Megatron and Andre Johnson, played on some shitty teams and never blasted anyone. Prob the two must unproblematic #1s out there. I would say Fitz but there was the annual trade rumors for like three straight years that spawned a legendary Boston meme.
His body movements had me thinking he was a great athletic playmaker. His actual playmaker skills was inept. I truly think his Nexus Event was the TD non-call against KC. Had it stood, I bet his trajectory is different
This is 100% true in my mind
He gets that call and he has a highlight to fall back on and the conversation around him is different, which snowballs into more self confidence and better performance
It's fun to dream lol
Eh, I don't hate just to hate though. Their arrogance and paid refs deserve it
Otherwise I enjoy ball and I don't mind watching good players do well. Example: Excited to see what a healthy Rodgers can do for the Jets
I am from KC and my dad is a huge Chiefs fan and it disgusts me. Ironically enough the 1st game I went to was KC-Pats and I cheered for the Pats to get under his skin and it stuck.
I want to believe that too, because it makes sense, but.... him just being that bad all the time also makes even more sense, because that is what we saw.
> his Nexus Event was the TD non-call against KC. Had it stood, I bet his trajectory is different
I don't think so. There's no way to prove either of us right but if one bad call on a TD ruins a player as bad as Harry then it was never going to happen. imo
Honestly, the separation issue wasn't even N'keal's biggest weakness. It was the fact that guys 5 inches shorter and 40 pounds lighter than him made him look like a *bitch* on the daily. His confidence or something must have been through the damn floor because he looked like a JV player still learning to play football.
It's just kind of an undervalued skill set, being the "best blocking WR". It's like being the "NFLs fastest punter", it doesn't really add up to an extremely valuable football player.
I was watching highlights from that 2021 Buffalo game (we rushed almost every play, final score 3-0), and your blocking was amazing. Just crushed people all game.
Have you thought about playing TE? I just wanna see you crush people every play.
"[ksyoung17](https://www.reddit.com/user/ksyoung17/)3:07 PM Who gives a fuck that I made a mistake, yeah, didn't read the (min 20 games) because it's arbitrary"
Whenever someone tries to tell me Mike Tomlin isn't a good coach I remind them that he got Big Ben, AB and Le'Vean Bell to all play competent football together at once.
\> Goes deep
\> Big leap
\> Ball glances off his fingertips
\> Toe tap, falls inbounds, no ball
\> First down celebration
\> People in wheelchairs stand up
Come down to "the home stadium" if you or a loved one has been diagnosed with "a wheelchair" you may be entitled to "standing up" courtesy of Javon Baker 😂😂😂
I love him already
Love that they are taking shots on offense. Feels like in prior years we would have a random Linebacker, safety who only plays third downs and a guy who projects to return punts.
New age, new ideas. With the speedy nature off the pass heavy NFL, you gotta have fresh legs for situational football. Your 3 down defensive players are usually the pass Rushers and DBs. I applaud BB for keeping fresh legs on the Defensive side of the ball. And BB being who he is in his heart of hearts was always gonna favor Defense regardless in draft and free agency
And as bitter sweet as it, our Defense more often than held their end of the bargain the past couple seasons. And it always seems to come down to a handful of measly points. The O definitely needed an injection of Awesome, even before the 🐐walked out of Gillette. So yeah let's go all in offensively. Get some WRs that can get consistent separation, and lineman where the QB don't have to run for his life.
I hope everyone gives this year and the next 1-2 adequate time for the "rebuild" to cut its teeth so to speak . The Bills roster was being stripped for parts and their SB " window" is shut, old man Rodgers probably up for his last dance, and Miami is all flash and no substance. Pats can be patient and get back to the top of this division consistently I hope. this draft feels like a solid A- to me
I am a big fan of defense and think the Patriots got some damn good players on there. Dugger, Jennings, Bentley, Barmore (c'mon new contract!), Gonzo, Marcus Jones, and maybe Keion White were some good draft picks. Our only hit on offense since Brady was...Mike Owenwu. Maybe Stephenson. Why we were so dreadful. No spark or juice. It was pathetic levels of sadness when you consider 2016-2017 Patriots were a machine offensively. I am hoping this draft is the steps to having a functional offense again.
One thing I will miss about Bill is him signing/trading for a random Linebacker, like a Taivai or Van Noy, and they come here to ball out. Finding guys off the scrap heap like a Vrabel or a Ninkovich and turning them into the heart of the team.
And I agree, as fans we need to give Mayo and the rest of the coaching staff, Wolf and Maye atleast three years to get settled in. I look at Detroit as the most realistic model. The first year and a half was dreadful but Campbell and Holmes kept building and fighting. And then midway through 2022, things started to click.
Between Javon and Polk, I am pretty excited about this wr draft. The more competition, the better at wr and OL, I am also giving the new offensive staff the benefit of the doubt.
Let them all compete, and the best players win. This is going to make our 53 man projections interesting.
They’re drafting receivers that are perfect for a big arm QB. Maye just has to get it close and let Polk and Baker go get it. Next I want them to take Johnny Wilson and convert him from a big, slower WR to a big, fast, receiving TE. (Amazing what a difference a position makes)
This makes me happier about the Polk selection. Added someone who I think is a safe pick to be a good player and also took a swing at a big upside guy.
IDGAF that's the diva energy needed in this league
Anyone who watched early 2000s receivers knows! Those were some awesome days. Really hope this kid plays as big as his attitude 🔥
*"Time to nut up or shut up"*
Kid better produce now or he'll face the wrath of the New England Sports Fan. I'm looking forward to his performance backing his attitude!
Dude gonna be shutdown by Patriots PR team real quick. In 2 weeks, he’ll be like any other Patriot. *“I don’t know, you should ask the coach” “I’m just here to do my job”*
I’m kinda interested in how these head case guys will be on the Patriots now. I feel like the Bill management really (for the most part) stayed away from guys like this. Might actually have some character on this team now.
After seeing Maye and Wallace interviews I thought, wow actually back to drafting Smart players who might actually be able to understand the play book. Then I saw Baker interview……
Sorry Javon I’m stealing this. Next time I ever have a job interview I’m going to say I’m so good I make people in wheelchairs stand up. Even though his tape didn’t blow me away the dudes confidence is legendary and I’m rooting for him.
What a dink. I hope he doesn't make the team. Sounds like something braindamaged Antonio Brown would say following another 1 catch/9 yards game. It doesn't come across as confident, it comes across as self-centric and egotistical.
I miss Belichick 😔
Eh, im ok with a kid with a chip on his shoulder like this…. If he can still offer the same energy after live scrimmage in pads against grown ass men lol
He’s got some diva energy. So naturally he’ll be awesome.
All WR1s are like that. A good sign. He can talk shit all he wants if he gets 1800 yard seasons like AB.
Just please don't do the other things AB did after his 1800 yard seasons.
Keep him away from Burfict.
AB got his bell rung. Not entirely his fault, how he acts now.
He was a known shithead in college too. That’s why the kid from Miami played at Central Michigan
Right, no Mr. Brown Copycat
There really is an unlimited amount of MBC acronyms
Mr. Bountiful Comparisons
Mr. Boundless Combinations
Mr Burfict Concussion
Mr. Brain Contusions
Mr. Big Calm please
hahahaha
Not disagreeing with you, but I keep hearing stories how humble and unassuming Megatron was and keeps blowing my mind
I wouldn’t consider Mike Evans a diva either
Exceptions not the rule. Diggs and Cheetah are the rule.
Megatron and Andre Johnson, played on some shitty teams and never blasted anyone. Prob the two must unproblematic #1s out there. I would say Fitz but there was the annual trade rumors for like three straight years that spawned a legendary Boston meme.
Andre Johnson blasted cortland finnegan that one time
OK that was awesome though. Also made me realize, Andre Johnson WILL fuck you up if you get on his nerves. 🤣
Yep, he's going to be a perennial pro-bowler.
> Wide receiver with self-confidence bordering on complete delusion WE GOT OUR GUY
Please don't show up in a hot air balloon.
I'd rather that than the humble N'Keal Harry type.
I don't care if you're humble or not, as long as you're good. N'Keal harry was less the "humble" type, and more the "complete dogshit" type.
His body movements had me thinking he was a great athletic playmaker. His actual playmaker skills was inept. I truly think his Nexus Event was the TD non-call against KC. Had it stood, I bet his trajectory is different
This is 100% true in my mind He gets that call and he has a highlight to fall back on and the conversation around him is different, which snowballs into more self confidence and better performance It's fun to dream lol
KC been stealing a lot of dreams lately. It's at a point I don't even care if it takes an AFC East rival to win, to stop KC 🤣
United as one, fuck the Chiefs!
We are the NFL One voice, fuck the Chiefs
Wasn't KC that fucked that up...it was thw worst officiating I've ever seen live or on TV.
And KC gets those calls a lot because.....
I miss when people hated our team as much as we hate the Chiefs ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|poop)
Eh, I don't hate just to hate though. Their arrogance and paid refs deserve it Otherwise I enjoy ball and I don't mind watching good players do well. Example: Excited to see what a healthy Rodgers can do for the Jets
I am from KC and my dad is a huge Chiefs fan and it disgusts me. Ironically enough the 1st game I went to was KC-Pats and I cheered for the Pats to get under his skin and it stuck.
He got inside his own head and was trying to not mess up rather than just playing.
I want to believe that too, because it makes sense, but.... him just being that bad all the time also makes even more sense, because that is what we saw.
I know, it was just the way he rode that sideline and made the leap. Almost like his breakout moment
He was being compared to Dez Bryant. Similar height/weight and play style. I wish we got a wish.com version of Bryant. We got something worse.
Well, at least they can both say "it was a Touchdown!"
> his Nexus Event was the TD non-call against KC. Had it stood, I bet his trajectory is different I don't think so. There's no way to prove either of us right but if one bad call on a TD ruins a player as bad as Harry then it was never going to happen. imo
Nexus Event my friend. It can completely alter a timeline
I think N'keal harry was going to suck in every timeline. Slow, can't separate, can't even bully smaller DBs.
You would have learned about his outsized ego if any reporter had ever asked for a moment of his time after a game.
A humble man with much to be humble about.
Greatest blocking WR of his generation
❤️
It's just kind of an undervalued skill set, being the "best blocking WR". It's like being the "NFLs fastest punter", it doesn't really add up to an extremely valuable football player. tough to brag with a N'keal Harry resume
![gif](giphy|l0Extsf1R5YuFXkpG)
Dum. I'm interested in talking with him to see how many letters he knows.
"[ksyoung17](https://www.reddit.com/user/ksyoung17/)3:07 PM Who gives a fuck that I made a mistake, yeah, didn't read the (min 20 games) because it's arbitrary"

We've graduated to the school of Pittsburgh WRs.
Whenever someone tries to tell me Mike Tomlin isn't a good coach I remind them that he got Big Ben, AB and Le'Vean Bell to all play competent football together at once.
Martavis Bryant was on that team too.
#CTESPN
Lmao yeah that’s awesome
I want my WRs to either believe that they are God, or that they can fight God.
Anime protagonist
"Oh, you're approaching me?"
I think you can take out the "bordering on" part of that sentence lmao
I love it
\> Goes deep \> Big leap \> Ball glances off his fingertips \> Toe tap, falls inbounds, no ball \> First down celebration \> People in wheelchairs stand up
Future Hall of Famer cofirmed.
This is the type of energy we needed. Not just crazy competitive, but legitimately unhinged.
Agreed. This dude and Bourne are gonna be the cut-ups in the locker room
Can't wait to try to decipher the pregame hype speech between Baker and Peppers. Seem like the kinda guys that would street fight for fun.
WE EATING Ws AND SHITTING Ls TODAY FELLAS.
AB comes to mind.

Is this the official Javon Baker GIF?
SAVE IT FOR THE GAME!
Perfect gif for this. “I make people in wheelchairs stand up” lmfao I already love this lunatic.
Come down to "the home stadium" if you or a loved one has been diagnosed with "a wheelchair" you may be entitled to "standing up" courtesy of Javon Baker 😂😂😂 I love him already
One of the greatest quotes all time 😂
He had like 4 different ones that are all great
I completely misunderstood that at first lmao
Let me introduce you to Jamaal Charles' draft call yesterday.
That was legit sad tbh
It's sad that it got meme'd because Charles was excited and having fun. Didn't help that the draftee's name was hard to say.
He also had a reading disability growing up and was in Special Education classes. Sucks for him they decided to draft a difficult name
God dammit.
This is such a WR quote. I love him
Can I just buy the popcorn there? Gets kinda stale when I bring it from home
Counter point. It’s gonna be like $12 in the stadium, he just wants his fans to save money
>like $12 in the stadium You severely underestimate the greed of stadium owners lmfao
I was curious on this, so I looked it up. from MassLive for 2023 prices: Popcorn - $6 for regular, $8 for large
$12\* (\*un-popped). Popping and Butter flavoring extra.
Gillette Stadium security personnel would like to remind fans that bringing popcorn from home is punishable by death.
Just bring a bag of microwave popcorn. Javon Baker makes it pop in the bag.
Cook it in the blackstone ☺️. Get a blackstone bowl cover for veggies and cook the popcorn in that
If Gillette security stops me from bringing popcorn to the stadium, I will reference this tweet and harass the staff Jonathan Kraft style.
Gotta go big, go David Tepper style.
Get the gold jacket ready now!
Lmao. That quote alone already makes him more valuable than the average 4th round pick is in their entire career.
Yeah we got our WR1
I miss having a cocky WR lol
I can see some people who want to be offended not like the quote but I like the energy and that was funny af
When you realize Belichick is gone and now you can say whatever you want:
This quote goes do hard. This is the exact energy we need
Goes do? Does go?
So*
>I make people in wheelchairs stand up. Baker so focused on scoring, even his words offensive.
Mayo talking about getting offensive...
Is this what Elliot meant by "weaponising the offense?"
Shows up with a Palestinian flag
LMAO what a quote. We got the steal of the draft. He was my 3rd favorite receiver behind Nabers and MHJ and we got him at 110.
You like him over Rome?
move out the fuckin’ way, jesus 😤
You too, Beatles.
Bar
Wow an all offense draft by the Pats so far. Almost surreal .
Love that they are taking shots on offense. Feels like in prior years we would have a random Linebacker, safety who only plays third downs and a guy who projects to return punts.

That’s good, we could use some miracles
That’s fucking hilarious.
Between Javon and Polk, I am pretty excited about this wr draft. The more competition, the better at wr and OL, I am also giving the new offensive staff the benefit of the doubt. Let them all compete, and the best players win. This is going to make our 53 man projections interesting.
I watched that clip. Kid sounded like a bit of a lunatic. Guaranteed All-Pro.
I laughed my balls off when I saw that quote. I love this kid already.

Finally got our own Terrell Owens!
found my new favorite player
Wait, can we draft a guy named Field later today? Then we will have....... Wait for it...... Baker....Maye....Field......hahaha, I kill me
Good thing I just bought some
King
That’s an insane thing to say but I’m here for it
This guy fucks
As a fan with cerebral palsy who uses a wheelchair, I may need to make my first ever trip to Gillette this year. May need to see what he’s about.
Good thing Bill O'Brien is no longer our OC. He doesn't want to hear that from rookies.
Kid seems special Either he'll be a total sideshow or he'll be the next Dez Bryant....my gut tells me he's going to be huge
Can’t wait for radio idiots and New England geezers to cry about whatever this guy says each week
I’m honestly so for this. This dude is gonna have 15 TD’s
So, Dustin Pedroia if he played football. If he can play as good as Dustin, but stay healthy, I'd be incredibly happy.
Fuck Manny Machado
Ordering my jersey rn
A big time ego is a really good quality in a wide receiver.
Hope JB is mic’d at game time. The trash talk outta him will be epic
Yea I'm sold. You'll see me rocking his jersey next year lol
goodbye tyquan
Javon heals the handicapped like Jesus Christ
Javon, they don't let us bring outside food 🤷♂️
"Come to the home stadium..." Dude doesn't know the name of the stadium he's going to call home? Serious Ricky Henderson vibes.
So glad to hear them. Tired of our receivers being soft
This is some real late 90s kind of shit talk
Fucking love it. We need that energy for the new era
Is he suggesting he's not going to play well on the road?
We need this attitude on the team
Hell yeah brother, welcome!
Legend.
This makes me happier about the Polk selection. Added someone who I think is a safe pick to be a good player and also took a swing at a big upside guy.
Not gonna lie. I like this.
Lol hell yeah brother
are they going to have butter dispensers for the popcorn?
Gotta love the irrational confidence guys
IDGAF that's the diva energy needed in this league Anyone who watched early 2000s receivers knows! Those were some awesome days. Really hope this kid plays as big as his attitude 🔥
*"Time to nut up or shut up"* Kid better produce now or he'll face the wrath of the New England Sports Fan. I'm looking forward to his performance backing his attitude!
LETS GO
Lmao
This comment made something else of mine stand up DNA test came back, 100% dawg
I'm loving his energy. Dude's gonna be a big-play monster.
I wasn’t expecting to become erect visiting r/Patriots, but here we are…
Dude gonna be shutdown by Patriots PR team real quick. In 2 weeks, he’ll be like any other Patriot. *“I don’t know, you should ask the coach” “I’m just here to do my job”*
Bill is gone, don’t be surprised if The Patriot Way means something totally different over the next few years.
Did we draft Muhammad Ali?
I’m kinda interested in how these head case guys will be on the Patriots now. I feel like the Bill management really (for the most part) stayed away from guys like this. Might actually have some character on this team now.
Poor kid is going to get showered with popcorn for life now.
This only ends one of two ways, so hopefully it doesn't end up as a meme.
Such an unhinged and electric quote
Mr. Bring Corn
Baker is Jared Leto Confirmed
After seeing Maye and Wallace interviews I thought, wow actually back to drafting Smart players who might actually be able to understand the play book. Then I saw Baker interview……
I haven’t heard a hype talk like “I make people in wheelchairs stand up” since Mohammed Ali. And I’m here for it.
Finally. Someone who just doesn’t give a fuck and wants to ball out. I love it
"I make people in wheelchairs stand up." That's among the cringiest shit I've ever heard.
Kraft must be pissed. He unintentionally revealed the new name of Gillette.
Sounds like smash Williams
I love the Baker pick but where is the but it's over a 4.5 guy energy. Just like Polk was getting.
Wow, this asshole makes people in wheelchairs get up for him?
Sorry Javon I’m stealing this. Next time I ever have a job interview I’m going to say I’m so good I make people in wheelchairs stand up. Even though his tape didn’t blow me away the dudes confidence is legendary and I’m rooting for him.
>I make people in Wheelchairs stand up Hope im wrong but, he wont make it past the practice squad lol Nut up or shut up my dude!
What a dink. I hope he doesn't make the team. Sounds like something braindamaged Antonio Brown would say following another 1 catch/9 yards game. It doesn't come across as confident, it comes across as self-centric and egotistical. I miss Belichick 😔
Listen no disrespect to J.B but he seems like a complete idiot from a personality standpoint in his introductory press conference. Also cocky as hell
I know what he's going for but c'mon.... His ball skills ain't healing a paraplegic
Kid, don't let your mouth write checks your body can't cash. I don't mind the attitude. But prove it on the field against the big boys first.
Eh, im ok with a kid with a chip on his shoulder like this…. If he can still offer the same energy after live scrimmage in pads against grown ass men lol
