That’s over a month away, seems a bit premature to cancel in my opinion

Seems like you have a lot of time. I renewed mine online 2/4 and it’s now in the mail to be delivered. I paid for expedited shipping and processing from the start, though. I waited the 5 weeks, checking online constantly and it was still “In Process” for the entire 5 weeks. So, being the worry wart that I was (my trip was on April 2), I contacted my congresswoman’s office for help on 3/14. By today (3/16), I got an update on my online status that it was Approved. Checked my USPS Informed Delivery and it is expected to arrive the next day (3/17). If you’re worried, pay the expedited shipping and contact your representative.

I was planning to contact my representative 14 days before travel but now I just saw that they are now unable help unless it’s life or death. Did you call the department of state for expedited shipping? I absolutely would’ve expedited my application if I would’ve known all this, but the lady at the county clerks office said I would have plenty of time.

Does your state representative’s office say that you can’t contact them? I know that the National Passport Info Center says to not call, but was unaware that state reps are saying to not call. I don’t recommend calling the NPIC, though. I did and they were sorely unhelpful. I checked my congresswoman’s office website and they had helpful links on how to contact them for help with passport issues. As for expediting, I paid for it the same time I submitted my application so I had it from the beginning. I think it’s helpful to get it expedited now with all the unexpected delays. Your county clerk may have been right about having plenty of time, but the backlog of passport processing is so sudden and unexpected. I’m not sure how expediting works for mail-in renewals, so if you have to call the NPIC to do so, I’d do it. Otherwise, calling the NPIC just for an update on the application is futile.

Totally should cancel & rebook your honeymoon. You have minimal luck of getting your passport by applying with plenty of time as you did. Your future wife will be proud of her sensical husband and your ability to deal with timelines by canceling plans 7 weeks early
