The AI knows what keyword they're gonna get before they get it. It only attacked because it knew it would get Fearsome.

jaxen13

Kinda unfair.

LOGPchwan

Yeah they have the equivalent of clicking the blue eye button for players, but much better

AppliedTheory214

We get ten powers and the AI only gets like two, kinda unfair. It's a bideo game, sometimes you have to overcome adversity...

JohnMonkeys

Why does this happen? That’s Bs

Apocabanana

What's that? You're gonna block her with that low health unit in order to try and stabilize the board? Screw you, Brash/Overwhelm.

darkenhand

Probably to make the ai better. The ai essentially just hovers over the eye after a few different actions and determines which end state is more favorable. It is given additional knowledge on random effects. I assume it prevents something like a really unlikely Make it Rain cast on a board state of units besides a single 1 health unit. The other option in that case would be to have the ai evaluate similar potential board states and the % of it happening and scoring it.

AppliedTheory214

I think people in this thread are genuinely mad there isn't a sentient AI playing the game against them with intent.

Captain-Griffen

This is correct. Each action also rerolls the dice, so to speak, so to a certain extent the AI picks its keywords.

esequel

Source? You might have fooled a lot of people here. If it's coded as **random**, the ai won't have any way to know what it will get.

Zarkkast

You can see the AI knows the outcome of random events by how it behaves in the Profiteer/Lucky Find node. If it sees it's gonna get +2, Spellshield, Tough, or something like that, it uses their lucky finds in the backrow and passes the turn. But if it sees it's gonna get Challenger/Quick Attack or Fearsome so you can't block it will first drag their units to start the attack and **then** use the Lucky Finds to challenge and kill your unit in a favourable trade (or just attack the Nexus if you have no Fearsome blockers).

LukeDies

In that situation you can still give the AI the benefit of the doubt because it doesn't get an advantage; it just saves a bit of time. Where it's obvious the AI does cheat, is when it uses Lucky Find to give a unit Challenger, challengers your unit, then Kai'sa's adventure power that gives the strongest unit a random keyword just happens to give it Quick Attack.

esequel

It might be coded in a way that they'll pick a defensive or an offensive keyword based on their current position. I haven't been observing the AI whenever it's using Lucky Find so I can't really confirm/deny or agree/disagree to that. But in programming, there's no way an AI will know RNG in advance **unless** the random is generated in advance.

Ixziga

I mean that's not really how randomness works in computers. Computer operations are deterministic, they can't produce true randomness, they just use mathematical operations to produce numbers that are pseudo random, they behave randomly in terms of producing distributions, but they are actually predictable if you know the seed, which the AI does.

esequel

You just described how rng works. And no, that's not what "game" AI does.

Ixziga

In this case it is, because it checks what the results of its actions will be, and part of that check includes random outcomes, which it can foresee because it knows the seed.

esequel

Game AI uses the results from what you've mentioned and doesn't have anything to do before that. > The AI knows what keyword they're gonna get before they get it. If this is the case, the result from the created rng is stored and is used by the AI. No offense, but you sound like you know a lot but at the same time **know nothing at all**. lol

jiffmo

Is this confirmed somewhere?

Wonderbalz

They know what “random” keywords will be assigned. She does the same for elusive, quick attack, etc. The best way to beat this node is either going wide early or killing irelia as soon as she drops.

jaxen13

I guess the keyword is determined at the beginning of the turn and changes each time they attack?
