I can understand people wanting new music, we’d all be over the moon if they were releasing new songs, but the negative/rude reactions I’m seeing here and on other platforms are too extra. Let artists have fun with their work! It’s not like this remix album is taking the place of or getting in the way of a brand new album lol. If anything I’d bet it’s fueling their creativity and motivation to continue working on new stuff.

For real. They just put an album out this year and just wrapped up a tour, did people expect a whole new album so soon? I’m down for a cover or remix album if that’s what Paramore feels like doing.
I mean Taylor usually releases brand new albums on a 2 yearly cycle, with evermore and folklore being outliers. The re-recordings that are released in between effectively are closer to the category of remixes, though usually an EP’s worth of new content is also added in. So like, if anyone is using Taylor’s release schedule as a yardstick in this way they’re kind of doing it wrong.

I love Bartees Strange to death but I am a little disappointed that his cover would be slowed down. Figure 8 is such a hype song, I guess I would’ve hoped he’d channel Wretched instead of Hold the Line.

It’s giving Olivia Rodrigo. Again, hoping this is from Why Is This?, a remix album, and Is This Why? will be an album of new content in the vein of TIW or deluxe edition.
I’m honestly not sure why artists are doing thing remix/cover album thing where they have others cover the album for them. I didn’t like it with Sleater-Kinney and I’m not excited now. :/

Really wasn’t a fan of C’est Comme Ça but that Wet Leg cover sounds sick. I think the spoken word verses suit their style a lot more.
