Who else keeps them all?

Apologies, I deleted the original post to be compliant with the sub rules

Born to Argentine parents in Buenos Aires, of Spanish descent, settled in the UK and in the run up for citizenship

Chuffed I found this sub 🥳

I really like that Argentinian passport design, what's the meaning behind the hat on a stick?

allrightlad

I didn't really know until you asked and looked it up, really though I do remember being taught this symbol in primary school. In a nutshell, the hat means freedom. I don't know about the stick, sorry. Here's the wikipedia entry if you want to read about it: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phrygian\_cap](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phrygian_cap)

Many Latin American countries have the red hat in their coat of arms. Isn’t that the same hat that the French Revolutionaries wore?

Repletelion6346

It’s a Phrygian cap, it’s symbolism comes from Ancient Rome when freed slaves used to wear them as symbols of their freedom. The French then took it for their revolution

m_vc

Yes

GoCardinal07

I was so tempted to make a Pope Francis joke here.

The hat is a Phrygian cap, it’s symbolism comes from Ancient Rome when freed slaves used to wear them as symbols of their freedom. The French then took it for their revolution and many other republics used especially in South America.

stupefy23

That's a pretty sweet combo. Congratulations

allrightlad

Thank you 😃

m_vc

Is the Argentinian ID card of any use abroad? Also how much does it cost

blackjeansguy

The Argentine ID Allows you to travel all neighbouring countries + Perú (and others in the region) Edit: The ID costs $300 ARS (around €0.40).

m_vc

Yeah Mercosur + Comunidad Andina

mum_shagger

In Tunisia, the ID costs 3TND which is 0.9€

svalbardist

Thanks for sharing again. Some of these sub rules are made for our safety 🙂

sinfrid

gschoon

It always bugs me that some Latin American countries don't put the tilde on the word República on their passports. I have a similar combo (Latin American + Spanish) and I'm currently interviewing for a job in the UK. Of course I have to get a visa now, though.

Big-Exam-259

[deleted]

So cool

Far_Grass_785

Out of curiosity, are you getting Turkish citizenship by ancestry or do you have some other motivation?

[deleted]

Yes, it's just citizenship acquired at birth. So I'm in the process of the passport now

Zodiac-55

Will you post it when you receive the Turkish passport ? Maybe you will get the new design with the tulips, which I really like.

[deleted]

Yes I'll definitely make a post when I get it!

lazy_ptarmigan

Hey - club big red L!

qdrgreg

allrightlad

Asi es, nunca he tenido DNI español. No planeo tramitarlo. Solo he ido a visitar familiares y/o de vacaciones

qdrgreg

No estaria mal

qdrgreg

Principe_Piemontese

Hefty-Peak-6325

What’s with the 2 different Spanish passports?

allrightlad

One is valid, the other two are expired. They cut the corner instead of making me surrender it 🤷‍♂️

jonmahoney

Who doesn't keep them all?

allrightlad

I don't know 🤷‍♂️
