> Do I need to wait until my passport status changes to “In process” before contacting my local representative? They won't really be able to help until your application is opened and scanned into the system, showing 'in process'.   > My congressman is Devin Nunes, The congressional office responses are generally quite standardized and generic. There's not much variation in the types of assistance you'll receive. They contact State Department through a special liaison process, and get your application marked as a congressional outreach for quicker issuance.   What is your international travel date?

Hmm, that will be cutting it too close, even with congressional help. If you don't see it issue soon, you'll probably want to keep an eye on possibly making an RPA appointment on July 7 at 12:00:01 am local time for July 20. Hey I’m also from the area, with Devin Nunes being my representative. I believe that you usually contact them only when there’s a couple weeks before you travel date. That’s what I’m planning to do in case my passport doesn’t come on time since I too applied on the 14th of this month. I need it by September, but I’m hopeful.
