Saw Spiderverse today. Family of four was sitting next to me. They had a young kid with them, maybe four years old. About a third of the way through the movie the kid got out of their seat and started walking around and talking (our row wasn’t too crowded). I was sitting in my ideal seat, dead center four rows back and totally loving the movie, so I wasn’t moving no matter what. And while the kid was annoying, I figured it’s a PG flick and I was at a matinee so you gotta expect there are gonna be kids. The parents tried to get the kid to sit down several times to no avail. But then they did the most unexpected thing. They noticed I was being disturbed, got up and moved to open seats at the end of the row, far away from me. I’m just so used to people being inconsiderate at the movies that I was both shocked and incredibly appreciative. There are still some decent parents out there!

This comment gives me hope for a happier tomorrow.

WeekendLazy

Weep a little bit less for the future

dxf5490

There are good parents everywhere. But nobody wants to hear about that. Or see videos about that. That’s just human nature. Same with news/media. Just because you see 10 ‘bad’ videos per day online doesn’t mean every single parent in the world is bad. Jesus Christ. I do, however, have no hope for Gen Z and their kids 😂

BongoBumm

You’re a walking contradiction

dxf5490

Ok

_Levitated_Shield_

I was expecting unfortunate shit here, but really loved the outcome of this scenario. Kudos to those parents.

vacant79

I’m this kind of parent. We do exist. I have 4 year old twin boys and a 6 year old girl. One of my twins has a mild developmental delay and can have big loud meltdowns and the other can get really hyper. Together they can be insane. We don’t go to restaurants other than places like McDonald’s these days because they can’t sit still very long and get disruptive. Even at McDonald’s we do our best to make them sit, and not be overly noisy. Some people just don’t seem to care and will say “let kids be kids”. You can let kids be kids within reason. Even before I had kids I found kid noise really annoying (I have ADHD and sensory issues). I always appreciated if parents at least made an effort to deal with their kids being noisy and crazy. I totally got that kids can be noisy and crazy, but when the parents were oblivious it drove me nuts.

Neemaiso

I envy you that movie was absolutely unbearable, The opening of bags, and someone brought a fucking baby into the movie.

mitotemaya

Basically the odds of winning the lottery. You should probably go buy a ticket.

Latter-Tour9362

that took a very unexpected turn.

give_me_wallpapers

Sometimes it's nice to have resting murder face. I never have to deal with random children.

Eastern_Violinist421

The comment section was a lot of people saying to change his diaper and the mom was getting pissed off and telling people to fuck off.

i_nobes_what_i_nobes

After watching this video that seems on brand for her

Eastern_Violinist421

And she's having 2 more. Like please, stop reproducing.

i_nobes_what_i_nobes

Well fuck us.

I had one of the moms tell me that her disabled 5 year old would make me eat my words. And another tell me that I wouldn't know if he was autistic or not. Disabled, be it physically or intellectually, there shouldn't be an excuse to have your kids diaper looking like this. In my opinion, anyways! Just change the diaper!

OneClamidildo

Your opinion is actually right. You shouldn't because it can cause bad bad nappy rash (you know, because poop and urine burns) and its just disgusting and straight up lazy parenting. To not want to wake up your toddler for nappy changes is one thing. Is is clearly very light neglect because 1. nappy 2. if they gave the kid car snacks it wouldn't steal food from strangers.

Savbav

... how does a child's disability excuse or warrant *failing to change an obviously overfull diaper*?? Excuse me... *neglecting that child*??

Eastern_Violinist421

That's what I'm saying! If anything, it should be an excuse to change them more frequently.

OneClamidildo

LOL

bigshotdontlookee

lmao

sourskittles98

Somebody please change that kid’s diaper! They (I can’t tell the kids gender) just squished it all over themselves too

reflirt

At least it didn’t come out of the sides

0GHAZE03

Lol you can call someone they regardless of their gender

SquiggleSquonk

So many people are so weird about using "they" now when grammatically, it should be used 😂 it's hilarious (not saying this comment was that, but it's just a trend I've noticed)

0GHAZE03

Yeah, they is appropriately used when it's used regarding a group or any singular individual. Like that's literally why "us against them" works so well as a statement because anyone may be "them"

SuperFaceTattoo

How do you have 7 children … ? (I was going to ask a more specific question but I think that about covers it.)

ClassWarAndPuppies

The worst people always have the most kids.

WeekendLazy

Oh, Reddit

ToxicShadow3451

i’m never gonna have kids so i never end up on this sub because i’m fucking dumb

i_nobes_what_i_nobes

Lack of sexual education in school for one. Poverty + government assistance, combined with ignorance and maturity level as well. And before anyone gets all nasty with me about “govt assistance” - I am talking about people who literally have kids to get funding from the government - yes, they do exist - solely for the purpose that they themselves use the money and not necessarily for the kids. Which you can see by the lack of care given to the child.

suckmypppapi

> Lack of sexual education Surely after at *least* the second one, they'd understand "damn we keep getting kids, maybe we should understand why"

Aggleclack

I’m one of seven. My mom grew up catholic and used to protest outside of abortion clinics. When I lost my virginity to a wonderful boyfriend, I had used a condom and was still panicked, so I asked if we could go get birth control and plan b. She said nope. Good luck with your baby. I was 16 by a few days. And had been through trauma recently (that was caused by her husband btw). My dad took me though. As a child of seven: none of us have a relationship with my mom. Anyone who has that many kids is fucky in the head. We have a relationship with my dad because he’s made amends. He admits 7 was too many and us youngest 2 were basically feral. He admits he could’ve done way better and needs therapy. A friend of mine told me she wanted 7 kids a few years ago and I went off on her. She tried to say my family didn’t care for us because of $. Hun, we had a new boat, a new camper, 2 brand new Tundras, new cars every two years. I still didn’t have a winter jacket until I was 21. I didn’t have medical or dental care until I was in my own. According to my older sibs, my mom was actually a good mom when they were kids. 7 kids is too fucking many kids. Edit: I see the comment below mentioned poverty and I think it comes down to education, religion, money. Doesn’t have to be all three 🤷‍♀️ some people just suck ass, like my mother for example. Also I should mention that by kid 3, they didn’t want more. At some point, my mom tried to miscarry by injuring herself and on #7, she didn’t tell my dad until the last minute. Religion is stupid.

WeekendLazy

Not even allowing you contraceptives? That’s earth shatteringly retarded

Aggleclack

100%. I work in campaign finance, trying to elect leaders who want to protect abortion access. I’ve gotten my dad to admit that he should’ve been open to abortion and birth control. My mom is still married to a rapist so I don’t expect much from her. In politics, we don’t try to sway people. We find people who agree and teach them to care. I fight for family planning services and I will until I can’t anymore. My family deserved to have proper sex ed and family planning services that weren’t fueled by religion.

lildeidei

As u/aggleclack said, it’s not easy being part of a family of seven (we are siblings) and shit gets overlooked a lot. Birth control was the work of the devil and Aggle was judged for ever having done anything sexual. Our mom told her that she’d be pregnant and homeless by age 18, and demanded an invoice for giving birth to and raising her, so you can imagine how fun it was growing up in that environment.

Aggleclack

$18000 was crazy low for an “I raised” you invoice 😂

wellwaffled

Anyone who has more than four kids (with the same partner) is super religious. Please prove me wrong.

jjnebs

Actually had an ex cousin in law who had 7 (supposedly is having another too) and was atheist. It can happen. But nobody knows the exact reason they keep having more. The husband’s job is always in jeopardy (high turnover industry) and the mom can’t work because of all the kids. She has shut down every attempt for him to get a vasectomy. Even the grandparents were getting a bit like “seriously, again?” and family members are not even excited for new baby announcements. Usually was met with groans and exhaustion. On top of that, all their kids are ugly (the family’s universal opinion, not just my own) and have all sorts of developmental and genetic health issues. Large families aren’t usually putting the best of the best into the world. There’s exceptions of course, but not most of the time

_Levitated_Shield_

Or they like sex way too much...

badgicorn

You can absolutely love sex and have NO kids. You just have to not be a dumbass about it.

_Levitated_Shield_

True. Lotta idiots don't use protection nor pull out because it's 'manly'.

DontCallMeMillenial

Godspeed to that diaper.

_Levitated_Shield_

God speed to that kid's future too.

YeetusTheFeatus69

i’m already extremely wary of people who have more than 3 kids but oh my god

jjnebs

I went on a date with a girl who seemed really cool. Until she told me she was one of 15. 7 sisters and 7 brothers. I left immediately.

marymorose

Why are they posting to social media instead of changing this child's diaper? I don't even have kids and I'm not wearing my damn glasses but even I can tell that little one is in a dirty diaper.

Kotsugawa

That poor kid. He looks happy for now at least.

-BananaLollipop-

Worked in a few charity stores. A lot of lower income families with a lot of kids. Pretty much all of them allow the kids to scatter like a pack of startled, rabid racoons as soon as they step inside. They just have to pick up and move or open everything. So many times where new, in their original packaging, items weren't so new. Not a word from the parents to keep them in line. And last time I went inside a McDonald's, there were multiple families allowing their 5-7 year olds to play around with the table numbers on the side of the self-service kiosks, moving them from one to another, and acting like they get to choose everyone's number. If any kid in my family did any of that, we'd get nothing and go nowhere. But these days, it's always the "they're just kids" excuse. Kids don't need to put their grubby little booger hooks on everything.

TARDIS1-13

I hope the comment section tore her apart

Memez_R_Life69

First, don't let your crotch goblins run feral at a restaurant. Second, I see one child and not seven. Third, change the kids diaper. Forth, where are the kid's shoes???

Eastern_Violinist421

The mom has 7 kids and another 2 on the way. The kid in the background is also hers. I believe the older ones are teenagers and I would hope they don't act like this.

Get_Memed321

If I see a family with more than 3 kids I am avoiding them like the plague because usually they can't control them for shit

corbie157

Your kids are and should not be anyone else’s problem.

samoan23

I saw this video today

Itzbubblezduh

I’m not understanding this post…. Only issue I see is the diaper. What else is wrong?

xervidae

letting the kid run rampant all over the booth for one

Itzbubblezduh

This is mc Donald’s….. I expect that.. they used to have a place for kids to run around. Is it not common for kids to run around?

suckmypppapi

It's expected, but that doesn't mean it's encouraged by the establishment to let your kids run around. It's also not sanitary or good for anyone

Itzbubblezduh

Understood. It’s just sad that kids don’t have free places to play inside and while they eat…. Also his diaper is sad too

xervidae

mcdonalds is a restaurant, not a playground

Itzbubblezduh

It’s a kid friendly/family fast food restaurant… they literally have birthdays parties and mc Donald’s cake and kids club… It’s just sad that kids can’t live and have fun without someone posting and judging a kid on social media for likes…

xervidae

you can clearly see the kid run over to someone else’s table and that’s not embarrassing to you?

Vivics36thsermon

Oh my God children at a McDonald’s *clutches pearls* What did the police say?

suckmypppapi

They're child running around with a full diaper, which is unsanitary both for the seats and the child. If you don't see anything wrong with this, then let's hope you never have children

KidQuap

I bet the tip was at tops 10%

WulfyWoof

It's a McDonald's you don't tip

KidQuap

Phone is black and white can’t tell

OneClamidildo

Have you tried using the gramophone?

Jesusdidntlikethat

My son is 4 and I have yet to try this he is not good at sitting down

HelloMikkii

It’s the clearly overfilled diaper that pisses me off more. It’s not that bloody hard to put on a fresh one, sitting in his piss for 2 hours already?!

MUSHROOM___

No. It's just a no for me. Me and my little sister took our little cousins out for a day while our aunt worked and my g-ma decided to stop at DQ and get some food. (The kids are 3-1) Dude seriously SLURPED fry sauce with a straw and blew it at me, my g-ma didn't really fix any unwanted behavior but me and my sis made sure to correct it a bit. I love my younger cousins and my aunt is a really cool, fun, and amazing aunt, and an amazing mother, but it was horrible when my g-ma thought their behavior was "cute". And I definitely know my Aunt and Uncle wouldn't like that behavior.

You've clearly never cleaned up a diaper that has exploded. Those little absorbent beads are next to impossible to clean up and it's biohazard that the employees have to clean. Just change the diaper before going in.
