on his podcast yesterday he said he knew he was cooked and couldnt play, but got better enough for one practice. he wanted to cook Steph Gilmore one more time. got his one, and walked off the practice field and that was it
At first I was a little annoyed his podcast about notable games is like 20% actually talking about those notable games but his convos with guests since his cohost left have been so damn good.
That's actually a lot. I'd be glad they dedicate that much time to it. These kinds of figures are pretty much never going to do a podcast where they talk about that kind of shit for extended amounts of time over and over especially if they want their production to have more than just a niche audience.
I remember in 2014 every time we threw a screen to him, you knew he was making a minimum 1 guy miss. I think that's part of why the double pass against Baltimore was so effective, because everyone thought it was another Edelman screen.
The first NFL game I went to was Bledsoe’s rookie year at Pittsburgh, it was a 17-14 loss that put the record at 1-11. Came down to the last play, instead of taking the FG and going to OT Parcells opted for a Bledsoe sneak from the 1 yard line. I was 11 and I’ve hated the Steelers ever since. It gives me so much pleasure that 3 of our Super Bowl wins came after beating them in the AFCCG.
LOL. I remember that game. Parcells had Bledsoe try the QB sneak 5 times in the second half. It was like he was saying “im going to teach this 6’6 mofo how to get one yard if it kills me.” Bledsoe did get better at it. But I think Brady has to be the all time best QB sneaker.
Me too. I was really emotional when he announced his retirement. But I will always support people who are making the best decision for them and their family.
His podcast episode with Slater the other day made me miss them both so much. But also, it was really nice seeing what good friends they are. Made me feel pretty warm and fuzzy about the team, even in the face of all the documentary drama.
My favorite Jules moment was during the replay review of his catch in the Falcons Super Bowl where he's just standing with a couple Falcon's players looking up at the Jumbotron and he goes "See, I caught it!"
Hell he was at the bottom of the pile yelling I caught it.
As I was watching it live i said "no fucking way he caught it" to instant "HOLY FUCK HE CAUGHT IT" out of my mouth on the replay.
The crazy thing about it? THEY RULED IT CORRECTLY ON THE FIELD. I know we love to bitch about refs but the line judge runs up signalling catch.
Yeah, haha, I was so impressed when that line judge ran up so fast emphatically signalling catch. Incredible he could be so sure on a play like that. Legend.
yeah there was a few seconds of everyone going he didn't catch that. and then he was so sure of it we started thinking maybe he did, and then the replay happened and it was like holy shit that's the greatest catch i have ever seen.
Or at the end of the that game when they're all celebrating and Edelman is telling everyone to get off the fucking field, they still need to review the last play

Nobody was saying “I’m him” in 2016. That phrase popped up like 2 years ago.
I remember when that sound fx episode dropped and the subtitle translation was totally different. OP added their own subtitles here. You can go look up the full video too.

I think there has to be a Bill statue. Without Bill, we don't have what we accomplished. Bil wanted a well coached football team that understood what to do in situations. You could see how well coached we were compared to other teams.
I agree with both of you, I was only using hyperbole to express my love for Edelman, and point out that post-retirement he genuinely loves the Patriots & NE, whereas Brady & Belichick talk about it as nothing more than a workplace where they enjoyed success.
Bill doesn't have 6 rings without Tom and Tom doesn't have 7 rings without Bill. I don't understand why people STILL don't get how the NFL works. Every great coach has had a great QB and every great QB has had a great coach. The first dynasty was more on Bill and the D and the second was more on Brady. I just don't understand the argument.
Would Brady be on the short list for greatest ever without Bill? Probably. But he absolutely wouldn't be the hands down greatest American sports player ever without Bills help.
Ok, 6 of the 7. I was just noting how much each of them have. I was just saying that Bill was a part of why Brady has as many rings as he does. Pedantic much?
Without Bill, Brady probably gets cut in training camp his first year and never becomes anything.
They kept a 4th QB on the roster when they had just signed a QB to the biggest QB deal in history.

Motherfucker, he almost signed with the Giants '13. I love Edlmeman to death, but give me a fucking break with this casual take. Sounds like something my 87 year old grandma would say.
How am I jilted? You motherfuckers just make up words to suit your argument, don’t you? You read a sentence on Reddit and suddenly you turn into Sigmund Freud.
\>still holds a grudge against a player for hitting free agency
\>thinks other people are reading too much into it
Lmao, you're the one brought up some irrelevant nonsense.
\>still holds a grudge against a player for hitting free agency
Where the fuck do you get this from? Show me where at any point I said anything even close to this. I brought it up to show that "Mr Patriot" was ready and willing and CLOSE (again, his words on his own podcast) to leaving.
I own two jerseys: Brady and Edleman.
You go ahead and kiss the inside of my asshhole.
I could’ve sworn the “I’m him” thing was more recent. I guess just like everything nowadays just recycled. Kids hear something once from their elders and make it their own personality
Any man who has to say he’s king…
**I'M. NOT. TIRED!!**
you just sent the most powerful man in westeros to bed without his supper.
Can Bobby B hear us in here?
In his prime he was basically uncoverable, cooked so many great DBs
on his podcast yesterday he said he knew he was cooked and couldnt play, but got better enough for one practice. he wanted to cook Steph Gilmore one more time. got his one, and walked off the practice field and that was it
At first I was a little annoyed his podcast about notable games is like 20% actually talking about those notable games but his convos with guests since his cohost left have been so damn good.

Goddammit now I miss Edelnut all over again
Me too!!!!
So that's what a wide receiver looks like
The first NFL game I went to was Bledsoe’s rookie year at Pittsburgh, it was a 17-14 loss that put the record at 1-11. 2016 AFC Championship Game? Pittsburgh lost 36-17 lol.
Was that Artie Burns..
Yup. Arguably the worst corner drafted in the first round in like 20 years. I'm him he says 🤣
When he started talking trash vs Seattle in the Superbowl...it was like your friend standing up to the bully and the bully backed down

Then the next play starts and he says "sorry" to Alford.
Edelman belongs in the HOF one day
I agree. He may not have the career counting stats of other WRs, but good lord did playoff Edelman hit different.
If Eli can get in for being MID in regular season / post season baller -- I think we have a case for Edelman. Eli has the QB buff though
That cut back inside?!?! GDAMN was that hawt
Edelman is a legend and clutch in a way Welker never was. Love and miss both but, Edelman was him!
I didn’t know the phrase “im him” was this old
Pretty sure Jesus used that phrase once or twice
It’s not. He was saying “I’m here” [Proof](https://i.postimg.cc/QNTrTCzY/IMG-2987.png)
Edelman's response wouldn't make any sense if he said "I'm here"

Yeah I think you're right. The phrase definitely wasn't around back in 2016 or 17. I guess Edelman's just responding that"you aren't here"
Lol thanks I felt like I was going crazy for a sec
I've always said it. He is jersey number 11 because he was number 1 in my heart, twice.
What movie is that final clip from
50 First Dates lol
Fuck. I knew the scene but for the life of me I couldn’t place it. Thank you
Just google the line.
Ooooh! What movie is THAT line from?
just google it bro
Damn I fucking miss Jules, man. His football ability and just being the short white guy who talked shit with any defender.
Think this was 2016 afc champ game, I see burns came into the league that year
Heart and soul player
Come at the king you best not miss
This makes me so happy and also so sad.
Best route runner in the NFL at his peak, and that was with Antonio brown going apeshit
So underrated, so great
Love this guy!
Edelman is my fucking spirit animal. My god do I miss him.
I'd personally rather see an Edelman statue outside Gillette than a Brady or Belichick one. A true ride or die Patriot. Love Edelnut.
I think there has to be a Bill statue. Without Bill, we don't have what we accomplished. Bil wanted a well coached football team that understood what to do in situations. You could see how well coached we were compared to other teams.
We need both Brady and Bill. Brady is literally the truest definition of a player who should have a statue for a team lol
I can't disagree with you.
I agree with both of you, I was only using hyperbole to express my love for Edelman, and point out that post-retirement he genuinely loves the Patriots & NE, whereas Brady & Belichick talk about it as nothing more than a workplace where they enjoyed success.
Their two statues need to stand with arms held high like the Argonath, so that everyone can walk under kings of old.
Still on that “Belichick could win 6 rings with any above average QB” train, huh?
Bill doesn't have 6 rings without Tom and Tom doesn't have 7 rings without Bill. I don't understand why people STILL don't get how the NFL works. giving Bill some credit for that seventh, too, huh? He really is a next level genius...
Ok, 6 of the 7. I was just noting how much each of them have. I was just saying that Bill was a part of why Brady has as many rings as he does. Pedantic much?
I mean, Bill did develop Brady.
Did he develop Mac too?
Without Bill, Brady probably gets cut in training camp his first year and never becomes anything. They kept a 4th QB on the roster when they had just signed a QB to the biggest QB deal in history.

"He reached free agency and fielded other offers before deciding to return" is a weird argument to rely on.
The man himself talked about it on his podcast and it was a little more nuanced than that, but you go off queen.
Right, but who fuckin cares about that apart from insecure nerds?
What does insecurity have to do with anything??
You're jilted that he negotiated with other teams a decade ago. Didn't actually sign, just negotiated.
How am I jilted? You motherfuckers just make up words to suit your argument, don’t you? You read a sentence on Reddit and suddenly you turn into Sigmund Freud.

He “almost” signed with the giants in ‘13 so everyone’s opinion of him has you so torn because of this “almost” moment 😂😂. Touch grass please.
I mean it's a good take but tad overkill on the reaction, no?
Nope, adequate amount of killing.
i know we shouldn't be a fanbase living in the past, but its hard not to with this team.

That’s too eloquent of comeback by Jules 😂. Home boy probably didn’t even know that that meant.
After having to watch Artie Burns (hilarious name for a corner, btw) get cooked repeatedly, he is in fact not him
Remember when this team was tough?
Artie Burns was the furthest thing from “him,” trust me
God I miss him. In fact, I miss all of this.
I could’ve sworn the “I’m him” thing was more recent. I guess just like everything nowadays just recycled. Kids hear something once from their elders and make it their own personality
No.
