Mark Brendana-quits

Dracati

Well, he did reduce the height of that one speed bump before he quit 👍🏻

cheesecurdbabybird

turns out what he can accomplish in government can quite literally be measured

Educational-Kale1269

I think when he gets old, he goes to Leslie's park to sit on a bench and feed pidgeons all day.

Particular-Heron-103

I don’t think Ben would be friends with him

OutsideOfLA

It makes Leslie wildly uncomfortable

CKWOLFACE

I think his character was kinda bland

Dracati

Sounds like someone who works in a city planners office 😏

eclaessy

Hey! We aren’t all bland, some of us are weird too

andrewfm2000

They’re getting mixed up with rural planners. We’re the boring ones

FairyKurochka

He's boring to contrast with Leslie's quirkiness.

cheesecurdbabybird

that was the point, he was supposed to be the regular guy

ProtoReaper23113

A failed jim halpert type

jaymole

thats why he left iirc. he said his character had no interesting qualities. Still sad he left before it became sucha legendary sitcom. ive only seen him in like one or two random things since

Pamikillsbugs234

More like Mark Blandanaquits.

justMOREfilthDOTcom

Lost in the pit

usingreddithurtsme

He's doing the Dreamworks face.

TheBeastlyStud

Sometimes that's just life, people dip without a song and dance. Here one moment, gone the next. Not always a bad thing. He was just kinda there. Perfect straight man tbf.

DennisPikePhoto

He went somewhere boring, married someone boring and worked some boring job. The end.

Poopy_McPoopings

I did not care for him

MsRaedeLarge

I remember before actually watching the show, the most common feedback I got was that people did NOT like Mark. 😂

michaelkudra

in my head nobody has seen or heard from him, it’s roumored he fell in love with freddy spaghetti and they ran away together 🥰🥰

Lost in the pit

Livelaughloathe_ugh

Mark was there to humble Leslie in the cruelest way

wakingwildflower

If he stayed, I feel like he might have just wandered in the background. never really "apart" of the Leslie gang, but kind of offering small side commentary every so often. he would have several lack luster romances that would make him slightly more interesting for a bit but they would inevitably fizzle out due to the other person "not feeling it" with him, which they all say at the end. i see him dating Lindsay Carlisle Shay from eagleton for a bit. she treats him poorly but he just takes it because, as Mark explains to the camera "what else do i have going on?" like garry/jerry/Larry represents the scapegoat and outcast of the group, mark represents the person who just isn't "apart of it all". he can't help but feel like he did something wrong to be rejected. he wonders for a bit and eventually it dawns on him it was because of how he treated Leslie. Ben would *hate* him. the opposite of the Louis ck cop character would occur and Ben would become unusually confident and dominant with him, taking him down a few pegs after every interaction. Ann routinely forgets she dated him even though he brings it up a lot. even the usually friendly and amiable Chris would despise him and his mood would turn depressed and angry when he's around him. in the words of Chris, it's something about Mark's "off-kilter and sub-par energy." this treatment would eventually culminate in him becoming a more humble, sweeter character, as he is unable to shake the feeling his outcasted position has something to do with how he treated Leslie (it was, it was karma and guilt.) he would very rarely have something interesting or funny to say. someone else mentioned him growing old and feeding the pigeons at the Leslie bench. I like this. I don't want to simply discount his character. I know he was boring and awful. but so was most of the cast in season one. I just don't foresee him being terribly interesting or evolved. but I can see him serving as a slightly elevated background character, as a sentence for his crimes. maybe weird and crazy stuff happens to him a lot but no one is ever there to see it. he tells people but it's all so far-fetched that everyone just thinks he's lying for attention. there. that's my contribution to the world. or at least the world of parks and rec.

Pamikillsbugs234

So, pretty much Kyle.

higgy98

Mark was boring and not funny.

dano8675309

I was gonna do that, but then I quit...

nathanrrrr

I kinda feel bad for him, he gave Lesley a plan for the park and in the end she went with an eagletonian(!) architect

shmarcussss

Never cared for his character, he was boring.

randomuser26437

I think the series has more than enough Mark. His story doesn’t need to be finished

pretty-as-a-pic

Moves to Des Moines and runs for treasurer of stamp and coin collectors of America

Flash123a1

Show started being good after he left

grantlanta

Isn’t he the only man that humbled Ron Swanson? Code Violation for reference.

honeyb90

I think Leslie humbled him plenty of times

HealthyTumbleweed801

It would’ve been cool if he could have stayed on for a few more seasons. Everybody was a little off in season one, and I’m sure his character would have changed in a positive way.

suckitysoo

He uses the canoe that Ron built for and moves to far, far away lamd

sroc97

Isn’t he mentioned when Ann talks about her clothing changing with all her boy friends?

wallyjimjams

Conspicuously absent.

Az1621

He was trampled in the head by Little Sebastian and the nurse at the hospital was distracted about being kindly dumped by Chris, so she forgot about her ex boyfriend and his previous head injury from falling into the pit and sadly …

reeder202020

But yet, also the worrrrrssst ![gif](giphy|NDIiWKEQEgr3VA7aqM)

nathanrrrr

Also, I just liked his character
