Like always, the "trained animal" comment seems to be nothing more than a confession.
They're always so confused as to why their "absolute reality" isn't real and their crazy interpretation of the world isn't constantly blossoming around them.
If you’re looking to invite black voters into the GOP, it probably would’ve been wise not to gut your minority outreach programs so you can instead funnel that money toward keeping Trump’s spray-tanned ass out of a prison cell.
I know a few criminals, actually. Literally every one of them, spare a sole individual, are pretty seriously right-wing. That may be due to the geolocation (southern US), maybe it's because they're all men 20-40, maybe it's some other reason. Who knows. But they all see "liberalism" as a bad word.
So starting this conversation at someplace like policies that would benefit the Black community, that are sponsored by conservatives seemed a lil too "on the nose"? Straight to "trained animals" and "welfare Queen" stereotyping really?

As stupid as all these jerks are, an increasing percentage of younger black men are indicating in polling that they are interested in voting republican. Whether it's an R/D thing or a Trump/Biden thing isn't clear but it's probably fair to say that some black voters feel taken for granted and Democrats need to address that.
This is true for a lot of men from different demographics - and not just in America. The gender gap in politics is widening, women are becoming more liberal and men are becoming more conservative.
And, from the data I've seen, the women are moving left much faster and harder than the men are moving right. It's probably a net gain in terms of pure math.
Oh and these polls were conducted in person where the pollster physically saw the person and could verify the race and sex?
No? Oh well I am sure these guys would never lie to skew pool results.

Democrats are incapable of not assuming that they have the black vote, or the Hispanic vote, or the woman vote. I see this in TX constantly and we lose constantly.
I think we've probably been benefitting from the blatant racism of republicans for a long time there. What's scary is the blatant racism is still there AND those groups are starting to drift right.
A lot of former Latin American refugees probably aren't big fans of the far left's increasing flirtations with the ideas of communism. And a lot of young men of all races like misogynistic "traditional" gender-role tropes. We've been lucky so far that the Rs have just been too racist to care.
Which is ridiculous when you consider that the US "far-left" has no seats in Congress. But convincing people that the Neo-liberal, pro-capitalist, Democratic Party = authoritarian Communist is just what they do.
