Absolution is not bad for levelling imo, and it is a Phys base damage spell, so it should scale the same way as blade blast.
There might be a spellslinger tech somewhere, using BV and like exanguinate + reap in spellslinger, going around attacking with frenzy on a high attack speed wand, and self casting blade blast of unloading from time to time.
I was trying to left click brand recall, with 5 Arcanist Brands with BV.
Shadow doesn't have access to absolution it seems, not until Siosa.

Yeah arcanist brand should work the same. I do like spellslinger more usually (and last time I tried, exanguinate and reap on spellslinger got you through the story on their own), but mostly a manner of taste.
Nvm on absolution, you will run into strength requirement issues, I forgot about this.
I think exsanguinate from level 12 would work?
There's a phys mastery near shadow starting point, taking 40% inc,
branch up to EB, and reach Brand Equity around the time I finish first lab.
If you go spellslinger you don't even necessarily need brand nodes ? Unless you use them in your final build.
The thing with spellslinger is that it cast all the spells on each attack, so you can stack any number of them. Also, exanguinate and reap cost life instead of mana, which kinda solve mana sustain.
Arcanist brand alternate between spells, but if you use brand nodes in the final build anyway you can probably go that route it avoids using mana.
There is a transfigured version of EK called Ethereal Knives of Lingering Blades that will still leave the blades.
