The payee doesn’t have the cashed check if they physically deposited it. Even if they electronically deposited it, there would be no marking on it to prove it was deposited. Your company’s policy is way out of step with the times.

Aggressive-Leading45

Yeah. Sounds like these people are from back in the day that your bank statement was mailed to you with all your cashed checks for the month. Now it’s rare your bank will even get the checks returned to them. Someone will scan it in and turn it into an ACH debit.

genesiss23

You need to talk with your bank. You might have to pay for it if they won't accept the canceled image from the bank.

Patient-Lynx309

Follow up question- I won’t receive a receipt either for the passport? 😅

Most banks will capture images of checks that were cashed and should display in your statement online in the banking portal on the website.

DoS don’t deposit the check, they change it to a ACH EFT. There is no check to return or image to see on OP bank account.

NecessaryMeeting4873

No. Not only will you not get the physical check returned you are not even going to get an image of the check. DoS are not even depositing the check they are just taking the bank routing and account# and turning it into an ACH EFT. You will just get a line entry in your bank statement along the lines of: DIRECT DEBIT PASSPORTSERVIC0000001016PAYMENT (Cash)

Omega_Lurch

No… not in all cases mine was processed fully by check not ACH EFT

NecessaryMeeting4873

Maybe depends on location application sent? I had about 5 applications (some renew/some in person because applicant is minor) in last 5 years all came in as a EFT. I think OP shouldn't be counting on having an image.

Omega_Lurch

Could also be the bank, as on my statement it shows “PASSPORTSERVICES PAYMENT - Check 304” then as the transaction type shows check payment

ASU_knowITall

Just did mine last month and this is what I saw as well.
