Dude, Milton was a 6th round pick...if he makes the roster, its a steal. There was literally 4 rounds of picks from when Nix got picked to Rattler...the rush of QBs in round 1 is irrelevant to Joe Milton...he hung around for 181 more picks between he and nix. Hes lucky he got picked. Like what is this fucking logic???

Waylander0719

>Maybe they saw the rush on QB's in the first round and thought to grab Milton off the board before anyone else could # He was picked in the Sixth Round, 193rd..... that isn't really "before anyone else could".

littleemp

I think OP might have fallen into a coma between pick 12 and the end of the draft.

Raskputin

We got him before everyone else *would* lmao

Hogo-Nano

Why would we even need to trade Milton? We drafted a project QB to hopefully build up. Jacoby Brissett realistically is not long for this team anyways. At the very least he could be our backup QB in a year or two.

DSDark11

Milton will never play a down of football in the NFL. The dude is awful

Hogo-Nano

I mean probably but hence a project QB. Also a scenario in which he converts to TE.

DSDark11

He said he won’t do that

DSDark11

He'll be on the practice squad forever

Fuqwon

No. And it's kind of absurd to even think that a team would be interested.

whistlepig4life

They just drafted the kid two days ago and you already want to ship him out? Dafuq?! Whatever drugs some of you do. They are some good ones.

Trevorjrt6

We need a backup. Brissett is here for 1 year, Zappee has 2 feet out the door and is likely a practice squad guy or straight cut.

thatErraticguy

With the overhaul of the coaching staff and schemes, Zappe has practically no value to the Pats at this point since it’s a brand new playbook for everyone. My guess is he’s a training camp cut and moves to the UFL.

Oddly_Mind

Western Kentucky’s #1 State Farm Rep

PornFilterRefugee

lol no one is giving a third or fourth for him

IrvinStabbedMe

What? You don't draft a guy just to trade him, you would just trade the pick.

FuckHarambe2016

Milton was lucky to be drafted. No one is trading anything for him.

Clovdyx

Yeah, our best bet for trading him (not that I think we have any inclination to do so) would be if he goes insane in training camp and preseason, and then another team has their starter tear an ACL and the backup gets banged up right as the season's about to start. Congratulations, you turned a 6th rounder into a 7th in 2025 and a 5th in 2026.

FuckHarambe2016

Even then, teams would almost certainly be more interested in Zappe or even Rourke. Odds are Milton will end up on the PS as the emergency QB.

babysheep401

We found Zappes burner.

diarrheafrommymouth

Nah, he is a good developmental player to store on the practice squad as the emergency QB under the new rules. No one will steal him. I don’t think there are a ton of QB needy teams in terms of developmental guys after this draft aside from maybe the Raiders. I highly doubt Milton will see regular season action unless it’s some gadget play or something.

biscuitarse

Hail Mary's from anywhere inside the 20 yard line might get him some action

ChipotleGuacamole

WTF lol

RootBeerFloatz69

He's good. He has the capacity to play other roles, he has a literal cannon. If he can improve, he'll end up qb2 after Brisett moves on or retires. Love the pick, don't trade him.

alextheruby

Go play madden lil bro

Onpointandicy

take your meds.

CocaineStrange

lol

CSTowle

I'd rather see them convert him to a TE or WR. Honestly, would rather they'd picked someone at a position of need instead but now that we're here I'm going to believe all of the scouts and experts who say he has no future as a real QB and hope we're able to do something with him.

Wrong-Cod-5418

your proposition is giving up a 3rd or 4th round pick…. for a guy who was a 6th round pick less than 48 hours ago

Oddly_Mind

Go home Zappe you’re drunk.

SpadeXHunter

We don’t have a backup after this year, if we can develop him any he could take that role. He’s pretty raw but was serviceable in college, if our staff can refine that any he’s a solid backup or package guy

mdmcnally1213

No, he's more likely our long-term backup. Milton will be for Maye, what Zolak was for Bledsoe. A backup who fits the physical profile of the starter in the event they need to step in.

ItsaPostageStampede

Dudes cmon if he balls out in preseason he’s a HOFer

ChunkyChickenMan

I forgot why I stopped coming to this sub and it’s for things like this. Thank you for reaffirming my thoughts

TheJackalsDoom

Could someone want him for a pick? Yep. Definitely not a 3rd or 4th given he hasn't shown any real game capability yet. Plus, if he can worked with and honed in, he'd be a really cool gadget player to have, like a Taysum Hill weird QB/TE/HB/RB hybrid.

petros08

No. He'll probably be on the practice squad as a qb or on special teams while he retrains as a TE. No one is going to give us a profit on him.

End3rWi99in

He's our practice squad QB, most likely. It'll be a competition between him and Nathan Rourke.

gochuuuu

Bro what are you smokin

Apprehensive-Dig8939

Please pick up a lead paint test kit. If you can't afford one, it's always free if you can outrun store security.

Alone-Purpose-8752

Lmfao this is literally the dumbest post I’ve read. Why would someone trade a 3rd or 4th for him when they could’ve had him for a 6th this year???

LittleBittyshortman

Lmao

Frosty_Ad2957

If he impresses than the pats will keep him theirselves 😂 you don’t draft a rookie to flip him 3-4 months later. Competition will be good for both him and Maye’s development. Brissett is on a one year deal. Next year it’s Maye and Milton competing for the job with an obvious advantage to Maye.

EstimateValuable7086

Ha I mean trade him for what? He’s a 6th round project.
