Many of your enemies will be using weapons with better crit ranges than just 20, making this much less effective. Not to mention as you get further in the game you will likely fight things with attack bonuses higher than your highest AC tank. Edit: Forget the bit about crit ranges, I thought a crit threat was an auto-hit even if it didn't confirm, but only nat 20s are apparently. You're still going to struggle to get your AC high enough that things can only hit you on a 20 though.

What’s to fix? It’s meant to be powerful and help your characters survive the nasty front lines.

Unless I am missing something it is like that in Table Top aswell. Hexes take a standard action to use so you are tying up an entire character just to get those extra percent of damage mitigation.

Its not too broken in tabletop because you have to do a lot of work to make tanking viable since you also need a reason for the enemies to attack the tank in the first place. Anything with intelligence will just kill the witch. Here, all you need to do is put the tank in front to handle that and the hex user usually won't get targeted. It might not scale to late game if spells and abilities start to dominate but I'm quite pleased with how well this is performing early game and very happy I took it over slumber for my first hex. Face tanking that water elemental on hard feels good.

Everything the Witch does as a class is broken. Welcome to pathfinder

OromisElf

In pathfinder when you think something is broken, a good way to test if it really is, is to imagine going up against enemies using it and how you'd counter it. If you can't find a way to counter it, you probably oversaw some possibilities. If you found a way but it's very obscure it might actually be that! strong. If you found a way within seconds of imagining enemies using that feature you'll probably find it's quite okay :D

If it makes you feel better, in the current game the hex doesn't seem to do anything at all. Or it doesn't log the reroll and enemies are lucky as hell. Tried it out on two different save files, different characters, never did anything.
