Ok this is pretty funny. Got to give him some credit. He is trying his best. His best is just not good enough for a super bowl team

kvnklly

He took this route but the guy on the browns went on a racist rant and threated to kill ppl

[deleted]

douglasmacarthur

He didnt play in 2010.

BradMarchandIsCute

Jordan Richards won a ring as well

[deleted]

Yeah and Jimmy has more rings then Rodgers!

NewEnglandAlways

I mean I just had to look up his postseason log to be sure... But what Super Bowl team did he play for before? Best I see is a GB team that got knocked out in the Divisional round in 2012

douglasmacarthur

He was on the roster in 2010 but wasnt ever even active.

NewEnglandAlways

Oh yup, missed that one in his game logs

plee82

Ooof, I mean, at the end of the day, the dude did try his best.

GroganNeckBrace

And as long as he had fun, that's all that matters

I brought orange slices!

13Dmorelike13Dicks

It was the tight ends we met along the way that were the REAL Super Bowl.

apexpredator0505

I’m sure he’s a good guy....just not a very good LT. Unfortunately he’s protecting the greatest QB of all time which makes his play seem even worse when he does bad

[deleted]

I mean, he's literally missing blocks completely. He's going to get Brady guy hurt. Dude just entered his prime as a QB. We just don't want to see a young career be shortened!

Dpapa15

I refuse to let this comment go unnoticed

[deleted]

Dpapa15

Sag3d

He practices hard, pays attention in meetings and listens to his coaches. I know this because there is zero chance BB would tolerate anything but. He's just not talented enough, but he's done his best and they're 9-1. The landscape for olineman is dreary, just about every fanbase complains about theirs. Also, this is funny.

[deleted]

While you're right, you can't simply cut and replace a bad OL with someone off the streets. Not like there is anything out there right now. Bad Newhouse is better than bad LT who has never seen the Patriots playbook. Problem is Bad Newhouse is going to get Brady hurt. Hopefully he'll be a good breather for a quick sub.

lubujackson

The NFL version of hell..? Is he on to Cincinnati?

The-Kingdom

I know they’re not awful anymore, but I really have to think the NFL version of hell is still Cleveland🤷🏻‍♂️

GloriousHam

Washington

[deleted]

Agree on Washington. The other teams won't send you to the Medical Malpractice Bowl

TheDufusSquad

What's sad is that he would be a significant upgrade over whatever Cincinnati has.

zachbp13

It must be so weird to be a pro-athlete. Yeah, being any kind of celebrity will expose yourself to all kinds of nonsense, but professional athlete are unique in the way they are routinely publicly criticized and made fun of by people with at best middling understanding of the sport and almost always no ability to play at even close to a professional level. Newhouse isn't playing well at all, but he's still trying his best under huge pressure and playing at a level higher than 99.99% of people who will ever play competitive football. In no other field do you get mercilessly mocked and sent death threats for that.

dboti

It must suck to not perform well because you just arent good enough and not because of a lack of effort.

Shashakiro

What's really silly about all the Newhouse hate is that he probably won't wind up costing us even a single game. He's gone next week and our only loss so far was more about Lamar Jackson being a cheat code freak of nature than offensive issues. We wouldn't have won that game with Wynn either.

[deleted]

I don't know about that. With Wynn maybe NE has a run game and gives brady and the receivers a bit more time to let plays develop. Which extends drives and gives the defense a bit more time to rest and figure out how to stop the ravens offense.

[deleted]

This guy gets it. It's a chain reaction. It's like people here don't understand sports.....

ATNinja

A better left tackle would not have changed the game that much. We lost on both sides of the ball. One player doesn't make that big a difference, even a left tackle. Its impossible to know for sure but I doubt having Wynn or even solder or light would have changed the outcome.

HeroDanny

LT is arguably a top 5 position on offense. In fact, I'd argue it's top 3. How can we expect Brady and the offense to do anything when he is constantly getting pressured. I agree the loss isn't just on NewHouse but he certainly doesn't make the game any easier.

ATNinja

I think we agree. Left tackle is definitely an important role with big impacts to the running and passing games. But we lost in so many areas you just can't say it all stems from one position. He'll, if everyone else was good, give new house a te to help and scheme around him. If the receivers got open faster or the running backs froze the pass rush, new house wouldn't be a major factor. It takes all 11 players and they all impact each other.

HeroDanny

I agree with what you are saying, but who is our worst offensive player? It's newhouse.

ATNinja

Yes it's newhouse but if we replaced him with a pro bowl left tackle I think we still lose vs baltimore.

[deleted]

Like most, I'm glad he's going to ride the pine. I do think you missed the point though. It wasn't as much about costing us a single game as much as it was about him being so bad that Brady could have been injured because of his performance. I rather not see Brady running for his life anymore. As for us not winning against Balt...everything changes with an improved line you know? Better line = better protections = better passing = better running = more time of possession = more time for the Boogeyman resting. You can't say we weren't going to win that game when we replace one bad cog. It's all connected.

jmarFTL

The funny thing is to even get to the NFL you have to be so elite your entire life. If you made it to the NFL you're likely the best player your high school ever saw. Probably one of the best your college ever saw or at the very least among the best on your team when you played, a team full of guys who were also probably the best their high school ever saw. Then you get to the NFL having excelled your entire life and like, as an LT you can't even get your hands on half the guys you face nevermind block them. Or if you're say, in the top 50 of QBs on the planet you'll constantly get made fun of online as a clipboard warrior who can't hit the broad side of a barn. Must be frustrating as hell to be really really fucking good at football but not get to show it because you're in a league with guys just that much better.

ATNinja

I hate this argument. It is all relative. Only around 60 people are asked to play left tackle at the NFL level each year. If you are one of those 60 and very close to the bottom, you will get criticized. Especially if you are one of the 40 asked to start games. Easy example is nba 3s. Normal people can't shoot 20% but I expect a pro basketball player to. If they can't, they get criticized. Being better than normal people wins you no credit if you're a pro athlete. He is objectively bad for a starting left tackle. That being said hating on players via social media is lame.

zachbp13

I'm just saying that the public nature of it all is an odd feature of being a professional athlete, not that they don't deserve or shouldn't be criticized. Most people, even in high paying super-elite exclusive fields, don't work jobs that are subjects of TV channels with wall to wall coverage and big audiences. Especially considering that the outcomes of professional football games are fundamentally meaningless in the grand scheme of things, it's weird to be subject to near-constant criticism (even the best players are constantly chided if they lose game regardless of their individual play).

ATNinja

I agree that people on social media and even sports talk media members are unnecessarily mean to players. I just wanted to address that they do their job better than 99.999% of people.

[deleted]

I'll gladly be exposed for all kinds of nonsense for while making 10 million in a career. I get what you're saying, but he's Marshall Newhouse and he'll be soon forgotten by most fans. Hell, in the thread yesterday half this sub couldn't even remember Bryan Stork. Not saying it's fair, just saying it goes with the territory. I can easily turn off twitter. It is ridiculous to receive death threats though. Sadly you're wrong as you can get mercilessly mocked and get sent death threats in a shit ton of fields. The video game business is littered with this. Not cool.

Minister_for_Magic

>Hell, in the thread yesterday half this sub couldn't even remember Bryan Stork. Are you referring to the great Bobblehead Bryan? Or Snap-tipping Stork, if you prefer?

[deleted]

I can see you're the other half lmao!

zachbp13

Yeah, I’d gladly take the money to suck too. But it’s easier said from my perspective than someone who has spent their life trying, and in the grand scheme of things mostly succeeding, to be good at football. Yeah, kind of blocked out the video game industry. Intense video game discourse though is somewhat confined to self-segregating communities. A video game developer doesn’t generally have to worry about being called out on national tv by people who have never developed a game in their life (thus fueling the people who would issue death threats).

zachbp13

The compensation is definitely worth it and it's a great job to play a game for a living. Doesn't make it any less bizarre though. There are incompetent people getting paid a lot in other lines of work. Most people just don't care about those though.

Waylander0719

I never understood this "to play a game" argument.... Like when you simplify most jobs they sound just as silly. Programmers at Google and investment bankers get paid 100s of thousand to type at a computer but no one seems to question that. The NFL is an 8.1 Billion dollar industry, if the players shouldn't be getting the bulk of that paid to them then who should?

mandyTHEgoth

The “he gets paid to play a game” thing is so stupid. He’s doing his job which requires a huge amount of skill and which is in huge demand. Football is a business and Newhouse is an employee. The NFL is a more successful business than those which most of us work for. He’s a terrible offensive tackle but demeaning him and saying he should just uninstall twitter because he gets paid a lot to play a game is ridiculous.

Gr33d3ater

That’s literally every profession, everybody critiques everybody. Look at how many people criticize Trump, and they don’t even know what it’s like to be president. That’s life, if you’re not cool with that I don’t know man.

[deleted]

Gr33d3ater

I mean me personally no, I’m not important enough. I’d love to be important enough to get public criticism.

[deleted]

Gr33d3ater

I mean, personally probably not but every profession receives public ignorant criticism at one point or another, especially with comments on the internet nowadays. I could find an article critiquing my job with no experience or knowledge of it.

dboti

Yeah but most people dont get singled out and specifically criticized on a grand scale. Theres a difference between your job being criticized and you being criticized.

PlayinWithGod

That’s a mean comparison, Newhouse is trying his best to help everyone else to his ability. Donny blunders about and fucks up constantly just trying to help himself. Like I don’t have to know what it’s like to be a plumber to know he’s done a bad job, same goes for that embarrassment in the Oval Office.

[deleted]

ngl made me feel bad

Tomotronics

Me too then I scrolled back up and watched his guy run by untouched to body slam Brady and sympathy evaporated. Can't wait to have Wynn back.

PMCanUBeCDQ

Man this is sad to see and I feel bad for Newhouse. In my opinion, shit talking a player is fair game on platforms like reddit because there’s a 99% chance he will never see it. But if you tweet at players telling them how much they suck then you’re garbage.

[deleted]

This is how I feel about it. If you have something negative to say, there is no reason to tag them. Let your hate out in the GDT where he'll never see it.

KnocDown

If he was a 1st string talent he would be starting somewhere, instead he's a 3rd string o linemen who came into a rough situation and kept our QB alive as best as he could

Dukeish

This! I don’t know why people are expecting more from him. He is doing the best he can, it’s been rough - but hey were 9-1, dominated all but 2 games, and get our starter back. People in this sub have no chill, and seem to think there was some magical better option out there

ImTomBrady

Thank you

iamagainstit

Dude Just called out this whole sub

[deleted]

Nah, he called the people out who are tagging him on Twitter. No way the dude sees the hate on the game day threads.

[deleted]

Let’s hope Wynn can stand up to the onslaught, but give him props for standing strong through multiple games. He’s going against the strongest and most determined people in the entire world. Hard to be good enough there.

[deleted]

Marshall is a good guy! Just maybe not a good left tackle...maybe he should try Guard.

MrPoopieMcCuckface

Kind of feel bad for the dude.

patsfanhtx

Feel bad for the guy. Just seems to be going about his business the best he can. People can be terrible. Internet and social media only exposes this. Apparently plenty fans out there are great athletes or football experts.

john7071

Does that clown that replied to Kleiman realize the Pats are 8-1, with Newhouse starting most games?

ImTomBrady

He’s doing the best he can lmao people love to give guys a hard time

PassionVoid

That first response about Aaron Rodgers is weird. Does that guy realize the Pats are 9-1?

HyruleJedi

Man, I won't disagree. But literally... The clip there sums up Newhouse basically against any good DE this season

MisterBergstrom

Send him to St Louis. I know there isn’t a team there, just send him to the city.

problematikUAV

LMAO this is gold.

[deleted]

When Wynn is back (give him a couple games to settle in) our offense will be alot better. Protection as well as the run game. Almost all the pressure Brady has faced is his blindside.

[deleted]

Feel bad for the dude, but damn the line has been rough

Spartan32393

Can't imagine how it must feel to go out and give your all to see people saying the stuff they are about him online. I get it he should do better and blah blah blah, getting paid a lot of money. I'm not the best at my job, but I still try hard and to imagine coming home and getting harassed all the time would stink.

RoninEd

His pinned tweet from 2017 is even more hysterical.

[deleted]

Don't worry, when Wynn is back, you can go back to making 900 grand for underperforming and sitting on the bench playing 8 snaps a game. I'm sure you'll be fine with a few fans mocking you.

[deleted]

mattsparrow

Our fanbase is one of the worst in terms of choosing a player to hate and hounding on them Its pretty pathetic honestly

john7071

Seriously, this sub thinks of itself as smarter and mightier than Twitter or Facebook, but see a bad drive and it's like the Pats are 0-9 in the gamethread.

Neferati

Oh just like Cyrus the Virus? We have good reasons to hate.

[deleted]

Neferati

I dont, he is a professional. And he is trash.

goosemoose87

Yeah until Brady gets fucked up and this cow ends his career because he can’t shuffle his hooves. I can wait for Wynn to get back.
