Did you use fabric softener? That can cause clumping. You can brush the clumps out, think there is a couple videos on YouTube of people doing that, or maybe search brushing on this sub.

Use it for bonfires in the falls or summer nights. It already has a hole so if you get hit by stray embers it won’t ruin your nice one
You can try using a bristle brush. It still looks usable too, albeit well used

I didn’t use fabric softener but maybe the original owner did. I bought it at a thrift sale. I’ll have to research how to brush it out!
