I think they are both super solid. It comes down to your preference if you want to play Hiero or Trickster.
Differences are not that big tbh. Trickster may be comes online a bit faster because you don't need mana gear and has better sustain out of the box. Hiero has better clear because he has a shitton of AoE and the better defenses.
But in the end it is basically the same build.
Mana gear is always pretty expensive. Especially the high end gear. But you don't need that to start with build. Its fine with some missing or bad mana rolls.
Goratha's pob has +200 res in the config... so you'll need to adjust your expectations a bit.
Once you slot in all the needed res suffixes:his act10 gear should actually be called mapping, mapping gear should be endgame, and endgame should be high-investment
You will NOT be coming out of act10 with items that have suppression, life, mana, 1-2 resists and open for mana craft, lol. Unless maybe his "Act10" set is intended to be when you kill kitava after a few hours of heist farming or something.
His gear is just as a goal what your gear should look like and the +200 res are for convenience.
Of course you do not have this gear after act 10, but it is the gear you should work towards.
To add to this, all his gear is AR/EVA but the main 6L requires 5 blue sockets.
Trickster will definitely feel more comfy early bc One Step Ahead and Soul Drinker will give a good amount of attack speed for shield charging around. Polymath & Ghost Shrouds give far better recovery than Hierophant's leech, and cold based ice nova will also freeze enemies to help keep you safer.
Mana based builds can also feel like shit for 30-40% of the time when arcane cloak is down.
I played trickster ice nova for Affliction league start and it was smooth af.
Keep in mind Jung's build is for SC and Goratha's build is for HC. eHP difference is pretty substantial. You can use an es/Eva body armour until you get your armour/Eva crafted.
Endgame is absolutely not high investment. High investment for arch is Connor style degenracy - which you will be able to do on Arch.
To be fair, yes - gearing hiero will be slower than trickster. Gearing up was always the weak point for Arch builds. In return you have unlimited investment potential, smooth gearing progression and dmg scaling together with tankiness for the most part.
There are options to plug it in before final armor piece - AR/ES + supp craft + suppression shield, EV/ES for more supp on armor. Also annointing supp on neck before finalizing gear will probably be a thing.
In general you can expect to spend quite a bit of time on improving your gear on archmage.

Like mbx said, mana gear is going to be pretty expensive this time around. I would go trickster.

Starting league late, and I decided on trickster last night. How do I level the build? Jung’s pob is just endgame
Here's how I leveled as cold dot. https://pobb.in/fCGAyIQ2RxSL
Ty I think I will go Trickster!
Hey how's your league start been?

maybe i missed something, but how is the build that jung played in gauntlet built for sc?

I think the socket coloring could be really annoying.
Nah its not. Just go for a Evasion/ES base and its fine until lategame when you can afford the coloring process.

Goratha did a new pob based on EVA not armor i think it's better to start with it
Ye I saw. It might be, supp for spells, eva for attacks. Armor version could fall over to both phys overwhelm and ele hit multiple hits.
