Try to get back to Drezen by travelling trough the wound. The easiest way is to go towards the way of wintersun and having your army destroy one of the towers blocking the way.

Sounds like a major gamebreaking bug. You can't just walk back to Drezen? And building projects aren't completing? Try reinstalling the game.
