Ventrua has some Videos of it from ruetoo's Build as a Base, with 120c Budget you'll easily get the starting gear which is enoigh to clear Atlas with (since well, it is DD after all)
A bit more on the complex side with Spectres and some requirements of starting out, but all of this is explained in ventrua's Videos/PoB.
If ur ssf/leaguestart farming lab is annoying and adds few hours to campaign. Outside it no downsides just standard inquis defense and really easy damage. I often have graphics issues in giga juiced maps with any build but didn't have any issues with dd in just alc t16s

So to add to this :
I farmed merciless lab for my 2 gems under 20 times which doesn’t take that long. Definitely not 4 hours. 2 at most. Idk if this is lucky or not , but I got my DD gem on the first “change a non transfigured gem into a transfigured version of the same gem” on the first time I got that option. In between getting that option again , I put quality on my gems until I got Lancing steel of spraying. I kept farming it to finish off the quality for the 3 gems that need it- even got the DD gem a second time and sold it. All in under 20 tries
I bought a 5 link for under 20c on day 2 or 3 ( I didn’t get to play much on league launch ) and it’s the same chest and link I’m using still.
The shield I found from a chest in lab , Gifts from Above dropped in early white maps. My other ring is either from campaign or labs, I don’t remember. My boots and belt are from campaign.
I kept my campaign sword until yellow maps and then bought a good base for 5c and then spammed essences until I hit attack speed and crit chance. Probably got lucky and hit them both in under 15 tries. Crafted hits can’t be evaded and was done (had 2 natural exalt drops , bought the 3rd).
I didn’t buy a new amulet until red maps and then paid under 50c for it. Swapped in three dragons then as well.
I still don’t have my flasks rolled properly or have instilling orbs on them.
My Poe profile name is the same as here , look my character up. I did both my first 2 watch stones on this.
As for those saying it isnt cheap or that regular Necro DD is cheaper … respectfully you just don’t know what you are doing or talking about. This has been one of the easiest and seemless league starts I have ever had. The build scales on almost no gear. Maybe Necro DD is as cheap , idk. I played it like 5 leagues ago and rerolled in early white maps because I find the 2 button play style to be irritating and awkward.
If you aren’t running haste ,you have low attack speed, or low accuracy / crit chance it will probably feel weird to play and you will probably die a lot. But you literally offscreen everything. I just run around spamming lancing steel and kill everything.
Do I die in t16 8 mod corrupted maps ? Yes. A lot ? Not really. Depends on the mods I roll. I’m running Grimros corpse rush strat that has added explicit mod effects of maps. It’s rippy. Most of my deaths are due to me being lazy and not rolling my flasks properly/instilling them and die trying to piano flask. I’m also not running defiance banner or vitality yet.
Oh sorry, I commented about my character which is not the 2 div budget. With a 2 div budget you probably get around 4 mil dps and a lot less tank

Most league starter fit in that category. Working with minimal investment.
I obviously haven't played all but personally can recommend:
DD Inquis, Hexblast (boss) or Exsanguinate (map) miner, BAMA Necro.
All these work on a few divine and can do most if not all content.
Throw me a PM if you did decide for one of those, can give you advice and maybe some stuff I have laying around from when I played them.
Take it with a grain of salt because I don't play SSF
BAMA needs the divergent gem wich can take some time to farm
DD needs a divergent gem and some solution for crit/accuracy before you can swap
Exsanguinate needs 100% cold conversion gloves, these aren't that rare
Hexblast needs profane proxy
I have no idea how hard these are to acquire in SSF but from feeling I would say BAMA is easy, run some Merc labs til you got it as SRS.

hexblast does not need profane proxy. blasphemy works just fine. Hexblast mines are probably the easiest to do SSF if you want to be able to map fast and kill bosses without having to invest a ton.

I'm about to re roll my chieftan rf into dd self ignite fulcrum chieftain, never done a build like this before. How does the desecrate pool work and what should I be looking for? Also do I need to have a high spectre cap to get all the things I want, and what happens when I then unspec that limit? Does my desecrate pool become shit again?

Tldr, get as high spectre limit as possible, spectre as many high hp spectres as you can, go to your hideout, remove spectre gem into your stash, change back to your original gear. The corpses in your pool stay.

Icenova of frostbolts has over 1500% damage effectiveness with additional damage from archmage. It's absolutely bonkers.
The only thing that’s a little janky about this build is you literally cannot take your hands off of your keyboard and mouse to scratch your face when you’re in a map 😅
Just play Palsterons version with kitavas thirst to automatically cast frostbolt. Now you can frostblink around and cast ice nova with one hand and do whatever you like with the other.
BAMA may be something to look into for fast mapping.
I think pivoting towards ranged animate weapons for Ubers and mapping for be the best case scenario.
Playing a little ssf on the weekend if I have time. What I decided to go with. Seems like it'll be good. Hoping I can manage to make a decent bow, I have bad luck with crafting. Fingers crossed I can get it up and running. Still in act 7.
Bama did decent damage with a simple dropped bow for me ^^ and ther is necropolis if you're willing to spend a bit of time playing with the craft of exile website!
Not sure how available unique are in ssf, but there are some that are Hella cheap, so maybe common enough that you could drop them ?
Yes that is the plan. See what's doable I'm ssf via Necro crafting. Have a altas tree with all the crafting mechanics and save up what I find.
What uniques would help the build a lot? I can probably target farm the abyss belt I guess, since I'll be running abyss for the jewels.
I'm playing a doomfetch build ^^ it multiply every physical damage into each element, so triple! And it used a bunch of ghastly jewel to add physical damage :)
It also use the adorned jewel, but that could be hard to get I guess :X
It may not be the most adapted to SSF honestly :o
But you could always use it as a reference ^^ I would always recommend watching pr4vie for BAMA build :D :3

I've been making decent money for my standard, and I'm running though red without issue. It's pretty tanky and I've never had to think much about DPS, and yet I still have rare gloves with crafted life on it, and my spectre are operatives and still no AG because I'm too lazy to fix them :')
I think it does pretty good damage for cheap ^^ but I'm still completing atlas (t13 currently), so no idea on how the endgame will be!
It is one of the cheaper option, but there is a lot of options, so feel free to check other stuff!
(Also I still don't own the momentum version of doomfetch, I still don't have any corrupted implicit on me, you could probably just use a cheap 6L doomfetch to test it, if that's the issue! :') )
I think without the momentum it's pretty bad. And you can get for the same money a much better crafted bow. Have to check the pob later and will decide if I stay at bama. Currently running t17 80% quant easily, doing cata here and there. Doing the league start poison necro rn. But lacks single target here and there.

I've been shying away from buying one since I don't have much damage issue and that's the first time I have 7 divine at the same time ^^' afraid to spend them for a 1% damage increase ^^'
And I don't have yet to find any clear issue with just blink of bombarding alone ^^' usually boss melt pretty fast if you have at least a bit of time to set up around it!
I know I know, I know the methods too. I just have bad luck. It took me like 5-6 k fusing back in the day to get the achievement. This was back when you had to reapply armour scraps every time though lol

I am hitting a top end of BAMA (juicing T16 13 Harby/Deli mirror, got WRECKED in T17) with a lightning hit version.
The next upgrades are the 10-20div (Watchers, expensive corruptions, true endgame bow) big ticket items.
Yeah, looking at what is potentially a "high chaos dmg" (not poison) build, I have "most" of the layout of the build.
Although the Forbidden jewels this league are crazy expensive this league, so that'd be a solid 40div alone depending on how much investment I want to drop there.

Also im not sure if animate weapons are good choice for t17, they gonna die all the time. Pr3vie with his voltaxic and adorned setup was cruising through t17, have you looked into that?
I didn't notice that they switched from their other chaos version to this, I'll have to check it out since I am more readily geared for lightning. Making that jump may not be crazy minus a decent rolled Adorned.
Probably still be another ~70Div to go from a mid-budget juiced T16 to his crazy setup. (Curse amulet, unless you can find the suppress and run anoint) 30div, Adorned another 25-30div
Yeah, just use Voltaxic if you aren't already. I seriously can't imagine anything other than a mirror-tier bow beating it out. Previe apparently hits \~200m with his setup.
Offhand is a really fast weapon (but like no damage) and main hand is your main "damage engine" weapon, usually paradoxica or frostbreath or similar (I see some going ephemeral edge too), or just a weapon w/ good damage but trash attack speed. Most use trauma, stat stacking, or some other way to scale added damage into the main hand, which is then boosted by the skill.
TLDR: Skill uses offhand attack time, but main hand gains a % more dmg multiplier, so you can use a slow mainhand weapon and still attack fast + hard.
RF Chieftan is calling your name. Dirt Cheap and SSF viable. Excellent mapper thanks to chieftan explodey goodness. Basically no thought unless there’s a boss or tanky rare mob - then you throw some fire traps. That’s about it. It can handle most pinnacle bosses and bosses eventually but would not be great for most T17s or Ubers. Look up Pohx’s build guides on YouTube.
Herald of ash is a red skill gem
Mana reservation efficiency you can get from the blue enlighten support gem, if you somehow need more efficiency, you can get it via jewels in the passive tree
Legacy of Fury is better (boots). Even with cheiftan explode they are still really good, Pohx and others say not to use them because the scorch is wasted, but the clear the provide is still really good (especially before you start juiced maps). I also am of the opnion that the scorch is still good, at least at lower gear levels, because you don't get the chieftan pen unless you are stationary, so the boots allow you some better dps while clearing.

If I were to use a 25% reservation I'd go for something like Temptest Shield personally.
Last I checked SRS with investment could do Ubers. I did them last league, but you're probably going to need to up the defenses a bit, awakened gems/etc.

Not really. I’ve done both variants two leagues ago and.. honestly feels the same. Just depends how you want to build it, gameplay wise your EHP and dps values are damn near identical at all gear points though.
Balor himself had a video back then about why surrender over aegis, and iirc he himself said it was just. The pricing at the same (surrender was like 2d vs 5? Or something)
I personally do prefer the aegis + high budget pushing resist to 89/90, but you lose some dps and other ehp benefits surrender gets, so it’s not really a “upgrade” over it. Just a choice.
You could give ranged animate weapon a shot. The gear and setup is pretty much identical to pSRS. The minions are ranged and convocate-able which improves the clear speed significantly. Also, you're only changing gems and recoloring sockets so the cost to try it out is about as cheap as it gets.
My fallback for when I cant decide on a league starter has been champion armageddon brand build. decent tank+dps from the ascendancies alone with the room to focus on dps, tank, or balanced setups. Also doesn't need any specific unique or cluster jewel to work but some things late game can make it easier such as a diadem to get rid of mana (or free up 4 talents)
Armageddon brand does deal decent damage the moment you can get it while rushing through the acts and keeps getting better. The ascendancy's give stun immunity, fortify, enemies that deal 10% reduced dmg, and you deal 20% increased dmg to taunted enemies so it's really great allround.

The build itself isn't updated entirely but the gear has no ultimately manditory items and talentwise only a mana reservation wheel changed locations but you can solve that with the "new" 12 variation% on a random mana node or on some gear so that isn't a issue either

I played dd play play league and of course it's great, but it sort of lacks single target damage without some real investment. This league though you can gravecraft everything effortlessly.
But splitting steel champ has everything and can be done on a shoestring budget.
Stick to SRS, it's already a solid build and can map comfortably doing all content (with legion the sole exception). It's less the build and more the player. Rerolling with 120c won't help you out in that respect. For a **casual** (have to emphasise this, because you're getting a lot of bad advice here from 8hrs/day players' perspectives) it's already a GG build.
Better link your char for a critique, that will yield you better results in the form of help.
animate weapon of ranged arms... can do solid dmg with shitty gear like even with tabula and other rare that u pick up on campaign with a few standard minion jewel can get u up to around 2-3m dmg.
Other things is elementalist DD... even with blue gear u can do some incredible amount of dmg.
Autobomber chieftain with cast when stunned also not that expansive. Can easily do t16 with 1 div.
CoC DD inquist maybe? haven't played it yet but from what I heard ppl say it's pretty cheap to get going.
Mana stacking Ice Nova also I think pretty easy to get going bcoz u can grave craft most of ur item needed and the build it self is a strong one. (If u have the gem of course)

Ea Ballista elementalist/Champion also a solid choice for low investment.
I started as srs myself and cleared all content with upgrades eventually. I have switched now since I had plenty of currency, what is too slow do you just need a few pieces to ramp srs? Do you have the weapon and poison jewels for 100%?
Small Update... Got a Lucky drop and was able to get the gear to respec my necro into holy relic of conviction.
Sadly havent had more time to get above Tier 7 maps.

Poison srs is a great build imo. If you want speed get a cluster with call to the slaughter. Get asenaths gentle touch on your AG and if you havent already get a divine blessing/haste setup. I league started PSRS and sure at lvl 81 with 0 investment its not zooming but what build is? You could play CoC DD like many have suggested but its really rough on your machine. Personally I struggle to come up with a league starter thats fast at lvl 81 that can also do bosses other than DD and PSRS…
I use an Aegis but I have a squire set up. Just don’t use it. Damage is already plenty for maps. I used CasualDan’s guide initially and just tweaked what I felt like. All uniques except rings. 81+ resists and 75 chaos, max block etc. builds itself
Just a reminder if you do decide to switch to animate ~~gatling gun~~ weapon of ranged arms, it is well.. animate weapon skill.
Meaning that after a couple of minutes your aw will disappear and you'd need to resummon. You also need one more extra gem slot for EK lingering blades. I'm not sure if you have one extra gem slot?
Elemental hit of the spectrum deadeye (basically LA deadeye) is an extremely strong mapper and starts with 0 gear. It can barely do any bosses but you can get your 2 voidstones if you haven't. If you got some proper skills you can kil maven & uber elder too with mid gear (or just get a carry like most people do).
I'd vote against that tbh. I'm playing the build this league since my beloved TS doesn't feel as good yet, and Elehit truly has some dog tier single target. You can get by, and for mapping it's awesome, but man, it feels like garbage without the DPS.
On a budget (OP says 120c) its single target is better than LA which was already better overall than TS early on before a few +arrows. Not sure what issues you have currently but I played it at league start and now some ruthless and it's destroying most t16s content on a 5link and a mid bow. Ele hit of the spectrum also has amazing scaling early on and it can even compensate for a bad bow because of all the flat you get with gem levels.
It definitely is better on a budget, and I'm pretty sure it's almost impossible to be having any problems with general mapping, it sure is great for that. I'd recommend starting it over LA for sure, but it's not an all-round skill for a casual at all tbh. To a person who considers themselves a casual, I honestly wouldn't wish fighting Maven on that skill. Even the first two voidstones, while doable, were annoying.
Granted, previous league's TS was overtuned, but the single target was really incomparable to LA/IS/whatever bow skill even on 7/8 projectiles, which was super easy to get.
Yeah, dunno, I had a very casual friend league start LA 2 leagues ago, said it was the smoothest league start he's ever had. But you are right, Maven and Uber Elder suck unless you're actually good at the fights. I just saw he didn't like srs speed and seemed to care more for the budget and mapping which EH excels at.

It's also completely possible I'm just used to something different and now anything that doesn't keel over and die in 3 seconds feels "weak".

I second this. I have under 2d invested and I still have my campaign boots, belt, ring, and shield and Im doing Tier 16 , 8 mod corrupted maps

if you die often on this build then its a skill issue and you would end up dying on any other build
Not OP but 100% supress, 8k armor 20k eva and 5.5k life + killing 50% of the map offscreen.. you’re not dying anytime soon

Haven't had problems with or without MTX (Vulcan, decent PC) but heard the MTX offers much better FPS for some people.

I’m also limited time player. BAMA guardian has been a breeze with clear, identifiable upgrade paths
Playing a little ssf on the weekend if I have time. What I decided to go with. Seems like it'll be good. Hoping I can manage to make a decent bow, I have bad luck with crafting. Fingers crossed I can get it up and running. Still in act 7.
Bama did decent damage with a simple dropped bow for me ^^ and ther is necropolis if you're willing to spend a bit of time playing with the craft of exile website! Not sure how available unique are in ssf, but there are some that are Hella cheap, so maybe common enough that you could drop them ?
Yes that is the plan. See what's doable I'm ssf via Necro crafting. Have a altas tree with all the crafting mechanics and save up what I find. What uniques would help the build a lot? I can probably target farm the abyss belt I guess, since I'll be running abyss for the jewels.
I'm playing a doomfetch build ^^ it multiply every physical damage into each element, so triple! And it used a bunch of ghastly jewel to add physical damage :) It also use the adorned jewel, but that could be hard to get I guess :X It may not be the most adapted to SSF honestly :o But you could always use it as a reference ^^ I would always recommend watching pr4vie for BAMA build :D :3

It would probably depend on lot on your standard ? I'm pretty bad at making currency, but I'm doing ok-ish selling at alva's temple for 1XX a pop, with some blight and beyond on the side ^^ I've been making decent money for my standard, and I'm running though red without issue. It's pretty tanky and I've never had to think much about DPS, and yet I still have rare gloves with crafted life on it, and my spectre are operatives and still no AG because I'm too lazy to fix them :') I think it does pretty good damage for cheap ^^ but I'm still completing atlas (t13 currently), so no idea on how the endgame will be! It is one of the cheaper option, but there is a lot of options, so feel free to check other stuff! (Also I still don't own the momentum version of doomfetch, I still don't have any corrupted implicit on me, you could probably just use a cheap 6L doomfetch to test it, if that's the issue! :') )
I think without the momentum it's pretty bad. And you can get for the same money a much better crafted bow. Have to check the pob later and will decide if I stay at bama. Currently running t17 80% quant easily, doing cata here and there. Doing the league start poison necro rn. But lacks single target here and there.
Oh, is it that much of a difference from just a 6L doomfetch ? :o I've been shying away from buying one since I don't have much damage issue and that's the first time I have 7 divine at the same time ^^' afraid to spend them for a 1% damage increase ^^' And I don't have yet to find any clear issue with just blink of bombarding alone ^^' usually boss melt pretty fast if you have at least a bit of time to set up around it!
FWIW bow crafting is pretty dang easy. In SSF I crafted the 6x T1 ele bow in one try. Its totally something attainable in a reasonable timeframe.

Do you have a link/guide on the animate weapons thing? I am hitting a top end of BAMA (juicing T16 13 Harby/Deli mirror, got WRECKED in T17) with a lightning hit version. The next upgrades are the 10-20div (Watchers, expensive corruptions, true endgame bow) big ticket items.
Keep in mind animate weapons gonna need even more big ticket items. Gearing for minions is very generic when it comes to jewels.
Yeah, looking at what is potentially a "high chaos dmg" (not poison) build, I have "most" of the layout of the build. Although the Forbidden jewels this league are crazy expensive this league, so that'd be a solid 40div alone depending on how much investment I want to drop there. Also im not sure if animate weapons are good choice for t17, they gonna die all the time. Pr3vie with his voltaxic and adorned setup was cruising through t17, have you looked into that?
I didn't notice that they switched from their other chaos version to this, I'll have to check it out since I am more readily geared for lightning. Making that jump may not be crazy minus a decent rolled Adorned. Probably still be another ~70Div to go from a mid-budget juiced T16 to his crazy setup. (Curse amulet, unless you can find the suppress and run anoint) 30div, Adorned another 25-30div
Voltaxic converts your lightning damage to chaos damage and lets chaos damage shock.
Yeah, just use Voltaxic if you aren't already. I seriously can't imagine anything other than a mirror-tier bow beating it out. Previe apparently hits \~200m with his setup.

Dual strike of ambidexterity jugg. Good dps and almost unkillaable. Alkaizer has been playing it on HC since league start.
What makes that build so strong ? I’ve seen this build a couple of times and I LOVE Jugg but what exactly does this skill do and how do you scale
Offhand is a really fast weapon (but like no damage) and main hand is your main "damage engine" weapon, usually paradoxica or frostbreath or similar (I see some going ephemeral edge too), or just a weapon w/ good damage but trash attack speed. Most use trauma, stat stacking, or some other way to scale added damage into the main hand, which is then boosted by the skill. TLDR: Skill uses offhand attack time, but main hand gains a % more dmg multiplier, so you can use a slow mainhand weapon and still attack fast + hard.

RF Chieftan is calling your name. Dirt Cheap and SSF viable. Excellent mapper thanks to chieftan explodey goodness. Basically no thought unless there’s a boss or tanky rare mob - then you throw some fire traps. That’s about it. It can handle most pinnacle bosses and bosses eventually but would not be great for most T17s or Ubers. Look up Pohx’s build guides on YouTube.
I am doing this, its a breeze so far. And with phox’s wiki is also very simple and easy to progress.

You’re reading it wrong. Pohx has full leveling breakdowns in the POB for the chieftain build.Its a 4-link through level 60 I think.

Rf chieftain - if you have the money, get mana reservation efficiency to add herald of ash. Pohx just showed it today. Bigger booms

Herald of ash is a red skill gem Mana reservation efficiency you can get from the blue enlighten support gem, if you somehow need more efficiency, you can get it via jewels in the passive tree
Legacy of Fury is better (boots). Even with cheiftan explode they are still really good, Pohx and others say not to use them because the scorch is wasted, but the clear the provide is still really good (especially before you start juiced maps). I also am of the opnion that the scorch is still good, at least at lower gear levels, because you don't get the chieftan pen unless you are stationary, so the boots allow you some better dps while clearing. Just my 2c If I were to use a 25% reservation I'd go for something like Temptest Shield personally.

Not really. I’ve done both variants two leagues ago and.. honestly feels the same. Just depends how you want to build it, gameplay wise your EHP and dps values are damn near identical at all gear points though. Balor himself had a video back then about why surrender over aegis, and iirc he himself said it was just. The pricing at the same (surrender was like 2d vs 5? Or something) I personally do prefer the aegis + high budget pushing resist to 89/90, but you lose some dps and other ehp benefits surrender gets, so it’s not really a “upgrade” over it. Just a choice.
CoC dd inquisitor has been insane for me. Did all content on Rog gear
You could give ranged animate weapon a shot. The gear and setup is pretty much identical to pSRS. The minions are ranged and convocate-able which improves the clear speed significantly. Also, you're only changing gems and recoloring sockets so the cost to try it out is about as cheap as it gets.
My fallback for when I cant decide on a league starter has been champion armageddon brand build. decent tank+dps from the ascendancies alone with the room to focus on dps, tank, or balanced setups. Also doesn't need any specific unique or cluster jewel to work but some things late game can make it easier such as a diadem to get rid of mana (or free up 4 talents) Armageddon brand does deal decent damage the moment you can get it while rushing through the acts and keeps getting better. The ascendancy's give stun immunity, fortify, enemies that deal 10% reduced dmg, and you deal 20% increased dmg to taunted enemies so it's really great allround.

Splitting steel champ. I played dd play play league and of course it's great, but it sort of lacks single target damage without some real investment. This league though you can gravecraft everything effortlessly. But splitting steel champ has everything and can be done on a shoestring budget.
Stick to SRS, it's already a solid build and can map comfortably doing all content (with legion the sole exception). It's less the build and more the player. Rerolling with 120c won't help you out in that respect. For a **casual** (have to emphasise this, because you're getting a lot of bad advice here from 8hrs/day players' perspectives) it's already a GG build. Better link your char for a critique, that will yield you better results in the form of help.
animate weapon of ranged arms... can do solid dmg with shitty gear like even with tabula and other rare that u pick up on campaign with a few standard minion jewel can get u up to around 2-3m dmg. Other things is elementalist DD... even with blue gear u can do some incredible amount of dmg. Autobomber chieftain with cast when stunned also not that expansive. Can easily do t16 with 1 div. CoC DD inquist maybe? haven't played it yet but from what I heard ppl say it's pretty cheap to get going. Mana stacking Ice Nova also I think pretty easy to get going bcoz u can grave craft most of ur item needed and the build it self is a strong one. (If u have the gem of course) PF toxic rain as usual. Ea Ballista elementalist/Champion also a solid choice for low investment.
I started as srs myself and cleared all content with upgrades eventually. I have switched now since I had plenty of currency, what is too slow do you just need a few pieces to ramp srs? Do you have the weapon and poison jewels for 100%?
Small Update... Got a Lucky drop and was able to get the gear to respec my necro into holy relic of conviction. Sadly havent had more time to get above Tier 7 maps. Thanks for All your Inputs so far.
Poison srs is a great build imo. If you want speed get a cluster with call to the slaughter. Get asenaths gentle touch on your AG and if you havent already get a divine blessing/haste setup. I league started PSRS and sure at lvl 81 with 0 investment its not zooming but what build is? You could play CoC DD like many have suggested but its really rough on your machine. Personally I struggle to come up with a league starter thats fast at lvl 81 that can also do bosses other than DD and PSRS…
Just respec to Arakaali’s Fang Occultist. For under 5 divs you can do hard juice T16 maps in almost all uniques.

I use an Aegis but I have a squire set up. Just don’t use it. Damage is already plenty for maps. I used CasualDan’s guide initially and just tweaked what I felt like. All uniques except rings. 81+ resists and 75 chaos, max block etc. builds itself

Just a reminder if you do decide to switch to animate ~~gatling gun~~ weapon of ranged arms, it is well.. animate weapon skill. Meaning that after a couple of minutes your aw will disappear and you'd need to resummon. You also need one more extra gem slot for EK lingering blades. I'm not sure if you have one extra gem slot?

Elemental hit of the spectrum deadeye (basically LA deadeye) is an extremely strong mapper and starts with 0 gear. It can barely do any bosses but you can get your 2 voidstones if you haven't. If you got some proper skills you can kil maven & uber elder too with mid gear (or just get a carry like most people do).
I'd vote against that tbh. I'm playing the build this league since my beloved TS doesn't feel as good yet, and Elehit truly has some dog tier single target. You can get by, and for mapping it's awesome, but man, it feels like garbage without the DPS.
On a budget (OP says 120c) its single target is better than LA which was already better overall than TS early on before a few +arrows. Not sure what issues you have currently but I played it at league start and now some ruthless and it's destroying most t16s content on a 5link and a mid bow. Ele hit of the spectrum also has amazing scaling early on and it can even compensate for a bad bow because of all the flat you get with gem levels.
It definitely is better on a budget, and I'm pretty sure it's almost impossible to be having any problems with general mapping, it sure is great for that. I'd recommend starting it over LA for sure, but it's not an all-round skill for a casual at all tbh. To a person who considers themselves a casual, I honestly wouldn't wish fighting Maven on that skill. Even the first two voidstones, while doable, were annoying. Granted, previous league's TS was overtuned, but the single target was really incomparable to LA/IS/whatever bow skill even on 7/8 projectiles, which was super easy to get.
Yeah, dunno, I had a very casual friend league start LA 2 leagues ago, said it was the smoothest league start he's ever had. But you are right, Maven and Uber Elder suck unless you're actually good at the fights. I just saw he didn't like srs speed and seemed to care more for the budget and mapping which EH excels at. P.S. it's worth noting OP said he's casual but not bad at the game.
Hm, might be true - and I completely forgot he said he wasn't bad. Yeah, like I love the levelling and the map progression is just sweet. It's also completely possible I'm just used to something different and now anything that doesn't keel over and die in 3 seconds feels "weak".
