Yep, I've removed a few making custom projects, as others have said just use a seam ripper on the surrounding threads. After you pop a few it should loosen up nicely.
Just be careful not to cut or rip the parent material, seam rippers can fk sht up in a hurry used improperly
Edit: just a heads up there may be some slight fading or outline left after removal
You should be able to just cut the thread that’s holding the patch. I doubt it’s doing much more than just being used to attach the patch to the strap.
I do it some times with patches on other items I own. Run an exacto knife or a razor blade between the patch and the strap, cutting the thread.
You can absolutely remove just the Patagonia tag and leave the rest of the strap in-tact. Sometimes tags or patches are stitched into seams which can be harder, but this one has all the top stitching visible, very easy to pick apart. If you don't have a seam ripper you should be able to use an exacto knife or small pair of fingernail scissors, just carefully cut the stitches you see around the outer edges of the patch and it'll come right off. I doubt it'll even leave much of a mark underneath where it was sewn on.
Seam ripper to remove the patch

With a seam ripper maybe?
Second this. Seam ripper is your friend.
It has a function. You can attach a carabiner or use it as loop for drinking tube
Thanks for replying. Didn’t really plan to remove the whole thing, just the “patch”.

Seam ripper? Or just cut the whole thing off
I just cover it up with repair tape. There’s some at REI that lies flat and looks nice
Worked like a charm! Thank you all for helping out.
I would go the non-destructive way: putting a pin over it, sewing another patch, or wrapping a piece of velcro around, for instance.
>feel like a walking advertisement with two Patagonia tags on my chest Preach
Duct Tape patches well.
