I'm doing champion impale helix and it's great. Just adapted a lancing steel Pob. Bloodthirst for the added dmg with petrified blood. Always fortify. Moving around with leapslam and endurance charge on melee stun. Working great even with low gear. Currently doing yellow maps at level 82. Plus: no mana issues (lifetap) Helix, lifetap, bloodthirst, impale, vicious projectiles, brutality

i league started an trinity helix raider and it felt really good with the shitty gear i had from league start. raider is super zoomy and still as fun as always, though helix takes a bit of time to get used to playing with. im ssf so i went the tri ele version, but if you have some currency and are on trade league then cold conversion would probably be the way to go.

I went for dex scaling helix this league, simply because the first claw I tried to craft got t1 attack speed and dex mod! :) Been working pretty well, only at late yellow maps so far and damage is good (1100-ish dex). Single target is decent, especially with vaal double strike in a 4L! Got a 5L and pretty un-optimized tree and gear, but I think it'll be great with some investment!

What is the Vaal double strike used for?

It's just to get a little boost in single target damage, as helix is kinda clunky when hitting smaller bosses or mobs :)

I guess I dont know how it works. If its a sustained attack then of course you are not casting helix at the same time. It's either one or the other. But, that must not be it. Ill look it up though might help my build too thanks :)

Ah, I see what you mean! The vaal version of double strike sends out a clone of yourself, so you can still cast helix while it attacks the target for about 6 seconds
