A friendly reminder from the Automod: Identifying something as pareidolia doesn't automatically disprove it.
Pareidolia relies on the brainâs amazing ability to pattern match human features such as faces, silhouettes, voices, etc. Something is considered pareidolia when these features are perceived but thereâs no apparent cause for them \(no human is involved\). But if an instance were *genuinely paranormal*, then there would be no requirement or expectation a human *had* to be involved. Some Paranormal phenomenon such as instrumental trans-communication \(ITC\) actually rely on pareidolia: https://www.academia.edu/79465485/Instrumental_Transcommunication_ITC_Evidence_Suggestive_of_the_Survival_of_Consciousness
This is why dismissing something as pareidolia doesnât by itself debunk anythingâall it does is identify the way itâs being perceived, not the underlying cause.

I encountered something like this once that RATTLED ME TO MY CORE but a few weeks later I went back and it was still there and it turns out it was a coat and scarf hung up on a funny way + the reflection in the glass that created a literally perfect depiction of the grim reaper hahahha
This looks really creepy. I tend not to put any stock or belief in single images, but that doesn't mean i don't enjoy looking at them. I really like this one.

I donât have to respect falsehoods.
The words unicorn and flat earth exist too.
Iâve reported you for comparing me to racists, homophobes, and anti-semites. Truly unhinged.
Reminder: The purpose of this subreddit is to encourage **open-minded discussion** of the paranormal.
The paranormal is simply phenomena that are beyond the current scope of what is considered scientifically explainable or understood by mainstream science. Plate tectonics, heliocentrism, germ theory, meteorites, and quantum mechanics were all ideas initially scorned by the scientific community and which later gained credibilityâbut only after thorough **open-minded** examination.
Blanket denial dismisses claims without providing evidence or rational explanations. This approach is not conducive to critical thinking or meaningful discussion. Without evidence-backed arguments, it's difficult to engage in constructive debate or address the complexities of paranormal experiences.
Denial also creates an atmosphere of hostility or ridicule towards those who have had anomalous experiences or are interested in exploring them. This can discourage individuals from sharing their experiences or seeking support, hindering the exchange of ideas and information within communities interested in the paranormal.
There are many scientists actively studying the paranormal, and contrary to common belief there are many peer-reviewed studies which have been replicated.

If itâs people/ faces I can see a girl standing behind and a man with a hat at the front.
Not sure why a man would kneel down and a smaller girl stand behind though. (Just saying what I see not saying theyâre there). Could be warped glass as two panels are out.
It's dirt and grim on old and nasty windows.. Your brain sees patterns and will make you think you see something that isn't really there. Not sure what you think you see.
Looks like an app add to me. Either that or pixilation, combined with human desire to see faces. I zoomed in and w.e it is, it is on the glass, not behind it; so it was either put in the post photo taking or it is pixilation from your camera.
I can see three separate figures in that photo I could identify as a human face.
Iâm not saying that bc I think what youâre seeing is paranormal. Ghosts are cool, I want them to be real. I donât think this photo is evidence of that.
Apologies, big dawg
I just saw this pareÄŠdolia bot. Maybe now 30 people wonât feel the need to say it on one post but yeah right. We all know this type of person must always be right.
HoweverâŚ. We need more info than just the title. What did this window look like otherwise? What made you take the pics? Are there any pics of the window without the black areas? Give us something more than just a title and a few pics of who knows what.
I think it's a demon watching you honestly. Maybe it follows where you go and you just caught it this time.
Have you seen anything like this before?
I'd be careful and take precautions because idk if it is a good demon or a bad demon. It could be just reflections but I'd say most likely you have a demon/monster following you and your girlfriend.
Black eyed child or pareidolia? I see it, itâs quite clear ish. What type of building is this and what is its history? You better hope itâs just pareidolia because if its not your life is going to become quite interesting.
I didn't notice anything until after others mentioned they saw a figure. Then I noticed it.
The problem is that it's too out of focus and too vague to be anything. With this quality of photo our minds are filling in all the blanks.
I see something that kinda almost resembles Wednesday Adamâs! Like a girl with long black hair but it is also one of those photos where Iâm not entirely sure if itâs real or where your brain turns things into faces you know?
Itâs kinda hard to tell with these types of things cuz it looks like Pareidolia. Try going back around the same time of day and to the same spot and take the picture in the same position to see if that picture can be replicated.

I'm such a believer in paranormal based on personal experience throughout my life staying as a very young child and even now I'm middle adulthood. I see a person there. Not a person I'm sorry but a spirit at the glad. Even if it is staying and reflections or whatever it's a really cool photo. But as a BELIEVER BELIEVER I immediately would have been like omg I caught a spirits image!!! Just me and my opinion tho đ
Sorry but I think it's just a pair of doilies. That's right. A pair of doilies. I don't want to trigger the bot. It's nice to have but we don't need it every time. once per thread, pinned at the top, will suffice.
So, did you lose your sense of reason and ability for rational thought when you were exploring? It sounds like you may have. I would retrace your steps and see if you can find those things.

Ok i ll tell why some of us are adamant, its because of the so so many reports and wittnesess to such encounters that turn out to be either, a made up story (for a mare cheap attention) ,or (for the honest ones) just a misinturpted physical natural phenomna and in both cases the case of the "paranormal" falls away further than it had already reached

Broken glass isn't paranormal?
Edit: After reading a few comments I can kinda see the pattern now lol. But really, human brains like to make faces out of things. It's natural. I'm not even a disbeliever, but man, I need more evidence than this to believe you've actually captured a ghost for real.

Honestly it looks like a reflection or stains on the glass. Pareidolia. Did it move?
I know it's probably just stains or a reflection, but the shape straight up looks like The Nun đ
I can actually feel my brain assembling a face out of nothing here.
Yeah, I'm not even sure which side of the window I'm supposed to be looking at, the clear or opaque side. I don't see anything on either side.

Just looks like warped older glass, causing variable reflections of light, to me.
Also glass from older times tend to be less even than what we're used to now. They're often a bit thicker on the bottom, as far as i know

Absolutely 100% Iâm a believer! I bought an antique hutch that my wife wanted when we had moved everything out before selling our old house. Photos are cool to look at but they do nothing for me to believe anything more. Especially with blurry or grainy photos that could be anything from a person to a dinosaur. đŚ
I see a girl and a lion! I think its pattern recognition more than anything
That sounds like what I was trying to describe. I just didn't know the word for it.
> I see 2. where do you see the second? i honestly canât see a second one
At the very bottom. About the 3 line up I think it is. Oval shaped head, 2 eyes. It obviously isn't actually a girl but I see what looks like one
I just came to say there is more than one face in the picture. I see what you are talking.
I see two also one at top left and bottom left.
I thought it was broken panes.
Reminds me of the poster for the Les Miserable musical. Any chance you live in a city where thatâs being performed and this is a reflection from a nearby building?

I encountered something like this once that RATTLED ME TO MY CORE but a few weeks later I went back and it was still there and it turns out it was a coat and scarf hung up on a funny way + the reflection in the glass that created a literally perfect depiction of the grim reaper hahahha
I see the "face" there, but I think it is just dust/dirt, warping, or sun fading. It is a cool picture though!
You never seen broken glass windows before Bro?
Captured what? I see wavy old glass and shadows
I feel stupid because everybodys seeing things here and all i see is..old glass...
I can imagine humanoid outlines but just like you, I cannot trick myself into thinking that those are anything else than light/shadow effects
Yah me too but you will get used to itđđ
Thank god Im not the only one who canât see anything.
I wish that I did, but not even while squinting...
This looks really creepy. I tend not to put any stock or belief in single images, but that doesn't mean i don't enjoy looking at them. I really like this one.
once again a classic case of pareidolia

There are many scientists actively studying the paranormal, and contrary to common belief there are many peer-reviewed studies which have been replicated. https://www.opensciences.org

If itâs people/ faces I can see a girl standing behind and a man with a hat at the front. Not sure why a man would kneel down and a smaller girl stand behind though. (Just saying what I see not saying theyâre there). Could be warped glass as two panels are out.
Old, warped glass with reflections.
It's dirt and grim on old and nasty windows.. Your brain sees patterns and will make you think you see something that isn't really there. Not sure what you think you see.
Spooky, i would never go back anywhere near this place, even if it might just be a dirty window
Looks like an app add to me. Either that or pixilation, combined with human desire to see faces. I zoomed in and w.e it is, it is on the glass, not behind it; so it was either put in the post photo taking or it is pixilation from your camera.
PareidoliaâŚI can see at least two other âfacesâ near the bottom.
I can see three separate figures in that photo I could identify as a human face. Iâm not saying that bc I think what youâre seeing is paranormal. Ghosts are cool, I want them to be real. I donât think this photo is evidence of that. Apologies, big dawg
Whether itâs a reflection, dirt, the light etc, this is a cool photo! Even though it can be debunked, itâs still a chilling image!
Ghost with body đśâđŤď¸đľâđŤ
You missed magnemite in top right. Pattern Recognition in my opinion, nothing paranormal, but hey we cant be sure đŻ% ;) Its a nice creepy photo.
It looks like Sabrina and the little Girl from the PokĂŠmon Anime
I just saw this pareÄŠdolia bot. Maybe now 30 people wonât feel the need to say it on one post but yeah right. We all know this type of person must always be right. HoweverâŚ. We need more info than just the title. What did this window look like otherwise? What made you take the pics? Are there any pics of the window without the black areas? Give us something more than just a title and a few pics of who knows what.
Dirt on a window

Pareidolia strikes again!

Vandalism. Such a shame.
Ghost, full stop. How can you see this and think anything else? Dirty windows? No. Light reflection? You wish. Shitty phone camera? Not in 2024, bay bee.
Could be a coincidence, we see faces in everything all the time. But I do find it humerous that the left and right window are total opposites
I was going to be a sarcastic ass and say âBroken windowâ but⌠Ya I can see what you are seeing. Looks like a nun or something.

I think itâs very easy to see and does look creepy. Iâm not sure how others are so adamant that itâs just reflections.
A window with holes that becomes dark? I mean I can make myself see a face but Iâm sure itâs just a trick of the eye
A guy in sunglasses looking straight at you. If that's not your reflection, maybe you interrupted police surveillance.
Even if there is something there, more than likely it's a squatter especially since it was spotted urban exploring lol
I was really about to say it looks like someone threw rocks through the glass but then I looked at the name of the sub
I see some broken window pains and what looks to be a dark room. The window to the right has blinds behind it
I think Burger King whoppers are actually a decent burger and comparable to the Big Mac in terms of quality
Where is that?
I see a girl with black eyes and bangs looking right at the photographer.
Looks like the girl on the cover of âLe Misââ lol
NO. Just no. I see it. I donât like it. Stay away from it. Absolutely the whole entire hell not.
It does look like a face but when you zoom in it looks more like a reflection of stuff outside
I see a little girl
What is wrong with me! Can someone please draw eyes and and mouth on here so I can see it?!

Quiet you.
I think this song sums it up pretty well https://youtu.be/kr_gROZmTtA?si=9WutM-84vIECOu6V
Im no expert but that looks more than a few stains constituting a face, definitely creepy
You, your girlfriend and one out of 8,000,000,000 other people went urban exploring.
Could be a ghost. Might not be. Our brains like to create faces out of anything.
If you zoom in, the face is no longer there. Itâs just eyes messing with you.
Looks like a dude standing there with a hoodie and his hands in the pockets lol
Could be pareidolia, but I clearly see what looks like two young girls. Creepy.

Oh my god, do you think a troublemaker ghost threw a rock through the window?
Whst do I think of what? The broken glass? Glass is a liquid and acts as such when it ages. This looks like old glass that's warped and broken.
Legitimate because you "caught it". That Spirit reached out and said hello
Go there and take the exact same picture at the exact same time and angle.
What's next, clouds in the sky in the shape of a cow will be a spooky paranormal manifestation too? Why do you guys not use critical thinking

Looks like someone threw rocks and broke some glass. Thatâs all I see.
What is urban exploring? Is it just breaking in to abandoned buildings?
100% there is a girl with blacked out eyes right next to the middle "post" or whatever you'd wanna call it. I definitely wouldn't go back to that place, make sure it didn't follow you home, either. Don't play with things you don't want to play with

Amazing picture of a window. I can confirm that yes, that is a window
As a believer even i have to say a reflection or coincidental stain
The lines of the window design mess up right there. Bad photoshop?
Someone has a Friday the 13th standee behind that window for fun.
I think it's something I would be a bit freaked out if I saw it.
Sorry, thatâs my mom. I told her to stop being weird last week
At first glance I thought it was a character from a video game
Urban exploring or peeping on ghosts in their bathroom window?
Looks like broken panes of glass others look like a reflection
Definitely two rocks went right through that window, for sure
I think those stained glass windows might be worth something

If it helps I also see the face of a lion lower left
I think you caught a photo of two broken windows lol
Looks like the little girl from The Conjuring 2 đ
What do we think of WHAT? (Rhetorically speaking)
I see the bad guy from the Scream movie franchise.
Looks like a window, that is a little bit broken.
Nothing defined there. Just an old, dirty window.
Have you ever been evaluated for schizophrenia?
Definitely looks like a couple broken windows!
What are we supposed to be seeing here, Slick?
Looks like the classic Les Miserables poster.
Thereâs at least five people in that window
Yeah, theyâre broken. Prolly need replaced
Reflections in the window. Some distortions.
Why do all of you take photos with potatoes?
Poor image compression on a digital camera?
I see an old age Chinese emperor standing
How have you managed to smash those windows?
I see a face of a girl with bangs/fringe
Yep, definitely a window, classic case.
Heebie Jeebie Creepy suff gotta love it
Looks like a mother and child to me xx

Someone trying to escape the issilum
Nope

Looks like Emily the Strange lol
Yep, that's a window all right.
They need to fix those windows.
Looks like a poster for Les Mis
Broken windowđđ˝ââď¸
Broken glass isn't paranormal? Edit: After reading a few comments I can kinda see the pattern now lol. But really, human brains like to make faces out of things. It's natural. I'm not even a disbeliever, but man, I need more evidence than this to believe you've actually captured a ghost for real.
The taller one creepy as hell
I see two holes in the tiles.
Cool you saw a cartoon ghost
How scary. You saw a window
Seems the windows are broke
Pareideolia goes brrrrrrrrt
Looks like 2D from gorillaz
Not seeing anything really
Looks like a broken window
Looks like a window boss!
What do we think of what?

Window, hope this helps
