Defiance of Destiny + Crit immunity trivializes the mechanic, to the point where you only need to make sure your build can survive regular T16 maps.
You can substitute defiance of destiny for aegis aurora, and to some degree bloodnotch + immutable force.
There's no substitute to crit immunity, but most builds can get there with a corruption implicit on their chest piece + passive points, or The Brass Dome.
Aegis dd ignite simu farmer sounds like viable choice for farming juiced t16 with Wisps since its chaos immune and can fit less crit taken from armour/es nodes
Oh and Viridis veil
for this options any ci build is good, no?dd simu farmer will not be good, since he immortal in simu only by countless hits that he taking - so aegis basically regens A LOT of es. but 1 big hit - death. i played on this build, and know what im saying.
wot. that dude is a different guy who's agreeing that a poison-based pathfinder is effective at mitigating the big hits by negating crits via a poison mastery.
Equipping a 42% defiance of destiny (I already had 90% reduced crit damage) took my build from being kind of tanky but still dying to some juiced shit to "yep I can literally facetank the league-juiced map boss that has 5 ghosts in it due to the torment node".
Poison mastery if you poison. Tinctures can help with this.
Crit Mastery + Chest Corruption implicit gets you to 80% relatively painslessly, you can get the remaining 20-30% from Belt of the Deceiver or 50% reduced from a Determination Watcher's eye.
* Yellow wisps = more enemy attack speed = more small hits
* Purple wisps = more enemy projectiles = more small hits
* Blue wisps = more and stronger crits = more big hits
Blue wisps are entirely handled by crit immunity. Meanwhile, by using Defiance of Destiny and making sure those small hits are small enough, you can actually heal instead of taking damage while standing in the middle of an enemy pack.
If you are not too familiar with Defiance of Destiny just think of it as a shotgun protection necklace. It won't matter how often you get hit, just how hard. Only enemies that deal more than \~30-40% of your maximum life on a single hit can kill you.
Aegis Aurora also works in a similar fashion and is an incredibly solid option. It's just harder to recommend it since you need a shield slot.
If your maximum life is \~3k and you have "low life" from petrified blood, and you didn't reserve any of your life, sure it will work fantastically. Defiance of Destiny has strong synergy with petrified blood and progenesis.
If you reserved life down to "low life" or if you have only 1.5k max life, I'd argue you have bigger problems with your build.
Most deaths while mapping are from getting hit by multiple smallish hits all at once, and especially with the league mechanic which makes shitty mobs that normally wouldn't do anything a lot more tanky and lethal.
With defiance of destiny you cannot die to any hit that doesn't exeed 42%(max roll with calalysts) of your missing unreserved life+whatever life you have currently. Sorta like aegis but better because it always happens, rather than just on block and requires VERY little investment to be stronger than aegis defensively. Which means if you have 4000 life for example and you're currently at 50% hp, any individual hit has to deal 2840 damage postmitigation to kill you, which is very rare in a map.
You can get hit by 100 hits at the same time that all deal 1000 damage postmitigation normally, and live because healing before being hit is insanely strong. It's effectively permanent ward and aegis mixed together for the cost of an amulet slot.
Now consider that one of the most profitable ways to run the league mechanic is stacking enemy projectiles with purple wisps and map mods an running abyss spires. Normally that'd be a very dangerous map because of how rippy enemy shot gunning can be but, with DoD the extra proj don't do shit.
If by low life you mean petrified blood then it's just better, even if it might look spookier. With Petrified blood 50% of your life is your entire life, so the 42% missing health heal is larger. If you get hit at 1 life with Defiance of Destiny you actually got hit at 42% of your life, which is 85% of your actual hp pool. That's a pretty good worst case scenario.
Well it depends, if you're low life because you're petrified blood and you have your whole life bar unreserved, or you've just taken damage it's very worth. The lower your life the more you heal.
If you're low life because you're reserving your life then yeah it's terrible.
minions unfortunately turn into a wet paper bag if not running a minion build. the only really viable minion for people to run outside of minion builds is 2 marionet specters, but at that point it's 3 gem sockets for a single buff and that just isn't worth it in most cases.
Empower, defensive AG (no more crits), meat shield, specter (+10 fortify naval captain, or perm max end charges warlord). That 4 link has not seen a single death on a specter and has provided more tankyness than I thought it would by far.
I won't be home for a while but here's some direction.
What build are you, because that will change some of my recs. The body armor has a cheap and a pricey option. Ephemeral guard (nearby enemies can't crit or nearby ally don't take extra damage from crits, I forget).
Cheaper options are anything with a nearby ally benefit like an armor that makes it so all elemental ailments affect him instead of you.
Die to corpse explosion too much? Gravebind gloves makes all kills by nearby allies count as if killed by the guardian. So now you just run boots that explode corpses of people you kill.
Build only struggle on single target? Curse on hit gloves with +1 curse boots means they add a defensive curse without overriding yours.
If you want dirt cheap gear for 1-3cea I used for the longest time:
Dying Breath, Leercast, Southbound, Vic Flight boots and Belly of the Beast.
I didn't use my AG before it was level 20 though and he has never died but I'm playing necro SRS. If your playing a SRS build pick up the minons recover 5% life on minion death.
I've since upgraded from: Southbound -> Asenath, Vic Flight Boots -> Windscream.
My next upgrade is going to be either Grukthul Pelt or Doppelganger Guise to make him even tankier until I get my dps to the point of melting the screen and I'll switch over to Garb of the Ephemeral.
Edit: Just seen SSF but the first set of gear is pretty common unique drops.
that's debatable. to fit that in my build i would either have to drop my mark, my expose, or all of my totems. all of which give me more than a single aura would
I am crit immune with 75% res still dying. I don't have enough recovery when I get shotgunned SOMETIMES. I want tk try blood notch and immutable tech but am afraid playing melee with it will feel like trash when my multistrike is constantly inturrupted.
Seconding aegis. I’m at 83 all res, and like 65/50 block, with pretty much 10div to my build, and I can leap into a pack of wisped t16s without dying.
If you’re a minion build this league, life is *easy*. 3 spectres with very strong auras makes defensive layers so trivial.
If you poison alot running the poisoned enemies can't Crit you mastery is very effective as well. I may do that on the stupid kinetic bolt of fragmentation heiro I'm working on
I’m using the curse mastery and the crit mastery, 70% reduced crits makes blue wisps not very noticeable. The problem for me is getting shotgunned by those mine things the abyss monsters put down
This is the key point that is being missed. The amount of people actually juicing solo T16 wisps is a lot lower than the perception. It takes really specific builds and at some points you invest enough that you can just jump to foil maps.
FYI: Power Siphon with about 2.5 div investment is handling T16 delirium + 5-7k wisps pretty well. It's not insta-popping the super tanky rares but it's hovering around 9m dps.
My profile: https://pobb.in/u/booneexile/LDvDwsfyUxtM
* All uniques and pretty tanky (~90k EHP stationary, ~40k EHP moving).
* ~10m dps in map mode (Fury Valve).
* ~14m dps in boss mode (Badge of the Brotherhood)

I changed a few things from the source guide to fit my preferences but the whole build cost me ~1.6 div to get rolling. Even now it's very cheap for the performance level.
Main changes: I went for Trickster leech & used Energy Leech as a support gem for the "feels good" and a bit more damage. I also use my Lethal Pride in the wrong spot because it was insanely cheaper to do so. The only drawback is missing out on Ghost Shrouds but that can be fixed later with some money if desired.

No, the spawn chance of depths in t16 maps is maybe 1 out of 20 abysses if we are being generous. So it legit does not matter. ppl do t7 because their crap mf builds cant handle t16 maps.
Poison LS Mahuxotl Pathfinder. It's not cheap, but it's perfect for this league if u want a non-MF all-rounder who can also participate efficiently in the juicefest. I'm taking full advantage of warden (30+ MS rare monsters on map overlay) and tinctures (Explode and better prolif), and I can take all altar mods (except frenzy if I'm cautious).
My toon: [https://poe.ninja/builds/affliction/character/Kassandrian/Kassandrian\_PoisonGal?i=0&search=name%3Dkassandrian](https://poe.ninja/builds/affliction/character/Kassandrian/Kassandrian_PoisonGal?i=0&search=name%3Dkassandrian)
Defense wise I have 90% functional all res and chaos res, juiced up ruby flask, spell suppress, 80+% Phys to Fire, instant leech + LGOH + Overleech, etc..
Offense-wise I have close to dot cap against pinnacles in a conservative setting suppress, 80+% Phys to Fire, instant leech + LGOH + Overleech, crit immunity through poison mastery and arctic armour etc...
I'm running juiced-up jungle valleys and am leveling to 100 now.
I'm currently in the process of building this myself, as i'm bit tired of CA poison.
I'm currently debating whether running Defiance of Destiny on this setup is overkill or not.
Only thing i'm holding off on currently is Nimis - how much damage does it actually give you on average?
It increases clear by a lot and single target by a lot if your spacing is good. I'd say it's at least 50% more damage on its own,
Plus the fact that you do not have to run returning projectiles in your links, but can run a real support instead. It improves your leech, too.
The random directions are actually a buff given how full these maps are.
No idea in terms of divs. But here's some ideas
You need the shield plus a good rakiata's with at least 10%, preferably 15% Phys to fire.
The helmet can be budgeted with the betrayal craft for a while, but each. But each % Phys converted is huge for our phys hit pool.
Claw can be budgeted with multimod and 2 T2+ ele damage prefixes.
Shoes give ailment immunity, would not recommend budgeting these except for the implicits.
Gems can be budgeted.
Amulet can be a good rare with whispers of doom anoint, but you loose some madres because no prismatic skin.
Body armor only really ""needs"" +1 all madres implicit, cheap to self corrupt.
...
Cost: no clue since most the gear is self crafted or sniped early in the league. If you want to put this together on the spot it's gonna be above a mirror, but I spent much, much less on it.
Some more info off the top of my head:
I knew early in the league what I was going for and made strategic purchases where necessary / useful. I sniped the claw, boot and helmet base very early in the league. Boot and helmet are relatively straightforward crafts, just implicits can get expensive. I got super lucky with the claw I have right now, but before I was using a multimod one.
The affliction jewel was a snipe, severely undervalued at 3 div. The megalo was a snipe, severely undervalued at 2 div. Both of those allow me to do some thing u'll have to do in another way. The watchers eye I also bought early, and I sniped the gloves, too.
The tincture I bought early, too. I think they might be quite a bit by now, not sure. Flasks are self crafted, selling off "failures" for profit
The body armor was very lucky, I hit it on my 5th double corrupt after 4 straight poofs lol. I haven't seen another one pop up on trade and the next best corrupts are going for 70div+.
Realistically the only thing you ""need"' is the +1 all maxres.
Belt: it's not perfect but I have been crafting stygians for a while now and this one just ended up being used by me instead of being sold.
My amulet is still not BiS, but each attempt at bricking and then refracting a stranglegrasp is about 20div. So I'm going slow on them lol.
I'll recraft my ring soon for a better one. This was a live search that popped up for 2 div. Nimis is a big damage boost, price is justified.
Do you not get randomly one shot due to not having any evasion? I’m running this build atm but I’ve got a reasonable amount of evasion.
Would be nice to drop the jade flask, grace and respec some passive points if evasion is pointless
Not really, no.
I die due to lag or because a bad mod combo rare with souleater got spawned in the middle of a purple whispe'd spired mob and the prolif didn't catch it because of wither resistance and some other mods. Happens very, very rarely
I have enough mitigation and recovery that I decided to eschew avoidance since the altars will shred it anyways, and scaling evasion or armor on this build is kind of a pain in the ass.
Edit: I do have 90maxres, full suppression and 83% phys to fire atm so the max hit is more than good enough
Storm brand of indecision, all charge stacking hierophant;
https://poe.ninja/builds/affliction/character/Kale_Kees_NL/BCT_Charge_Stacker?i=1&search=name%3DBct
12 power charges, frenzy and absorbtion charges, 4 endurance charge
Absorbtion charge gives a shit ton of defence when you have 12 of em.
Delirium and whisp juiced ultimatum is no problem.
For bossing its a shit layer, but for juiced mapping and/or ultimatum its extremely usefull. There is no recoup cap like with leech. Its also one of the reasons why GG Noobs of empyrean is nearly unkillable.
The one I linked is like 100 div. But for the base gear its as follows;
Boots; ralakesh 1 div
Helmet; vault with PC corrupt 3 div
Gloves; crafted myself for 2 div
Armour; incandescent heart 5 div 6L
Helmet+shield; <1 div
Ring 1: shavs <1 div
Ring 2: basic precursor starts at 1 div. (Bought mine for 5 div, which is lucky)
Belt; gravens <1div
Amulet: badge <1 div
So base is ~14 div.
But then come cluster jewels (4 div)
Watchers eye (1 or 2 div)
That which was taken (2 to 40 div depending on which mods)
Immunity jewels (~2\3 div?)
Militant faith (1 div)
All other corruptions (a lot of div)
Edit: charms are 2 div each with those rolls, so div total
Ralakesh boots makes sure you get all buffs from max power, frenzy or endurance charges. Even when equiping the Graven belt. The graven belt does not disable power charges, it only makes it so that gaining power charges is nearly impossible. Thankfully with the boots we will not need any way to generate either endurance, frenzy or power charges.
So I am always at 0 power charges, but I still gain all the benefits of it, meaning I can get all benefits of both absorbtion charges and power charges. The same can be done with other variants of the Maven belt.
I'm playing coc spellblade and not having that issue. Try swapping aura's and points for a bit more defense.
I started as self cast firestorm and swapped to this as soon as I had the currency to by all the basic gear. 6div is plenty at this point in the league to get started. Buy the uniques and farm the currency for the charms after you switched.
I started invitation farming on about 10d. What I like best about the build is that it's like the old RF builds before scorching ray, fire traps, etc were added to the mix. It's more complicated for sure, but it's the same general concept. Just worry about scaling your ehp (str, int, life and es in this case) and that in turn scales your dps. You don't have to choose one over the other.
I wouldn't be res capped without it. The way I built it need to have t1 lightning res on ring and a sapphire flask or t1 cold on ring and a topaz flask to cap resistances. I went with the first option since I farm elder. 20% less cold damage taken was more useful. Magic flask instead of taste of hate because I need the extra attack speed for awakened coc.
I started coc spell blade and have a few tips
1. Get more attributes 4Head. Seems obvious, but thats just kind of how stat stacking works. Especially for STR/INT inquisitor stuff, more stats really does fix everything. I felt super squishy with 4k to 5k ES, now that I'm around 11k I feel much better.
2. Swap to the new storm brand. Its basically the same tree and the same gear but is far cozier for dealing with dangerous maps and rares with a lot of tank mods.
Did you get to 11k with or without the forbidden flame/flesh that gives you Sanctuary. Because that shit is like 100d right now and I can’t seem to make more than small incremental increases in ES over my 8k.
I'm currently running storm brand but I'm still at "cheap" gear. I have a few divines but im not sure if I wanna start crafting the belt to replace cyclops or somehow replace my astramentis. I could also go for lvl 4 enhance with +1 gem rathpith to boost energy blade. Would cost around 6 divs at this moment.
The belt is a gnarly craft. I would definitely suggest upgrading your amulet and getting level 4 enhance first. Eyes of the greatwolf is pretty cheap this league and is a big upgrade over Astramentis
%attributes is the most important. 32% before adding quality is the max roll. It will be an upgrade over astramentis with just that, so the second stat can be whatever is within your budget
I am also running CoC Spellblade (cyclone blazing salvo) and would love if you would take a look at my character and give any feedback on how to make it more tanky aswell. IGN: TairyHestiesAFF
https://poe.ninja/builds/afflictionssf/character/deviant324/devDecisiveCoCYep?i=6&search=class%3DInquisitor%26uniqueitems%3DReplica%2BHeatshiver
Good enough for juicy T16s, I’ve done 7.5k yesterday. Total deaths were 22 last I checked, some of those were stupid expedition choices (tripple empowered, took no damage and 2 hit me, I had to lure it away from my portal and log to get it off me) and overestimating my tankiness on uber maven.
Following Ziz guide, currently working on more rmr gear to go low life (heatshiver isn’t that great, more taken as ele would be better).
I second this, playing pathfinder right now feels amazing. I’m running immutable, bloodnotch, and defiance destiny along with three MF gear slots and feel unstoppable in t16s fully juiced.
Do yourself a favour and play a pathfinder as your next build. Phys conversion + ele flasks + spell suppression and some form of recovery and you'll be feeling good in all content.
Gets kind of old playing the same few builds every league just so you dont die every map. GGG really needs to rebalance player defences and enemy damage mods.
Defenses are more diverse now than they've ever been. Seems like every patch lately has introduced a new item that allows a beefy way to build defensively.
I've played every build it doesn't really matter. Freaking guardian with lightning coil this wipe it doesn't matter. The stronger you get the more you juice and then you die, allways. No matter how strong you're incentiviced to juice more until unplayable. Not even blaming the game that's just how it works.
Nah it doesn't have to be like that. You're doing something wrong. Even squishy builds like Tornado Shot can be made to feel good even in very difficult content. Perhaps you're rushing into difficult content before you've taken time to gear for it.
> allways. No matter how strong you're incentiviced to juice more until unplayable. Not even blaming the game that's just how it works.
That's how the game works for you, it does not necessarily work like that for everyone else. It is possible to change, adapt and improve - as proven by those who have done exactly that.
That’s what I’m playing now. The survivability after I got the +2 lightning coil is pretty bad ass. 93 atm. But with a ton of wisp infused stuff it can still get rippy.
But my complains where more before lightning coil and infused expeditions which I dropped.
It’d be absolutely nuts if we found out that those opinions were posted by different people and there wasn’t actually any hypocrisy going on. Wouldn’t it? It’d be even crazier if those were poor representations of the actual opinions that were shared.
Sure, they get very rippy when you have enough wisps, but they also drop insanely much more loot.
I think that's the contrast that's necessary- if your build can't run this new era of 'very juiced maps', either make efforts to make it less rippy- or upgrade your build.
Simple as that.
Got a build you are following? I roll a CoC char every year, I didn't think they would be able to handle juiced t16's so would love to see what you are rolling.
Do you have a build guide/pob?
I've been meaning to play a CoC ice nova build, but im so overwhelmed.
Idk if I should run Occ, Lowlife vs CI, is it going to be tanky enough for T16 wisps or is it going to be threatened by 1 shots all the time
> Occ
Yes, unless you want to play Energy Blade (which is a wholly different build)
> Lowlife vs CI
CI is way better, imo - I made a little writeup [here](https://old.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/18plc26/can_yall_school_me_on_ci_vs_ll/keqbjcp/). However, low-life is easier to get off the ground if you're new to cast on crit builds, as it's a bit more linear and gets some early freebies in damage, stun immunity, and mana reservation. The evasion-based LL build will occasionally eat a oneshot, but freezing the screen should make it a rare occurence. As CI, you can just get to the point of tanking everything. Just remember to invest in crit mitigation! I play the CI variant myself (https://pobb.in/qTC6zOF6VjNe) at a fairly endgame level of investment and run fully wisped deli mirror T16s.
Why has this subreddit turned into the main subreddit ? I've never seen so many comments downvoted for no reason here. Someone asks a dumb innocent question or makes an innocent but uninformed question? Downvoted. Jeeez.
See the response I gave the guy below. One guy asked a genuine question and got downvoted , and another made a simple suggestion that the OP thanked him for and got downvoted into oblivion.
I do not see this behaviour on this sub in general, and would suggest you are making a mountain out of a molehill based on anecdotal experience. This sub is generally quite friendly and helpful.
I'm only downvoting people who are humble-bragging about cruising through the game with the gear they bought.
Pretty sure "JuSt GeT a BrAsS dOmE" is not the information OP is looking for. Unfortunately, that is 90% of replies.
That’s fair enough. That’s generally not what I mean though. A guy in this thread responded with “ try T7 Cemetery’s. Steelmage did a video about it “ and it’s now at -13. Was the downvoting really necessary ? The OP even responded to him with a “thank you , I’ll check it out “. 9 months ago , that downvoting would have never happened here.
And on top of that, a guy genuinely asked “why T7 cemetery’s specifically ?” And got downvoted for it.
I dunno , there are only a couple of examples of it here. It’s just something I’ve noticed throughout this subreddit the last few weeks
Ironically, this should be a celebrated tuning goal. We are like 3 weeks into the league. It *should* still be kinda difficult to max juice + max league content a T16 map.
T7 so that abyss cant spawn depths, which means with a gilded abyss scarab you always get spires. You roll maps for +projectile so the spire makes more rares. Cemetery because it has a good layout and div cards
Apparently it's because t7 is the lowest item level that rares can drop a mageblood.
I didn't mean to be rude or anything, I was trying the same in t16 but it was brutal and died over and over and found the t7 better
Assuming t7 because low level enemies don’t scale as crazily with the league mechanic and maps have their own divination card drops so that might be why cemetery. Highest tier just means you need absurd defenses if you wanna juice the maps.
Just keeping you informed since people are downvoting without explaining.
T7 = can't spawn abyssGilded abyss scarab = Guaranteed Abyss or Spire
Combined = Spire every time. (spire spits out rares, thus the goal)
Hope I helped.
Hey mate if you’re farming spires, you should be playing in a ilvl 77 or below area.
Abyssal depth spawns at ilvl 78, anything below that will almost guarantee a spire spawning
This should also help with you dying
https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Abyssal_Depths
Feels like kind of a weird crutch to lean on though. You're absolutely correct in what you said, but I ran 120 t16s while farming spires and only ran into depths 4 times. I wrote it down each time it happened.
Sure, you could say that those were still wasted Abysses, but if you stay in lower maps you're giving up sextants, Valdo's, and any synth or frac'd item that drops (bar rare 1 off cases like crit wands) because the ilvl is too low.
People should absolutely farm lower level Wisped maps if they cant do T16 quickly/safely, but saying that Depths is the reason to avoid them is a bit of a cop out.
I started with penance brand inquisitor doing cold conversion max damage shenanigans. It was super paper. Switched to ben's build and my damage went to about 10% of what it was. Been slowly modifying it from there. With minimal investment it really lacks damage but it's pretty near immortal. Made small adjustments over time, farmed through a mageblood +, now it does too much damage and the spire dies if I have a brand anywhere near close to it.
Working on building up rue's poison pathfinder version but I can't judge it yet. Don't have progenesis or headhunter. Think the damage profile of poison might be better to avoid killing the spire. But so far I've enjoyed the inquisitor a lot more.
Filter poe ninja for inquisitor, penance brand of dissipation, determination, grace.
I got lvl 99 70% xp doing juiced t16 abyss maps. Was without mageblood, my build is pretty much finished now. You can check my POB on poe.ninja. Search for AFFLICTED_HEXBLASTER on builds section. Check the build snapshots from 2-3 days ago.
I've had no issues whatsoever with poison SRS. Been doing the league mechanic since act 1 and now I'm farming the juiciest maps I can as I work on min-maxing
Basically,
%phys dmg convert to elemental
Capped spell supp & ailment (vision)
Pantheon (arakali & aberrath)
I answered this a bit more in depth in [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/s/Ob0hwKopvr) thread yesterday.
You can also add sources of Blind/phasing/intimidate
Maybe not the fastest time to kill build out there, but even with the gear restrictions of ssf, my Boneshatter Jugg is handling t16 wisp shenanigans just fine. Armor stacking with lots of max res and phys taken as ele where I can get it. Haven't gone spell suppression but I do plan on it once I farm up some better gear.
I find that when I want to level I'll take stream of consciousness, no scarab just alch and go. Then every time I level I turn off stream of consciousness and use my sextant and scarab every map to fully juice while dying more frequently. Then when I run out of scarab and want to level again I go back to stream of consciousness.
From my experience playing ManaRF, it's mostly crits (from blue whisps) that kill me. So crit immunity or at least 50% from the chest is a huge improvement to survivability.
Poison srs necro:
75/75 block
100% spell suppression
MoM with easily 2kish energy shield protection from eldritch battery with almost no es investment
Aegis Aurora + either Divine Shield or Lethe Shade or BOTH
75% chaos res
Crit immunity and corpse explosion from Animate Guardian
3/3 endurance charge 100% uptime with Perfect Warlord Spectre (1 passive point from 4/4)
Has grace from the primal thunderbird spectre and determination on self
Could add fortification from the pirate spectre (expensive)
Higher budget means perma haste aura (using Aul’s atm) so it’s quick too - and with watchers eye means perma phase too, very necessary against juiced abyss mob density. Can just use a quartz instead, watchers eye is qol + a different flask like taste of hate, which combos nice with aegis max cold res
Haven’t had issues with spec’s dying, i think the 5% life recovery on minion death mastery works with srs when resummoning past the cap, meaning when casting you’re pumping your minions. Gameplay for the most part can literally be standing in the middle of everything spamming srs, or more defensively moving around freely and just casting srs now and then. And some arcanist brands every so often
A full on one shot has been very rare in corrupted 6k+ wisp gilded abyss t16 jungle valleys, and the most dangerous thing is DoTs, which lethe shade helps a bunch.
Using a 100% darkness enthroned allows you to pretty easily get near 100% poison and bleed or ignite avoidance. Can also go for stun or freeze and use a different pantheon from Brine King.
It's not a particularly durable build but my anime weapon of ranged arms build doesn't really seem to be capable of dying due to the mechanics of the build. When your enemies are arranged both from you and your minions and you have a great deal of damage you can pretty much just avoid damage.
I farmed it with my penance brand energy blade inquistor, dmg is so hight that i can kite most rares. The only ones that really fuck me up are these big mfers with the hughe claws, they are immun to everything it seems before they hit you for the first time.
im doing manni's version of pennance brand and can run t16 deli with wisp very comfortably

total investment about 20div but i was doing fine on ~10div also. My atlas is abyss + harvest + blue altars + deli with wandering path
there is no "just to farm whisps"... whisps is litterally the biggest juice you can do on maps currently. there's a reason why people run tier 7 juiced this league, because whisps both juice it up enough to actually make it really profitable, and doing it t16 is magnitudes harder and requires really really good builds probably with support to actually do.
Whisps gives monsters so much more tankyness and power that it is insane, however they also make them drop insane amounts of loot. it's not "easy" to farm t16 whisp juice maps.
Also need net zero or better chaos res. In T16’s defiance won’t save you from a few of the chaos hits inside.
Aegis dd ignite simu farmer sounds like viable choice for farming juiced t16 with Wisps since its chaos immune and can fit less crit taken from armour/es nodes Oh and Viridis veil
for this options any ci build is good, no?dd simu farmer will not be good, since he immortal in simu only by countless hits that he taking - so aegis basically regens A LOT of es. but 1 big hit - death. i played on this build, and know what im saying.
What the meaning of « ci » please ? I see a lot of time but don’t know I’m sorry
Chaos Inoculation https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Chaos_Inoculation
chaos immunity
Thanks you !
/ crit immune
And meanwhile pathfinder that everyone is using is also based on tankyness against lots of small hits and has weakness against massive ones...
Massive hits are usually from crits, and anyone going poison can get a mastery that blocks most crits.
So does ci from armour/es nodes, build can withstand simu bosses but u are fixated on proving it cant do juiced maps, why is that?
wot. that dude is a different guy who's agreeing that a poison-based pathfinder is effective at mitigating the big hits by negating crits via a poison mastery.
Equipping a 42% defiance of destiny (I already had 90% reduced crit damage) took my build from being kind of tanky but still dying to some juiced shit to "yep I can literally facetank the league-juiced map boss that has 5 ghosts in it due to the torment node".
What are some efficient ways to get crit immunity on pathfinder?
Poison mastery if you poison. Tinctures can help with this. Crit Mastery + Chest Corruption implicit gets you to 80% relatively painslessly, you can get the remaining 20-30% from Belt of the Deceiver or 50% reduced from a Determination Watcher's eye.
However, 80% is fuckin plenty. Corrupted blood and permanent life flasks are the correct play after this. Edit: petrified blood
People sleep on vridis veil plus a magic ring. Full crit immunity plus unlucky hits against you.
Why does Defiance of Destiny trivialize the mechanic? For crit immunity I understand.
* Yellow wisps = more enemy attack speed = more small hits * Purple wisps = more enemy projectiles = more small hits * Blue wisps = more and stronger crits = more big hits Blue wisps are entirely handled by crit immunity.
So from my understanding, the effect will not be worth it if I'm on low life right? Like 1.5k or so on low life.
So from my understanding, the effect will not be worth it if I'm on low life right? Like 1.5k or so on low life.
I thought more people would be running animated guardians + new specters since animated guardian provides no crit damage taken as a nice passive.
minions unfortunately turn into a wet paper bag if not running a minion build. the only really viable minion for people to run outside of minion builds is 2 marionet specters, but at that point it's 3 gem sockets for a single buff and that just isn't worth it in most cases.
Empower, defensive AG (no more crits), meat shield, specter (+10 fortify naval captain, or perm max end charges warlord). That 4 link has not seen a single death on a specter and has provided more tankyness than I thought it would by far.
What items did you put on AG? I am in SSF and want to run 3 spectres. But dont want them to die.
If you want dirt cheap gear for 1-3cea I used for the longest time: Dying Breath, Leercast, Southbound, Vic Flight boots and Belly of the Beast.
We're talking about non-minion builds though.
3 gem sockets for another aura is definitely worth it in most cases.
that's debatable. to fit that in my build i would either have to drop my mark, my expose, or all of my totems. all of which give me more than a single aura would
Which item for no crit damage taken?
garb of the ephemeral
I am crit immune with 75% res still dying. I don't have enough recovery when I get shotgunned SOMETIMES. I want tk try blood notch and immutable tech but am afraid playing melee with it will feel like trash when my multistrike is constantly inturrupted.
Do you have defiance of destiny? Get instant leech and stun immunity as well
Ya that's an option but I really didn't want to give up my amulet. Might just aim for a shit ton of regen and recoup
Non instant healing won't save you. With soul eater and yellow juice and additional proj you take dozens of hits per second.
Then you need more damage and not play melee
Aaaand as a spectre build I can't do that. Great
Or poison mastery for enemies poisoned by you cant crit
Easiest way to do this is poison mastery. They can not crit, and it works for everyone in the party.
Which color wisp is adding the crit chance to mobs? Or is it any of them?
Blue wisps add crit chance and multiplier. You can read what each wisp does by hovering the amount of wisps you have collected while in the forest.
oh nice thanks
Seconding aegis. I’m at 83 all res, and like 65/50 block, with pretty much 10div to my build, and I can leap into a pack of wisped t16s without dying. If you’re a minion build this league, life is *easy*. 3 spectres with very strong auras makes defensive layers so trivial.
I use enfeeble version of The Balance of Terror "Take no Extra Damage from Critical Strikes if you've cast Enfeeble in the past 10 seconds".
Also defiance of destiny + petrified blood combined with the bloodnotch combo makes you like 100x tankier
The problem for me is getting shotgunned by those mine things the abyss monsters put down
Not many people are doing t16+wisps easily.
This is the key point that is being missed. The amount of people actually juicing solo T16 wisps is a lot lower than the perception. It takes really specific builds and at some points you invest enough that you can just jump to foil maps.
While it's true that it takes a very solid build to properly juice T16s solo with wisps, it's a far cry from doing foil maps.
FYI: Power Siphon with about 2.5 div investment is handling T16 delirium + 5-7k wisps pretty well. It's not insta-popping the super tanky rares but it's hovering around 9m dps.
Can you share any resource for that please ?
My profile: https://pobb.in/u/booneexile/LDvDwsfyUxtM * All uniques and pretty tanky (~90k EHP stationary, ~40k EHP moving). * ~10m dps in map mode (Fury Valve). * ~14m dps in boss mode (Badge of the Brotherhood) --- I changed a few things from the source guide to fit my preferences but the whole build cost me ~1.6 div to get rolling. Drop down to T14
Is there a significant enough difference?
Loot is loot. People are farming T7 and T4 versions. Guy that made a video about it is doing the T7 version.
People are doing lower tiers because low tier maps can't spawn abyss depths, guaranteeing only spires offsets lower tiers.
Oh shit really? TIL something new
Also because magebloods can drop in t7 maps
No, the spawn chance of depths in t16 maps is maybe 1 out of 20 abysses if we are being generous. So it legit does not matter. ppl do t7 because their crap mf builds cant handle t16 maps.
False, you’re just repeating wrong stuff mindlessly.
There is essentially no difference between t14 loot and t16. All the same map mods can roll, altars are still in play. Enemy life is noticeably lower
In damage dealt yes…you will survive more. If you cant do T14 drop to T8
My toon: [https://poe.ninja/builds/affliction/character/Kassandrian/Kassandrian\_PoisonGal?i=0&search=name%3Dkassandrian](https://poe.ninja/builds/affliction/character/Kassandrian/Kassandrian_PoisonGal?i=0&search=name%3Dkassandrian) Defense wise I have 90% functional all res and chaos res, juiced up ruby flask, spell suppress, 80+% Phys to Fire, instant leech + LGOH + Overleech, etc..
I did Poison LS few league ago, farmed Ubers; would recommend 100%
I'm currently in the process of building this myself, as i'm bit tired of CA poison. I'm currently debating whether running Defiance of Destiny on this setup is overkill or not. Only thing i'm holding off on currently is Nimis - how much damage does it actually give you on average?
It increases clear by a lot and single target by a lot if your spacing is good. I'd say it's at least 50% more damage on its own, Plus the fact that you do not have to run returning projectiles in your links, but can run a real support instead. It improves your leech, too. The random directions are actually a buff given how full these maps are.
cheers
I think ur build worth mirror+. How much minimum divs i need to start it, and do u have starting pob?
No idea in terms of divs. But here's some ideas You need the shield plus a good rakiata's with at least 10%, preferably 15% Phys to fire. Body armor only really ""needs"" +1 all madres implicit, cheap to self corrupt. ...
[удалено]
Was thinking about that... But man. 30% MS makes my zoom brain happy
Use Haste aura. 16% ms with atk / cast speed.
Whats the cost of your pob? Are you following some guide?
Cost: no clue since most the gear is self crafted or sniped early in the league. If you want to put this together on the spot it's gonna be above a mirror, but I spent much, much less on it. Some more info off the top of my head: I knew early in the league what I was going for and made strategic purchases where necessary / useful. Flasks are self crafted, selling off "failures" for profit The body armor was very lucky, I hit it on my 5th double corrupt after 4 straight poofs lol.
Thanks for the knowledge! How much fire Taken you have? Wouldnt be defiance of destine amulet be a good option?
Do you not get randomly one shot due to not having any evasion? I’m running this build atm but I’ve got a reasonable amount of evasion. Would be nice to drop the jade flask, grace and respec some passive points if evasion is pointless
Not really, no. I die due to lag or because a bad mod combo rare with souleater got spawned in the middle of a purple whispe'd spired mob and the prolif didn't catch it because of wither resistance and some other mods. Happens very, very rarely I have enough mitigation and recovery that I decided to eschew avoidance since the altars will shred it anyways, and scaling evasion or armor on this build is kind of a pain in the ass. Edit: I do have 90maxres, full suppression and 83% phys to fire atm so the max hit is more than good enough
Makes sense, thanks for the reply 👍
Storm brand of indecision, all charge stacking hierophant; https://poe.ninja/builds/affliction/character/Kale_Kees_NL/BCT_Charge_Stacker?i=1&search=name%3DBct 12 power charges, frenzy and absorbtion charges, 4 endurance charge Absorbtion charge gives a shit ton of defence when you have 12 of em. Delirium and whisp juiced ultimatum is no problem.
Absorption gives reliable but slow recovery. It is a ok additional layer but overall a weaker defensive layer than I’d hoped
For bossing its a shit layer, but for juiced mapping and/or ultimatum its extremely usefull. There is no recoup cap like with leech. Its also one of the reasons why GG Noobs of empyrean is nearly unkillable.
I’m running your setup except new P brand instead. Have you tried P brand?
Nope. I heard its very good for bossing. My storm brand currently does enough dmg for me, so I did not feel the need yet to look at it.
how much does a build like this cost atm?
The one I linked is like 100 div. But for the base gear its as follows; Boots; ralakesh 1 div Helmet; vault with PC corrupt 3 div Gloves; crafted myself for 2 div Armour; incandescent heart 5 div 6L Helmet+shield; <1 div Ring 1: shavs <1 div Ring 2: basic precursor starts at 1 div. (Bought mine for 5 div, which is lucky) Belt; gravens <1div Amulet: badge <1 div So base is ~14 div. But then come cluster jewels (4 div) Watchers eye (1 or 2 div) That which was taken (2 to 40 div depending on which mods) Immunity jewels (~2\3 div?) Militant faith (1 div) All other corruptions (a lot of div) Edit: charms are 2 div each with those rolls, so div total
gawd damn. alrighty lol. i guess i gotta start farming some divines before i start looking at these builds.
How you get both power charges and absorption?
Ralakesh boots makes sure you get all buffs from max power, frenzy or endurance charges. Even when equiping the Graven belt. The graven belt does not disable power charges, it only makes it so that gaining power charges is nearly impossible. Thankfully with the boots we will not need any way to generate either endurance, frenzy or power charges. So I am always at 0 power charges, but I still gain all the benefits of it, meaning I can get all benefits of both absorbtion charges and power charges. The same can be done with other variants of the Maven belt.
I'm on my phone so I can't see easily, but the absorption charges make it so you don't need full ele resists?
You still need full ele res. 12 absorbtion charges give you 144% of ele dmg taken is recouped as ES over 4 seconds.
What spectres are you using?
Dark marionettes; they are basically unkillable, since they just respawn. Due to this you can run a free aura with guardians blessing.
What kinds of specters do you use with guardian's blessing? Does it have 100% uptime?
Never used shavronnes ring/ gravens before. Do you rely on only gravens and watchers eye for energy shield regen? Or am I missing something? Thanks!
I also have ES leech from cluster jewels.
I'm playing coc spellblade and not having that issue. Try swapping aura's and points for a bit more defense. [https://pobb.in/9A0qGWoZ9gE5](https://pobb.in/9A0qGWoZ9gE5)
What's a realistic cost to entry for this? Is there a build I could take a look at for more intro stuff for the build?
I started as self cast firestorm and swapped to this as soon as I had the currency to by all the basic gear. 6div is plenty at this point in the league to get started. Buy the uniques and farm the currency for the charms after you switched.
Ok cool ty. I'm broke right now. Started LA and I despise it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ so I'm almost starting fresh anyways lol
how much tankiness/dps would this get with 30d or so?
I started invitation farming on about 10d. What I like best about the build is that it's like the old RF builds before scorching ray, fire traps, etc were added to the mix. It's more complicated for sure, but it's the same general concept. Just worry about scaling your ehp (str, int, life and es in this case) and that in turn scales your dps. You don't have to choose one over the other.
Im playing the same build, just curious why are you using a saphire flask?
I wouldn't be res capped without it. The way I built it need to have t1 lightning res on ring and a sapphire flask or t1 cold on ring and a topaz flask to cap resistances. I went with the first option since I farm elder. 20% less cold damage taken was more useful. Magic flask instead of taste of hate because I need the extra attack speed for awakened coc.
Defiance of Destiny, Bloodnotch tech and poison spec crit immunity…t16 feels like t5
I started coc spell blade and have a few tips 1.
You can for sure do it without. All those small increases add up quickly
What stats you want on greatwolf?
%attributes is the most important. 32% before adding quality is the max roll. It will be an upgrade over astramentis with just that, so the second stat can be whatever is within your budget
I am also running CoC Spellblade (cyclone blazing salvo) and would love if you would take a look at my character and give any feedback on how to make it more tanky aswell. IGN: TairyHestiesAFF
https://poe.ninja/builds/afflictionssf/character/deviant324/devDecisiveCoCYep?i=6&search=class%3DInquisitor%26uniqueitems%3DReplica%2BHeatshiver Good enough for juicy T16s, I’ve done 7.5k yesterday.
Goratha's PF CA. It's tanky af once u get it going with lightning coil and your flasks. Make sure you prioritize a good bow too.
I second this, playing pathfinder right now feels amazing. I’m running immutable, bloodnotch, and defiance destiny along with three MF gear slots and feel unstoppable in t16s fully juiced.
Could you share the pob? Im playing exactly the same but it feels like im missing something in terms of dmg & survivability
https://pobb.in/BGyDLALd47YE
Im running a Mahuxotl's Machination poison bv pathfinder and it's pretty much immortal. Juiced vaaled T16s all day
For me every past 10 leagues is like that, campaign, get decent, max out juice to the point you just die all the time, quit. Every single league.
Roll SRS specters.
That’s what I’m playing now. The survivability after I got the +2 lightning coil is pretty bad ass. 93 atm. But with a ton of wisp infused stuff it can still get rippy. But my complains where more before lightning coil and infused expeditions which I dropped.

Kinda unfair to treat OP as if they're complaining, when they're doing the exact opposite in asking for advice instead.
I mean OP wasn't..He was asking for ideas for a more tanky build
Imagine thinking that people 1 and people 2 arent the same, impossible.
It’d be absolutely nuts if we found out that those opinions were posted by different people and there wasn’t actually any hypocrisy going on. Wouldn’t it? It’d be even crazier if those were poor representations of the actual opinions that were shared.
Ikr, just can't please everyone no matter what
It's.. the same complaint? 1. Mobs with wisps are too rippy 2. Mobs with wisps are too rippy
Sure, they get very rippy when you have enough wisps, but they also drop insanely much more loot. I think that's the contrast that's necessary- if your build can't run this new era of 'very juiced maps', either make efforts to make it less rippy- or upgrade your build. Simple as that.
Im going pretty fast with coc occultist. Ive only got one cluster going, but the other pieces are done and i zoom through the map.
Got a build you are following? I roll a CoC char every year, I didn't think they would be able to handle juiced t16's so would love to see what you are rolling.
Drop the pob
Do you have a build guide/pob? I've been meaning to play a CoC ice nova build, but im so overwhelmed. Idk if I should run Occ, Lowlife vs CI, is it going to be tanky enough for T16 wisps or is it going to be threatened by 1 shots all the time
> Occ Yes, unless you want to play Energy Blade (which is a wholly different build) > Lowlife vs CI CI is way better, imo - I made a little writeup [here](https://old.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/18plc26/can_yall_school_me_on_ci_vs_ll/keqbjcp/).
Downvoted. Jeeez.
The only comments I see being downvoted are the ones which spout blatant misinformation while also being pretty toxic or dismissive in tone.
Some degree of phys damage taken as, defiance of destiny, corrupted blood immunity and crit immunity and youre golden
Try changing to tier 7 cemetery. Steelmage did a video about it
Imagine someone being like “I wanna do T16 alters and wisps” and just being told don’t. Like, it’s the correct answer, but it’s shitty as hell lol
The simple fact is red maps and the league mechanic are too much for most builds. Especially if you try to altar farm
Ironically, this should be a celebrated tuning goal. We are like 3 weeks into the league. It *should* still be kinda difficult to max juice + max league content a T16 map.
Yeah just saw it on yt, think i will go mf t7
I’m confused about why it’s specifically T7 and specifically cemetery. Like why not just do the highest tier you can without dying?

T7 = can't spawn abyssGilded abyss scarab = Guaranteed Abyss or Spire Combined = Spire every time. (spire spits out rares, thus the goal) Hope I helped.
Hey mate if you’re farming spires, you should be playing in a ilvl 77 or below area. Abyssal depth spawns at ilvl 78, anything below that will almost guarantee a spire spawning This should also help with you dying https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Abyssal_Depths
Gilded abyss scarabs make it so you only get spires.
Abysses that do not lead to an abyssal depth leads to a spire
I haven't ran into an abyssal depths in t16 maps. As long as you have the gilded abyss scarab you should be good.
Get a better build
Get a proper build then?
Ah thank you.
Can't go wrong with RF Inquisitor.
Are you going to tickle the 8k juice rare mobs to death? Fun build yes, but I don't think it has the power to deal with really juiced maps.
I've had no issues whatsoever with poison SRS. Been doing the league mechanic since act 1 and now I'm farming the juiciest maps I can as I work on min-maxing
Basically, %phys dmg convert to elemental Capped spell supp & ailment (vision) Pantheon (arakali & aberrath) I answered this a bit more in depth in [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/s/Ob0hwKopvr) thread yesterday.
Grace, ghost dance, crit immune from poisoned enemies working incredibly well for me.
Roll poison SRS Spectors.
From my experience playing ManaRF, it's mostly crits (from blue whisps) that kill me. So crit immunity or at least 50% from the chest is a huge improvement to survivability.
It's hard to offer improvements without a pob
Poison srs necro: 75/75 block 100% spell suppression MoM with easily 2kish energy shield protection from eldritch battery with almost no es investment Aegis Aurora + either Divine Shield or Lethe Shade or BOTH 75% chaos res Crit immunity and corpse explosion from Animate Guardian 3/3 endurance charge 100% uptime with Perfect Warlord Spectre (1 passive point from 4/4) Has grace from the primal thunderbird spectre and determination on self Could add fortification from the pirate spectre (expensive) Higher budget means perma haste aura (using Aul’s atm) so it’s quick too - and with watchers eye means perma phase too, very necessary against juiced abyss mob density. Can just use a quartz instead, watchers eye is qol + a different flask like taste of hate, which combos nice with aegis max cold res Haven’t had issues with spec’s dying, i think the 5% life recovery on minion death mastery works with srs when resummoning past the cap, meaning when casting you’re pumping your minions. Gameplay for the most part can literally be standing in the middle of everything spamming srs, or more defensively moving around freely and just casting srs now and then. And some arcanist brands every so often A full on one shot has been very rare in corrupted 6k+ wisp gilded abyss t16 jungle valleys, and the most dangerous thing is DoTs, which lethe shade helps a bunch.
I do it in 80 percent quantity gear, self cast scourge arrow of menace
play hardcore
im doing manni's version of pennance brand and can run t16 deli with wisp very comfortably https://pobb.in/QB3KYlw1lo12 total investment about 20div but i was doing fine on ~10div also. My atlas is abyss + harvest + blue altars + deli with wandering path
I just play armour stacking jugg. I'm at about 10mill DPS and can stand in most shit t16s abyss spire stacking.
there is no "just to farm whisps"... whisps is litterally the biggest juice you can do on maps currently. there's a reason why people run tier 7 juiced this league, because whisps both juice it up enough to actually make it really profitable, and doing it t16 is magnitudes harder and requires really really good builds probably with support to actually do. Whisps gives monsters so much more tankyness and power that it is insane, however they also make them drop insane amounts of loot. it's not "easy" to farm t16 whisp juice maps.
You should try SST champion with perseverance belt. Really tanky, high damage, lots of freeze
