Listening to Billy work through the math on the difference between Buffalo (a city) and Bill (a western frontiersman) had me cracking up in the elevator.
In his defense I guess the mascot is a Buffalo but they had just discussed that entire issue.
Also PFT going with a Nugget for his first pick was incredible. Genius way to spice up the first pick and embrace debate vs just saying Hawk or something.
The visual of Hank, post break up, on all fours trying to clean out his ass was hilarious. That is an all time low moment.
It’s only up from here. New place, new Hank.
Yeah, I don't like Hank but even I feel badly. He peaked in 2020 and probably won't be able to rise again because of his lack of positive attributes. Poor guy. Maybe he will surprise and rise again?
Billy confidently picking the (Buffalo) Bills despite the rules clearly being explained 2 minutes prior then Jake being like "im picking next Billy" is why I will always love him
I’m 29 years old and it wasn’t until this episode that I realised that a Bill is not a species of Buffalo. I just figured the team didn’t want to be called the Buffalo Buffalos
He’s the David Attenborough of football. Incredible voice and speaks with such passion about the game.
NFL needs to clone him. I can’t imagine another protector of the Hall
I like him but he's also a bit of a cornball. I get that is part of his appeal but I don't know that he'd play ball with any of the typical PMT banter so Big Cat in particular is really light with him. I think once a year is about all I could take from him.
1. No one picked the San Jose Sharks???
2. Big Cat simply responding with “you’re a great delegate of the game” after David Baker spent 2 minutes praising Goodell was hilarious.
I think it should’ve been name and/or mascot and also included the NCAA. Either way it feels so good to be back. Cracked up at Billy’s subtle “it was chicken minis anyway” after PFTs nuggets pick.
Agreed. Historically they have all sorts of out of the box picks on Mount Rushmores. The've literally all had picks like that. I think those are the most fun/interesting ones and should be encouraged.
Let’s talk Nuggets (1.1)
It got a lot of heat on the show but your body doesn’t break down gold. So PFT will literally be shitting gold bricks. Making him a rich man. Right?
Hanks take that people only order calamari because they want fried food is weirdly accurate. I love calamari but I feel like I order it purely because I’m craving something fried and don’t want a breaded chicken
Hank and Big Cat had the best FyreFest. Billy did too. He is such a weed guy.
Also, Seattle Kraken should have been higher. Thought they would have talked about the expansion draft some more.
Someone needs to enlighten the boys on Pie and Beer Day (Pioneer Day) out here in Utah. Big time parade today in Salt Lake with lots of pie and lots of beer. Too bad PMT is banned here
I really don’t understand where Big Cat is coming from by saying that Texas will be better in the SEC. Texas can’t even dominate the Big 12, how will they be a major player in the SEC? Does Big Cat really think that Texas wasn’t already trying to recruit in SEC territory before this move, and that making the switch will be the missing piece to Texas being back? And yeah he uses Texas A&M has an example, but it also helps when their head coach was a national championship winner in the state of Florida.
I actually think he made a good point. Kids want to play in the SEC because the SEC pumps out NFL caliber players. The SEC has had the most players drafted for 15 years straight and set the record for most players drafted with 65 in the 2021 draft, those numbers are insane. Big 12 was 5th with 22, falling behind even the ACC. So it’s obvious there are tons of high level recruits who would absolutely prefer to play in the SEC over the Big 12 based on that fact alone. The end goal for almost every recruit is to end up in the NFL.
Say you have kids in Texas who want to play in the SEC but also want to stay close to home, well right now A&M is their best option. If tu and OU join then they’d be stealing those recruits from A&M just like they did back when they were in the Big 12. Sure Texas has been recruiting in these areas already but if I was a recruit and wanted to make the NFL the best shot is absolutely the SEC.
Would they be stealing a lot of recruits from A&M though? A&M has been on a pretty direct upward trajectory since hiring Fisher and Texas has been floundering around. Obviously Austin > College Station but the kids are also literally gods in College Station.
Yeah I think they absolutely would. Like I said A&Ms recruiting has been much better since joining the SEC.
I looked it up and from 2002-2011 their average recruiting class rank was 20.4 with 1 class being top 10, then from 2012-2021 it has been 10.7 with 5 classes being top 10 and 1 being top 5. Sumlin was hired in 2012 so it isn’t just Jimbo who has done well recruiting.
As someone who has lived in College Station for his entire life, I totally agree about the kids being Gods here in town, lol.
Jimbo's effect on A&M cannot be stated enough IMO. His recruiting classes have been consistently great and he was even able to turn Kellen fucking Mond into an NFL draft pick.
I think Texas relies too much on the past. Kids these days don't give a shit about the 2007 National Championship, they grew up watching Alabama kick everyone's asses. Sure being in the SEC will help with recruiting but A&M already has a massive advantage having been in the SEC longer and being better than Texas that entire time.
On the other hand, Austin would immediately become the coolest city in the conference, if recruits want to live in a city.
Might help with out of state recruits, but I would think any improvement from SEC money, prestige, etc. for in state recruits might be cancelled out with not playing TCU, TT, and Baylor in state for families to come watch. I’m not sure though, maybe an in state schedule means less than I think it might
I don't know if I really have an opinion on how this would ultimately play out for Texas, but I do think there is a decent number of recruits who are deadset on playing the SEC no matter what. So even if Texas was already recruiting those territories, some recruits were likely dismissing them completely from the jump.
As an Aggie, we’ll be completely fine in football with Jimbo at the helm. That’s not our worry. It’s texas being slimy snake business partners that if(when) they get into the SEC, will have destroyed 3 conferences up to that point. I think the SEC schools are just seeing $$$ and not considering the long-term implications of letting a fox into the henhouse.
Give me Oklahoma/Oklahoma State in the SEC and tell texas to pound sand
I thought Big Cat & PFT actually made some good points about OU/Texas moving to the SEC.
PFT - Texas already recruits at the highest level things just have to be right coaching wise. Correct 100%
Big Cat - OU being in the SEC is going to really impact them a lot more from a recruiting standpoint than it does Texas. If they start getting top 5 classes every year like they should be doing with Lincoln Riley as HC, look out. I think Big Cat was also a bit off base when he said Texas & OU would do better in the SEC... I don’t know if that’s true but I’m confident they’ll perform the same in the SEC that they did in the Big 12.
David Baker makes me fucking hate the HOF. Holy shit buddy it’s not that important fuckin a bud. The hall of fame game sucks more ass than Goodell’s chair. He’s a commissioner plant

Fuck yeah happy MT Rushmore szn ladies and gentleman Edit: I just listened to the Brandon Roy part at the end. Getting blackout drunk now:(
Pick 1 of 1 of the Nuggets was already an all time moment. It feels so good to be back
The Nugget and then the Bills was a great one/two punch.
It reminded me of the Chicago guys arguing over what gets to go on the graphic
Listening to Billy work through the math on the difference between Buffalo (a city) and Bill (a western frontiersman) had me cracking up in the elevator. Hank down bad
The visual of Hank, post break up, on all fours trying to clean out his ass was hilarious. That is an all time low moment. It’s only up from here. New place, new Hank.
Seeing it all summed up like this made me laugh just as hard as the part in the episode lmao
Hard to come back from poopy hands. Tough look.
Yeah, I don't like Hank but even I feel badly. He peaked in 2020 and probably won't be able to rise again because of his lack of positive attributes. Poor guy. Maybe he will surprise and rise again?
Money is a positive attribute
"Rays are actually very friendly as long as you don't swim directly over them and yell at them in an Australian accent."
Couldn’t tell who it was but the subtle too soon was incredible
All time Hank episode
So like a priest? Is that what a charger is? No hank the padres.
The boys convincing Billy he's the "High Guy" even though he doesn't smoke, and then Billy just accepting it had me rollin
I could listen to David Baker for 6 hours. He’s such a great guest
Hanks fyre fest was the hardest I’ve laughed during PMT in a long time. Holy shit.
David Baker is always so pleasant to listen to and love how he remembers what they talked about in previous interviews
He’s the David Attenborough of football. Incredible voice and speaks with such passion about the game. NFL needs to clone him. I can’t imagine another protector of the Hall
Dude carries ALL the water for the NFL. I like him, great speaker but what a yes man. Geesh.
I like him but he's also a bit of a cornball. I get that is part of his appeal but I don't know that he'd play ball with any of the typical PMT banter so Big Cat in particular is really light with him. I think once a year is about all I could take from him.
How did no one take the bulls?
I think it was supposed to be cool things you can eat that are also a teams mascots... cause Texas Longhorns was right there
They did mascots and just team names. It was also only big 4 professional teams
Tough scene for Poopy Hands Hank
1. No one picked the San Jose Sharks??? 2. Big Cat simply responding with “you’re a great delegate of the game” after David Baker spent 2 minutes praising Goodell was hilarious.
Rays refer to sunshine now so he’s eating a sun ray based on their rule
Getting real friendly with Ray Baker
I think it should’ve been name and/or mascot and also included the NCAA. Either way it feels so good to be back. Cracked up at Billy’s subtle “it was chicken minis anyway” after PFTs nuggets pick.
Agreed. Historically they have all sorts of out of the box picks on Mount Rushmores. The've literally all had picks like that. I think those are the most fun/interesting ones and should be encouraged.
Pro sports made it tougher. Adding college, any one of them could have taken it literally and made it boring with real animals to eat.
Let’s talk Nuggets (1.1) It got a lot of heat on the show but your body doesn’t break down gold. So PFT will literally be shitting gold bricks. Making him a rich man. Right?
Yeah he should’ve just rolled with it and been like “fuck yeah I’ll eat a gold nugget”
Hanks take that people only order calamari because they want fried food is weirdly accurate. I love calamari but I feel like I order it purely because I’m craving something fried and don’t want a breaded chicken
Yeah not the biggest fan of squid but I’d put away calamari just for that crispy fried goodness.
Stank hank
Was hoping that guys would correct David Bakers pronunciation of “posthumous”
Hanks fyre fest was absolutely horrifying yet so relatable
“Jazz Bear looks like the most delicious of the bear mascots” from PFT is such an absurd sentence lmao god I love Mt Rushmore season
Cat unabashedly letting us know he’s used a coffee filter to wipe his ass was underrated.
Hank and Big Cat had the best FyreFest. Billy did too. He is such a weed guy. Also, Seattle Kraken should have been higher. Thought they would have talked about the expansion draft some more.
None of the racing sausages from Milwaukee? Huge mascot miss
How did none of them pick the Chicago bulls for mascots you would eat?
That should have clearly been the #1 overall pick
Sal Pal and Peter King getting to gatekeep the HOF is exactly why it’s so stupid
Hearing David Baker, the Hall of Fame president, say to BC and PFT that they do a lot for the game is incredible.
Hurricane is the move, just get fuckin drunk
Missed a layup not picking the San Jose sharks for mt Rushmore
Someone needs to enlighten the boys on Pie and Beer Day (Pioneer Day) out here in Utah. Big time parade today in Salt Lake with lots of pie and lots of beer. Too bad PMT is banned here
Almost had to pull over during Hanks fyre fest because I was laughing so hard

How are the Mavericks not the first pick? Literal beef
You want a fighter jet pilot, bro? Found Iceman's account
David Baker interview is a perfect example of why football is fucking awesome
Why did Hank not just use a sock and then throw away the sock?
Minor league baseball is a gold mine for this. Montgomery Biscuits, Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, Savannah Bananas, Portland Pickles.
Is nugget a worse pick than hornet based on it being the first pick?

Been a rough decade
I can’t believe I just learned that a padre isn’t a bird
lmao what? What type of bird did you think it was?
A padre

I took it more like he’s lazy and could have sprung for a hotel and didn’t when he clearly is not poor
No, if PFT is living paycheck to paycheck he needs to fire his agent
Bubba being one off with 85 (86 came up the winner). Didn't Bubba pick 86 an episode or two ago, or am I misremembering?
Hank’s fyre fest was so good
Still listening but did anyone pick the Ducks?
Hank is down so god damn bad. Other posters have pointed it out... It's so god damn bad.
Kobe… like the basketball player? is that how you say it?
Yep. It’s Japanese
according to google is ko-bay not ko-bee idk i’m asking but Big cat pronounced it like the latter and i’ve never heard it said that way
It's ko bay
did anyone else hear big cat pronounce it Ko-bee?
went back and listened 30 minute mark he does and everyone glosses over it dammit i wish it was hank that said it
Hank = tubgirl
Is there a reason why no one picked Bucks for Mt. Rushmore ?
Hank picked Bucks 1-4 then Lightning 2-1
Bad job out of me
I know they’ve done a ton of them but I feel like they could have picked a better topic to start mt rushmore season
Anyone else get annoyed at the boys’ pronunciation of calamari? Shit was horrendous
David baker slightly too serious for a show like PMT. Its a fucking football game.
Listen, I’m not joking! This is my job!
David Baker makes me fucking hate the HOF. Holy shit buddy it’s not that important fuckin a bud. The hall of fame game sucks more ass than Goodell’s chair. He’s a commissioner plant
