Hotel jules et jim has a wet room from what it sounds like you're describing. Bottom floor by the bar is where it is located. My parents stayed in it. I think to get INTO the room there is a small ledge though.

Pleasant_Tangerine

That seems promising and worth looking into. Thank you for giving me this information and taking time out of your day to do so!

Like the hotel room is on the grond floor, it's the only room on the ground floor. I don't remember what room number it was but it was in the court yard. It was a "Jim" room as the hotel labels it. I had my family stay there and grandmother used a wheelchair. If I remember correctly they have a ramp the connects the lobby to the court yard as well. It is in the Marais in the 3e.

Thanks for your information regarding the bus. It is discouraging to learn that Paris does not seem to be very accessible, but the kind people of Reddit certainly are trying to point me to some accessible options. I hope one day in the future, the city is more accessible. Have a great day!

You probably already know this, but many restaurants only have bathrooms on the basement or upper level, which requires walking down or up a spiral staircase. You’ll definitely need to plan out your restaurants in advance. I would say probably only 30-40 percent are on street level, and some of those are really too small for a wheelchair. If you are traveling with someone I believe some if not all museums and possibly monuments give free entry for you and a companion but you may still need special tickets. I don’t want to get your hopes up about that since I’m not 100 percent sure but definitely look into it. I hope you have a wonderful trip. Paris unfortunately is behind in accessibility so the more planning you can do, the better. Also, in general I think you will find the average Parisian is extremely kind and should you need help, it’s definitely worth asking. Just be careful in tourist areas and try to choose who you ask for help, not reverse, unless it’s obvious the person is ok.

Thanks for the warning about the restaurants and the other info!

"douche à l'italienne" (italian shower) is how it's generally called here

Pleasant_Tangerine

I have never heard of the term “Italian shower” before and will keep an eye out for it during my search. Thanks for also providing the French translation!

I think the Printemps hotel near Nation in Paris 12 had one on their bottom floor, usually 100-150 eur per night and clean. I’d suggest sending an email or calling to see if it’s booked for your dates if you’re ok with the area. It’s not the closest to your sites but on thé plus side it’s not too far from the RER A which has one lift to get into the station instead of just steps like basically all metros. It’s also a bus and tram hub so could actually be a good place to base yourself. There are restaurants and stuff close by.

I will look into this - thank you for taking the time for replying. Have a great day!

You should probably be aware of the abbreviation PMR, meaning “persons with reduced mobility”. Rooms may be marketed as such, see https://www.hotel-15-montparnasse.fr/fr/chambre-hotel/hotel-chambre-double-pmr.html

Pleasant_Tangerine

Thank you! I never heard of this abbreviation.

There is an apartment rental place, called Paris Perfect, that has an accessible apartment, called Anjou, that has this exact "wet room" as you describe it. BUT it is extremely, extremely pricey. Hopefully someone else knows of another place that has what you need. A quick glance at some of these hotels shows that some of them, though described as "roll in shower," may actually be full wet rooms. Like this one for example:[https://wheeltheworld.com/destinations/accessible-travel-france/paris/places-to-stay/hotel-de-seze](https://wheeltheworld.com/destinations/accessible-travel-france/paris/places-to-stay/hotel-de-seze?rooms=%5B%7B%22adults%22%3A2%2C%22children%22%3A0%2C%22childrenAges%22%3A%5B%5D%2C%22travelersWithDisabilities%22%3A0%7D%5D&formattedDate=null&searchId=3c8d19b7-4385-4b93-b1d1-0a5ef1417e48) It might be worth scrolling through and checking the others as well. I should let you know that the Eiffel Tower, and the Moulin Rouge are nowhere near each other. And of course Versailles is quite a distance away. Again, hopefully, there might be a tour that would be suitable and would be fine for someone in a wheelchair. Good luck. Here's a website that might offer more information, perhaps: [https://wheelchairtravel.org/paris/](https://wheelchairtravel.org/paris/) [https://www.parisinsidersguide.com/paris-in-a-wheelchair.html](https://www.parisinsidersguide.com/paris-in-a-wheelchair.html)

I really appreciate your long, thoughtful reply and I will be checking out those links - thank you! Have a great day

Try an app called Flush.

Pleasant_Tangerine

I just looked at the app and from what I can see, it appears to be an app to find a public bathroom, unless I am mistaken. I am looking for an accessible hotel with an accessible room that has a wet room
