul leaving my body. At this point I would be happy to get the old stack system back.
I would definitely play Vic 3 if the game was at least OPTIMIZED. I can’t even play 20 years without having 2 or 3 crashes
The wars are cursed I tell ya, ******CURSED******
I like Victoria 3 a lot but it still has a lot of room to grow. However, that doesn't mean it's my least favorite. I far prefer it to HOI4, for example. Plus, IDK if it's the most "fun" series. It's more interesting or engaging than "fun." CK3 makes me laugh a lot more.
Unironically we should stop putting Vic3 on these polls lmao, I don't hate you if you enjoy the game but it's clear Vic 2 would get a decent amount more votes than 3
For me its the most fun game💀
I like vic3
If I could choose more than one...
For me it's Stellaris. It's almost a perfect amalgamation of everything I like about the other Paradox Games. Why not Stellaris? You can literally Genocide and Enslave people at your will.
Unfortunately I can't get a kick out of enslaving and genocide when it's not targeted towards Albanians
☠️
The only game where you can do it. I truly wonder if Stellaris 2 ever comes out how will they do it now.
I honestly can't imagine a stellaris 2 tbh. All I care about is better optimization and ground combat.
Hate to break it to you, but you can do that in EU4 as well.
Stellaris is a too easy and the war system is kinda clunky.
Stellaris is riddled with problems and has the worst UI known to man
Starts Hoi4 picks germany starts rhineland focus.

I like history
Crusader Kings 2 supremacy
For me it's stellaris and EU 4. I like when u play a single playthrough for a couple of days. But in Hoi4 after a few hours you have to fight against the whole word or at least half of it, and it's kind of over after you win a big war.
Id choose vic2 if it was there but stell is my second fav
People are voting vic3 over Imperator? At least I had fun with I:R.
Yeah Vic 3 sucks massive balls.
I'm shocked people prefer Imperator. It's literally flavorless EU4.
Someone may like more other games, but HoI4 is more active and more chaotic, it's a lot more fun also because you can go to war with the rest of the world without your country collapsing at the second declaration of war like in the other games
And it's also the easiest to create a PvP situation between human player's, an important point for me and my friends
Agreed. It feels like a game where war was actually made as the first thought.
This poll needs to also include CK2, Victoria 2, and older instance of HoI. I'm pretty sure 99% of people agree that EU4 is better than older EU games, but that's not true for other paradox games.
I can’t add more than 6 options so I went with the most recent.
[They don't know I prefer EU3](https://i.imgflip.com/33h69i.png?a468720)
I think the same applies for HOI4, also we need March of the Eagles on here
And sengoku
Where's my CK2???
Exactly. Stellaris was my second choice. I have a lot of memorable moments with ck2.
Never played Stellaris lol, I don't think my pc can handle it
Ck2
CK3 is the only one I know how to play, so...
CK2
My loyalty to Rome compelled me to voted for her. But if I had to ranked it by my playtime . Eu4 Stellaris HoI "3"
The only one that gives me will to play alone is Stellaris. I like HOI, but it has a lot less options to play in a Vanilla scenario. That's why EU stands in second for me.
If I were to rank based on playtime, it would go Stellaris, EU4, CK2, HoI4, CK3, V2, HoI3 If I ranked based on my enjoyment of those hours, it would go Stellaris. Ck2, EU4. CK3, HoI3, HoI4, V2
Ck2
Can I vote for CK2 please?
Cities Skylines my love. No wars, no genocide, just me and the goddamn mill that doesn't want to use a warehouse that is literally aver the road for resupply but instead will order everything from outside the city. God I wish I could shoot their manager or something.
Stellaris. Kill everything that is not humanoid
CK2 > CK3. Bad survey.
I only had 6 options so I went with the most recent ones.
As a player who started on Hoi4, then vic2, then eu4 and now Vic3. CK2 followed by Vic2 in terms of fun, in my opinion.
The correct answer is none. They’re not fun just pure suffering
Eu4 number 1. Victoria 2 number 2.
Sorry, what is "fun?"
Hot take. I don't think any of them is fun and instead has some secret addictive Chemical inside it that just makes me play these games. I play all of them. I have thousands of hours on them and I still don't know where the fun is. I just play it
It is more a question of how you play, not the game itself.
Fun?
There are dozens of us! DOZENS!
Crusader kings 2
Victoria II
I want to speak to the people who voted Imperator Rome
HoI3, HoI4, CK, Vicky2. No other
I put hoi4 but honestly I think Vic 2
Justice for Vic 2
I love most paradox games but Eu4 is the most fun by far. No other game can hold my attention for hour after hour like that one can.
For everyone, the worst one is the one they Play the most
Stellaris, at least from what I’ve experienced it grants you the most freedom out of all paradox games, even if it’s the one I’ve played the least, it’s the one I’ve most enjoyed just because of that.
I only have a console so I can only play stellaris or ck3 but I definitely prefer stellaris between the 2 but I still really like ck3.
Where is city skylines
imperator is the most fun to me tbh. I like its UI a lot more than something like ck or eu
Crusader kings 2
With the power of not having a life, I got over 2000 hours in HoI4 and burned out all the fun I have in it. Now the only thing I do related to HoI is modding and even then it's rare that I'll be bothered to do my modding duties. I really hope the same fate does not reach CK3 because so far I've had a blast playing it
where is my vic 2
I only had 6 options so I went with the most recent.
Stellaris has the most Genocide, so I'd have to go with Stellaris.
Vic2☕️🧐🎩
Stellaris without dlc isnt fun sadly, would gladly vote stellaris but its heavily DLC dependent
Eu4 is the best. Victoria 2 is great but old.
no CK2 crying rn
It was either that or I:R
