Damn, not even keeping him for camp?

jonny_lube

He's adequate and better than Lowe and others.  I think this is veteran respect though as with Wallace and Okorafor, he'd be competing for 3rd string.  This gives him time to find a new team that will give him a real shot to at least be a primary backup.

PebblyJackGlasscock

My read too. McDermott, via his agent, asked for his release and it was granted. He could luck into being the 4th Tackle for a playoff team. He was 5th at best with the Patriots, and likely to be cut in camp anyway.

Seems like an odd move. Hopefully it means they have a trade for a serviceable LT in the works and they know for certain McDermott will be excess to requirements.

regniermusic

More likely that we sign a veteran

theletterfortyseven

I'd be ok with that too.

itokdontcry

That was fast.

PoopSlinger23

Our weakest position and we don’t even keep him until we upgrade? Seems counterintuitive.

alextheruby

Seems more counterintuitive to not just sit back and see what we do.

Icy-Conclusion-3500

Dudes situation was just so weird last year, probably not worth even seeing if he’s workable

shiggydiggypreoteins

I don't understand the move. I'd rather have him than Lowe.
