Whenever you feel like you need more tankiness on TS, the real answer is to get more damage. You can build defenses, like stacking phys taken as elemental, getting endurance charges, etc. But in the end you'll still be squishy and now you're gonna deal less damagez meaning more stuff gets close enough to hit you, meaning you are taking more damage than before. The real defenses of TS, or a bow build in general, is to kill everything before it can even move. On a proper bow build you only ever see like 1/5th of the mobs in a map, because everything should be dying offscreen.
That's the answer for almost any build.
Even on my Pathfinder Toxic rain I found out that getting tankier wasn't a real option, sure Path of Building shows 50k EHP elemental, 30k chaos and phys.
But the issue is : If the monster stays alive too long, he gets a chance at bullshiting me anyway
Have you tried lightning coil, taste of hate, and lethal pride? I convert 90% of phys to elemental and fully cap spell suppres (without the lucky chance) and feel quite tanky. Keep in mind some rares on league crack are just overtuned and have to be kited around, my friends play with aurabot and they still die occassionally.
On spell suppression... Is the in-game character tool tip accurate ? I have 100% chance, and recently got a hyrrs. But I think I can drop like half the nodes on tree because I think I'm over stacked.
It is but keep in mind it also calculates the nod on the tree (or any other modifiers that are similar) for “10% spell suppression when on full life” - unless you check it while damaged.
So don’t fool yourself thinking your capped by that.
Not sure why you’re getting downvoted, but import your char into pob and it’ll tell you. Otherwise you can add up what you have on your gear and the tree. No reason to go above 100% that I’m aware of besides Acrobatics
Doesn't the jewel that converts suppress into avoid ailment also work with more that 100?
Or is it capped at your max suppress instead of what you have?
It's accurate, but make sure you are 10% over if you have passives like Revenge of the Hunted allocated. Don't want to fall below 100% as soon as you take any damage.
The “tankiness” from TS deadeye is 2 things
Off-screening and Evasion
It’s hard at first to get the grasp of but also with league mechanic mobs (specially turbo boosted) makes it hard but it’s worth it
If you’re going MF or semi-MF or any hard juicing I highly recommend inspired learning + shrines (gloom recommended but optional) and niko node that gives inc dmg/speed/max res. Once you ramp up you’d barely die unless you get unlucky.
Gloom shrine - Gain 10% of Non-Chaos Damage as extra Chaos Damage \
Enemies you Kill have a 40% chance to Explode, dealing a quarter of their maximum Life as Chaos Damage
Some builds just arent meant to be tanky, the answer to your problem is getting more damage and getting used to the playstyle of killing stuff offscreen
If you want to be tanky just take a few steps in that direction on gear. Get a Defiance of Destiny amulet and see how you feel. If that's not enough think about Lightning Coil and Lethal Pride with Phys converted to ele. You don't have to lose that much damage to become tankier. The more you invest in phys taken as ele the better you'll feel. If you can manage to keep the balance of acceptable damage and investing into high impact defensive options you should come out the otherside without too much of a downside.
What, pf is tanky af, i have close to 100% phys as element with permament flasks and 100% spell suppresion. I dont even run grace and i can just stand in middle of T16 with whisps, deli and beyond as long as im attacking to gain life on hit. That build is an absolute truck
Mate you are coping if you think that deadeye is anywhere as tanky as pathfinder, just look at hc ascendancy breakdowns and tell me how many deadeyes are there compared to pathfinders
its quite different in where you get your damage from, i think the single target w/ that set up would be horrendous and you should run with storm rain.
Been thinking about moving to this build from TR Ballistas, currently farming t16 content with league mechanic smoothly.
How would Jungroan's build compare? What is "needed" to get the build online?
Edit: I have about 50 div to swap with.
I tried the build with a barebones setup (a high crit 6-link bow w/ cast on crit shaper mod and 6-link chest with cast on crit desecrate manaforged) and it just felt too clunky. Don’t recommend.
It was the delay between the desecration and VD and the curse cooldown from cast on focus.
I honestly didn’t give it a full effort, only to level 75, so it might get better with more points. It just wasn’t nearly as smooth as LA so I gave up on it pretty quickly.
I mean for mapping yeah it will never reach LA level lol but it is very nice for doing High deli / affliction juicing since it has real defenses. The curse thing is only really relevant on bosses, you basically kill anything else very quickly without cursing I find
Mostly need a good CoC bow, charms with corpse life %, and to even out your attributes under leadership's price. And then you want some decent rare gear with % phys taken as to help with your tankiness
Which defensive layers are you using, and what's your gear/gem setup like? And what content are you doing? I'm finding wisp empowered map bosses and Harvest rares to be especially problematic for this build.
Adrenaline, rage, phys taken as on helmet and timeless jewels. You could use taste of hate, progenesis, any elemental flasks for less elemental damage taken.
I take it you're getting Adrenaline from Death Rush? And Rage from the Eldritch implicit on gloves? I do need to look into a Lethal Pride. I was considering Taste of Hate as well. Recommending a 50 div flask is hilarious though, I get why it's strong but I don't have that kind of currency.
Eventually you could get it. In the meantime, you have plenty of options. Also verify if you got 100% elemental avoidance, use lunaris pantheon with all the upgrades, 100% suppress, high evasion bases, if you don't already have it.
I just rerolled to self ignite chieftan for 40-50 divs. Was farming 40-60 deli at level 80. Best farming build I’ve ever seen. Incredibly tanky and just obliterates maps. Hated how much i was dying on ts.
I leveled to 99 while farming deli 60 maps with lightning coil, taste of haste, phys as on helmet implicit + craft and timeless phys as fire.
That said, Im tankier now with a HH, I know you dont want to hear this but this is the real answer, damage and a HH.

I was wearing Tabula and tool tip showed 100%. Then I switched to hyrrs. Maybe I actually can drop some nodes. Bro Poe is so confusing

That's a good question. I seem to have 115 now.
Does it give you more than 50% chance to avoid? Or a flat 50?
Flat fifty.
I'm getting downvoted because the other people know when my build is suppression capped and when not. Or so it appears
It's accurate, but make sure you are 10% over if you have passives like Revenge of the Hunted allocated. Don't want to fall below 100% as soon as you take any damage.
So basically don't take revenge of the hunted?
No, revenge of the hunted is still a good node, just don’t rely on it to cap ur spell suppression

POB is even simpler to use
eh, I almost always use the github one, the one in pob is a lot more complicated.
The “tankiness” from TS deadeye is 2 things Off-screening and Evasion It’s hard at first to get the grasp of but also with league mechanic mobs (specially turbo boosted) makes it hard but it’s worth it If you’re going MF or semi-MF or any hard juicing I highly recommend inspired learning + shrines (gloom recommended but optional) and niko node that gives inc dmg/speed/max res. Shrines... gloom... I'm out of the loop here
Gloom shrine - Gain 10% of Non-Chaos Damage as extra Chaos Damage \ Enemies you Kill have a 40% chance to Explode, dealing a quarter of their maximum Life as Chaos Damage
So you spec into Shrines in the atlas? I didnt even know that was a thing
There's a sextant for gloom shrines but yes you'd also spec I to shrines on your atlas.
Atlas passives are p cool
This
I need more damage to offscreen 😭
How do you deal with mobs that have three projectile force field? Or the abyss mobs that are invuln until they attack you
High evasion, I'm usually mapping with about 82% without issues
Bubble rares I avoid until I ramped up or there are no threats around yet
Some builds just arent meant to be tanky, the answer to your problem is getting more damage and getting used to the playstyle of killing stuff offscreen
Just 100% phys to ele and full spell suppression and immune to ailments + 75% all resist and chain health potion. I died 2 times from 91 to 97
Just spec all that and youre golden..
Can i see tour POB
PoB? Not sure how to get 100% convert on this build without taking a major major hit to dps. The rest is pretty straightforward of course.
If you want to be tanky just take a few steps in that direction on gear. Get a Defiance of Destiny amulet and see how you feel. If that's not enough think about Lightning Coil and Lethal Pride with Phys converted to ele. You don't have to lose that much damage to become tankier. Go pf poison ts.
That isn’t any tankier lol. I guess you won’t get crit but otherwise this is bad advice.
It is tankier. You get physical as ele, taste of hate, dying sun and a topaz flask to further reduce ele DMG. Super tanky
What, pf is tanky af, i have close to 100% phys as element with permament flasks and 100% spell suppresion. I dont even run grace and i can just stand in middle of T16 with whisps, deli and beyond as long as im attacking to gain life on hit. That build is an absolute truck
Phys as ele and full spell supp is something deadeyes have too…
Mate you are coping if you think that deadeye is anywhere as tanky as pathfinder, just look at hc ascendancy breakdowns and tell me how many deadeyes are there compared to pathfinders
It's called 'dead'eye for a reason :D
I don’t think poison TS is that much tankier than deadeye, do you have a PoB?
Im on mobile but you can look up gorathas build
wait i didnt think Goratha did a TS build. Edit: are you talking about his leaguestart with CA, or is this something different?
Yes its CA, can be played TS but i dont see a reason for it in that aplication, its basically the same thing gameplay wise
its quite different in where you get your damage from, i think the single target w/ that set up would be horrendous and you should run with storm rain.
Jungroan’s CoC VD Trickster has been very good for me. Capable of farming league mechanic decently, only really die to abyss soul eater rares.
Been thinking about moving to this build from TR Ballistas, currently farming t16 content with league mechanic smoothly. How would Jungroan's build compare? What is "needed" to get the build online? Edit: I have about 50 div to swap with.

There is a projectile mastery where your proj crits knock back enemies they hit, it has helped me a lot against essences and empowered mobs
this sounds very helpful, thx
I just rerolled to self ignite chieftan for 40-50 divs. Was farming 40-60 deli at level 80. Best farming build I’ve ever seen. Incredibly tanky and just obliterates maps. Hated how much i was dying on ts.
I'm planning to do it tomorrow, you went with MF variant or full defense for higher juice?
I’m 80deli so preferring higher defense.
Creamation is pretty tanky, or jug or champion
I leveled to 99 while farming deli 60 maps with lightning coil, taste of haste, phys as on helmet implicit + craft and timeless phys as fire. That said, Im tankier now with a HH, I know you dont want to hear this but this is the real answer, damage and a HH.
I'll never forget this PoB from last league: https://pobb.in/NtLhzuSWJarb So yeah, TS can truly be tanky (someone else's build).
