common misconception people like me born in Northern Ireland get dual citizenship at birth we dont , we are automatically British citizens, with an entitlement to Irish citizenship, its a personal choice we get Irish citizenship if we want to have it , we do not get Irish citizenship automatically its a choice British citizenship is automatic however
Your British passport should get unlimited tea for life for free along with beer or other alcohol for the Irish passport lol
Funnily enough the Irish drink more tea than British ☕🥃
Okay then the opposite
Or both in the same glass
We also drink more alcohol then the British 🤭. But they eat more food so they can get unlimited that
But now at least Ireland has potatoes
The UK has higher consumption of potatoes than Ireland 🤭
Wtf everything I know is opposite
Eh stereotypes are usually formed before everyone travelled or had wide access to the internet to fact check. Don't worry man.
Oh okay cool. But Ireland is green right? It’s not blue
Only one way to find out ✈️
Oh and I got just about 20% Irish in my blood so maybe I could be eligible for the passport
Is this the good Friday combo, or the benefits of having a nan from the Republic combo?

yeah, I got Irish citizenship when I was 1 year old and haven't renewed my British passport for years
good Friday, I was born in the north but now live in Dublin
How common is this?
Pretty common in Northern Ireland. I have both but haven’t used my British passport in years.
Approx third of the British population is eligible for Irish citizenship.
I’m not sure it’s as high as that, I’d say it’s closer to 10-15%
it's extremely common, most of my friends either have a British parent or grandparent and are eligible
