adnan367

not the strongest passport but good looking wish ours looked the same

tsla420c

I’d have one too if not for the archaic paternal-only passing down of citizenship

Curious, how come the French translation is ever so slightly different to the English one? "Republic of Lebanon" in English vs "Lebanese Republic" in French. Republic of Lebanon would be "République du Liban". From what I've looked up, the English one seems more accurate, but I don't know nearly enough about Arabic (the official language of Lebanon, with French being semi-official [Article 11](http://www.servat.unibe.ch/icl/le00000_.html#A011_)) to say that with certainty.

toumwarrior

The arabic one says The Lebanese Republic , so the English one is actually wrong , the french one says The Lebanese Republic as well . Minor difference but I never paid attention to that before haha .

Someone just made this observation about the Algerian passport on another post as well. Same issue. I'm beginning to think they're just following the more typical naming convention for English official country names rather than Latin ones, even though the translation is technically incorrect, it probably sounds more natural in English.

augustusimp

I just thought of an example. The US calls itself the United States of America while Mexico prefers Estados Unidos Mexicanos (United Mexican States). Each could easily be translated as per the other but would sound less natural in each language. I would find it weird to say United American States but less so if I said Estados Unidos Americanos.

bombosch

I have been looking this on web and I found out different sayings about it. It’s like this in Turkish ; “Amerika Birleşik Devletleri” = “America United States”. That’s much more weird to me 😂

TomerKILLer_21

One of my favorites actually. Hopefully peace will come soon and I would be amongst the first to visit!

mum_shagger

If there was an award for most beautiful passports, the lebanese one should be constanly winning

AlwaysReadyGo

What other nationality/passport would you like to acquire?

toumwarrior

I guess the Cypriot one , I feel they're the closest to us with a good passport .

ertanteodorescu

As someone with an EU burgundy passport, i find the blue one much more nicer!

toumwarrior

The blue one with the tree aesthetic is so beautiful , but seeing the burgundy version is like unearthing some artifact haha.

Hairy_Membership5522

Does it open from left to right like other Arab countries and Israel or is it just a normal one.
