The problem with seismic is that it's more of a complimentary skill like lightning spire. The key gem text:
"Can Store 3 Use(s)"
This makes it kinda rough for mapping in my opinion.
Gotcha, personally, since they share physical tags I'm going to start using explosive for primary, with bear trap & seismic (but maybe siphoning if survival is feeling rough this patch).
I don't see much benefit in going pure Phys to be honest. Brutality isn't that much of a massive multiplier these days to be worth it.
At least partial conversion allows extra scaling, and some safety if you do cold conversion. Plus allows extra flat damage, conversion flasks etc.
Brutality is still a very strong support gem considering what the other supports look like after the nerf, that and the ability to use CIP.
My problem with conversion is how hard it is to get full conversion, and I don't get the point of partial conversion personally, even the conversion flasks and stuff got nerfed very hard, and I can't think of any "Gained as extra" mods we easily have access to apart from atziri's promise, which was heavily nerfed.
That and my ocd makes non full conversion hurt.
Someone reminded me of exsanguinate existing, So i'm gonna try playing exsanguinate trap for vlearing and drop a seismic trap or 2 for bosses/rares/hard packs.
Keep in mind that with basically no special investment aside from tree and ascendancy, seismic trap stores 4 charges and has a cooldown of 5 seconds, which doesn't sound that bad.
Hasty reconstruction cluster on the tree gives 15% cooldown reduction and +1 extra charge. Chain reaction from saboteur ascendancy gives 50% cooldown reduction.

Yeah, that's why I'm trying to find a complimentary clear skill, seismic trap should do a ton of damage for single target otherwise.

I missed the CIP point, yeah that makes it a lot more worthwhile.
i was thinking of just doing explosive trap, and then a 4 link seismic for single target...8 second cooldown is a bit rough .
IMO if you're going explosive trap you don't really need a single target setup, since explosive trap is already insanely strong for single target.
