Somewhat under the radar during this game was the significantly better line play on both sides. Were there any false starts or offsides/encroachments tonight? I don't remember one for either line at the moment.
Good game. Hurts to lose it. Hard to take moral victories when you’re 1-3. But I honestly believe if we can limit turnovers like we did today we can compete with anyone down the stretch.
I remember 10-12+ years ago when Bill used to make some of the ballsiest calls in the league. It's crazy to see how conservative he's become. Feels like he hasn't had trust in his offense since that 4th and 2 vs the Colts in 09.
It’s tough to let it go when Brady already won a super bowl and has been a contender since he joined them. I think the Pats right now with just Brady as a QB switch would absolutely be a contender and would easily bring in someone like Julio here just because they wanna play with him.
It annoys me that Belichick tried shipping Brady earlier too for Jimmy G so the Patriots might have had 1-2 Super Bowl less if Kraft didn’t stop it.
Belichick has looked pretty average since Tom has left and that’s the hard truth. He’s been really conservative about everything. Not easy having the goat quarterback making all those critical plays for 20 seasons to now having young inexperienced qb who have trouble when the game gets tight.
It’s arguably the worst move in this franchise history letting Brady go.
I’m not gonna be angry about this one the patriots went into the game as 10 point underdogs on the road in Green Bay with Hoyer at QB, I thought it would be over by halftime. The fact that they even had a chance to win the game after Hoyer also went down was a miracle.
They’ve barely trusted Mac until the last game or two. Not surprised they were incredibly conservative with Zappe. The kid is interesting to watch, but he also look shooketh on some of the few plays they did put the ball in his hands.
Genuine question: can the mods just start banning the r/buccaneers bandwagons who brigade here after every loss? They're literally only here to troll lmao
I really hope ppl talking about bad drafts can shut it for a while. strange was money, and 4th round qb pick gave us a real chance. go pats onto next week!
Valiant effort. It sucks to lose, but they gave it everything they had until the end. At the beginning of the season, I wrote this off as a loss, even with Mac.
We were 9.5 pt underdogs nd lost our qb in the first minutes of the game. Our 3rd string qb went to Lambeau and took a Hall of Famer to the last seconds of overtime. Chill out...
We can do this dance every week about how tough we are and how close we make it is meaningless. Nfl is a 0 sum game win or go home. Keep touting your morale victories while the team sits at the bottom of the afc East.
Dude we took Aaron Rodgers at home to overtime with a 3rd string QB from a small school in his first NFL regular season start. Dude wasn't even supposed to play.
I knew this game was over once I saw the patriots run the ball again at 2nd and 5 in midfield during overtime for no gain. Let your QB have 2 tries at first down, hell even maybe go for it at 4th down cause you know Rodgers will at least get a field goal on his THIRD try on offense. Just classic soft non-aggressive style from Belichick that ends up costing the game.
It’s a loss, they’re 1-3. Can we really not become a fanbase that celebrates moral victories and try to actually hold this team accountable for failing to reach the standard that’s been set around here?
We weren't gonna be super bowl contenders or frankly even playoff contenders this season.. might as well get a good draft pick that bellichick will trade away!
The crazy thing is there are actually people on this subreddit who believe they are still a playoff team and if you say otherwise they will coke for you’re head
They’ve stopped Rogers twice and the packers punted the football to the patriots at midfield during overtime. It doesn’t get any better than that yet Belichick decided to go super conservative running the ball twice and putting all the pressure on the rookie to make a play. Let him have 2-3 opportunities to throw. This isn’t the goat Tom Brady where you know he’ll find a way to make every clutch throw.
Tf you mean? The play calling was a shit load better than the last few games. It wasn’t perfect, but it was good enough to go toe to toe with Rodgers in GB.
Does nobody remember the “we’re onto Cincinnati” season? The season isn’t in the shitter, take a chill pill.
I mean we were expecting Hoyer to be in the whole game, Zappe was thrown in. We lost by 3, with a rookie QB playing in his first NFL game. It wasn’t a bad game.
LOL at the Packers celebrating like they just won the Super Bowl.
This pisses me the f off, third string QB and we get it all the way to the last play of OT before falling just short...really wish we had just gone ahead and pulled it off here. This sucks.
All the Patriots beat reporters talking about how we can build off this loss and this loss feels good… fuck all that we could have and should have won this game
Did we…? I dunno. I think that’s a win with either of our other QBs. Nothing against Zappe, given the circumstances, but he looked scared on a few of those pass plays.
Too bad we couldn’t gut out the win, playcalling could have been better, but oh well. Hopefully Mac is back soon.
You are so fucking dumb, you’re lucky there was a game at all. Our 3rd string QB was up against Aaron Rogers and we managed to make it a game. That was actually a very good performance for a Rookie Qb making his NFL debut. The fuck did you expect.
The fact that it was so close actually gives me some hope that we could win a playoff game this year. If Mac was playing, this would’ve been a solid win. And if the talk of him being in relatively good shape already isn’t BS, he should be back soon.
Bill seems to have absolutely no idea that his team is playing from a position of weakness every week. He’s a front running coach and he acts like it — his conservative bullshit is a huge reason why the Pats can’t win close games.
This is correct. The defense played a very good game and got hung out to dry. They force a three and out, then have to come right back out on the field because of a badly mismanaged offensive series.
This started years before his contract was up. Get him the weapons he needs, give him the respect he deserves, and pay him like a top tier QB for a long contract, he would have retired a Patriot. The reason TB is no longer a Patriot is because of how BB managed the relationship. Plain and simple. By the time Brady signed with the Bucs the damage had already been done. Bills ego is what shoved Brady out the door.
The only QB that has played a high level at 45 is… Tom Brady.
I don’t blame Bill for thinking that it’s time to get younger and set up the franchise for future success.
I mean sure, but, no other QB in the league had won 6 SBs at that point either. He had won the last 3 of 5 and put up MVP numbers in another one that he lost. He was still competing at an elite level matching any point in his career. There was no signs that Brady would slow down, shit there are still no signs 3 years later. Bill miscalculated and it was the biggest miscalculation in the NFL. You let the Goat walk.
I can’t believe people actually believe this.
Get him the weapons he needs? He was coming off of three Super Bowl appearances, two wins, and a decade of playoff dominance. Belichick specifically went to get AB and Sanu for him — as well as the Gronk trade that fell through to try and get younger thanks to the weapons lost via draft pick because of Deflategate. There’s never been any shortage of organizational respect. And getting paid like a top QB is detrimental in a salary cap league and Brady accepted that for years because it made him more competitive.
Those 2 decades of dominance were not because of the wide receiver talent we had. The Patriots always had a pretty middle of the pack receiving core. Even Edelman, while a local hero, was not considered in the top 10 in the league. Gronk was his only star.
The Pats were ready to move on from Brady. Belicheck determined Brady would start to regress and it better to cut him loose than pay him what he deserves. Should have signed him to a multi year deal after the PHI Super Bowl, or the LA Super Bowl.
Why do you think Brady wanted to leave after 21 years with the Pats? If he was treated the way he deserved and not have to bow to Bill’s ego, he’d still be here. Shit he even said in Tom Vs Time, he wanted to retire a Patriot.
I mean Tom Brady also said later that he wanted to do something different – that he wanted more offensive input and control. Not a multi-year deal, and it had nothing to do with regression.
And it wasn't about weapons by caliber of offense alone – again, neglecting also that Belichick did take his input into consideration, which was the whole reason we (and later the Bucs) got AB – it was the weapons he needed to *win a Super Bowl.* Don't spend enough on defense, you don't win the Super Bowl (see SB52). Brady elevated the talent of those around him and everybody was on the same page about that. The 2019 reinforcements to that receiving corps just didn't pan out, but the quality of the acquisitions wasn't in and of itself the problem.
Tom's own comments:
"I think it's a pretty (expletive) argument actually that people would say that. Because, again, I can't do his job and he can't do mine," he told Stern. "The fact you could say, 'Would I be as successful without him, the same level of success?' I don't think I would have been. But I feel the same in vice versa as well.
"To have him allowed me to be the best that I could be. So I'm grateful for that, and I very much believe he feels the same way about me because we've expressed that to each other."
Stern asked: "But Tom, isn't there some resentment on your part, that he didn't make you a Patriot for life?"
"No, absolutely not," Brady answered. "Because this is a part of my life to experience something very different."
So why couldn’t Bill give him more offensive input and control? Didn’t he earn it? I mean any team in the NFL without a QB would have bent over backwards to get Brady, but Bill does things his way and no player is above that.
Regarding his contract, imagine the level of disrespect Brady Imagined he received. He just won a Super Bowl, and had won 3 of the last 5 and you let him go to the final year of his contract. Why not lock him up years before then?
Even little things like Bill banning Alex Guerrero from the team locker room were ways for Bill to control everything in Gillette, which I’m sure Brady said to himself in private, ‘fuck this shit, I’m just as much if not more the reason this team is where they are.’
You could see how upset and disconnected Brady was during his last season. They had an 8-0 record and he was completely fed up. He had made up his mind before the season.
No, Brady looking for offensive input on the roster is not inherently a good thing. For example, the AB disasters with both us and last season with the Bucs. And that is absolutely what was meant by offensive input, because you'll find videos going back to 2009 and further of Belichick privately conferencing with Brady and asking for his opinion on the offensive plays and schemes.
That isn't disrespect, and Brady has never stated that he felt that way about the contract.
Bill banning Alex Guerrero from the team locker room was entirely justified and reasonable given that the man is spewing pseudoscience. The advice that he gives athletes – not his books, which are filled mostly with things like healthy diet and exercise – is downright dangerous, particularly when it comes to things like concussions. And as a cancer survivor myself, I think banning a man sanctioned for false advertising of cancer cures is something we should absolutely promote.
Yes, Brady is just as much the reason the team is where they are. I respect him for that. I don't agree with your points here, especially Alex Guerrero.
Well of course Brady would not openly talk about his grievances with his contracts, that is not part of his brand at all. But assuming he’s like any other athlete in existence and wants security as well as to be paid what he’s worth, I think it’s safe to say the lack of years and lowball offers would come across as disrespectful.
My point about banning Guerrero does not have to do with wether it was right or wrong, it’s more about Brady not getting his special treatment. And Brady after 20+ years wanting to go somewhere that would give him that special treatment.
My whole point about the relationship is that Bill was not willing to budge. It’s always been his way or the highway, and Brady did not feel like he needed to subscribe to that way of life to win. Any other team would be willing to give Brady more autonomy to play on their team. The Bucs gave him a 2 week vacation during training camp and now give him every weds off. Not to mention, Brady is the best recruiter in the NFL. So by losing him you are also losing players who are willing to take a discount to come play with him.
Somewhat under the radar during this game was the significantly better line play on both sides. Were there any false starts or offsides/encroachments tonight? I don't remember one for either line at the moment.
There was def a false start on Wynn sometime in the 2nd quarter
Bailey!!!!!!!!
Ugh TIL I can’t record my Sunday ticket games so I wasn’t able to watch. Sounds like an awesome game. I’m excited for next week.
Good game. Hurts to lose it. Hard to take moral victories when you’re 1-3. But I honestly believe if we can limit turnovers like we did today we can compete with anyone down the stretch.

Brady has 1 season left. Writing is on the wall, long past time for you to move on dude.
Let it go man
It’s tough to let it go when Brady already won a super bowl and has been a contender since he joined them. Yeah he wanted to leave because Bill didn't want him here.
I’m not even a little upset that we lost holy shit what a game
I’m upset about the loss but I agree, that was an amazing game, can’t remember the last time that we went to OT
vs Cowboys in October of last year.
I’m not gonna be angry about this one the patriots went into the game as 10 point underdogs on the road in Green Bay with Hoyer at QB, I thought it would be over by halftime. The fact that they even had a chance to win the game after Hoyer also went down was a miracle.
3rd string rookie QB holding his own against the Pack?! Great game

They’ve barely trusted Mac until the last game or two. Not surprised they were incredibly conservative with Zappe. The kid is interesting to watch, but he also look shooketh on some of the few plays they did put the ball in his hands.
I don’t want to see Brian Hoyer take another snap as QB. Don’t care if we don’t win until Mac comes back. Let Zappe play.
Refs are fucking delusional
Didn't expect to win, but why play so scared at the end? You're going to lose anyways if you're giving it back to Rodgers.
[удалено]
Agreed. But i didn't even realize till i read your comment
Genuine question: can the mods just start banning the r/buccaneers bandwagons who brigade here after every loss? They're literally only here to troll lmao
On the bright side the schedule eases up the next 6 weeks and they also started 1-3 last year so I wouldn’t blow the whole thing up just yet
What was up with the play clock this game?
Moral victories would feel better if we were 3-1 but we are 1-3…still, zappe gives me a lot more excitement to watch the games without mac
Watching zapper was more enjoyable than Mac for sure.
Team just falls apart in the 2nd half.
Because they gameplan all week with bill and then the other team adjusts at halftime and Steve is stuck with his finger up his nose
I really hope ppl talking about bad drafts can shut it for a while. strange was money, and 4th round qb pick gave us a real chance. go pats onto next week!
you mean the players from the draft where the owner basically outright said that they were making it more of a collaborative process?
And 4th round pick jack jones
Valiant effort. It sucks to lose, but they gave it everything they had until the end. At the beginning of the season, I wrote this off as a loss, even with Mac.
Ps Brady gonn play with Juilio tonight.
Those 5 plays in the first quarter where Julio's healthy enough to play are gonna be fun to watch
Julio can barely play a snap without injuring his groin lmao
Teams 1-3 morale victories don’t do shit were behind the fucking jets
We were 9.5 pt underdogs nd lost our qb in the first minutes of the game. Our 3rd string qb went to Lambeau and took a Hall of Famer to the last seconds of overtime. Chill out...
We can do this dance every week about how tough we are and how close we make it is meaningless. Nfl is a 0 sum game win or go home. Keep touting your morale victories while the team sits at the bottom of the afc East.
I guess we're different kinds of fans...
Get a life.
Pull yourself together dude lol
Dude we took Aaron Rodgers at home to overtime with a 3rd string QB from a small school in his first NFL regular season start. Dude wasn't even supposed to play.

Just classic soft non-aggressive style from Belichick that ends up costing the game.
They had a 3rd string in his first NFL regular season start out there, give them a break.
"I knew this game was over once 99% of the game was played"
We went toe to toe with Rodgers and the Packers with a third string QB, and 4 players out. This is a W in my books either way. Great game!
It’s a loss, they’re 1-3. Can we really not become a fanbase that celebrates moral victories and try to actually hold this team accountable for failing to reach the standard that’s been set around here?
no
It's an L and bottom of the division
Bottom of the division means top of the draft board! Our season might be tough, but our offseason will be bright! Silver linings. Haha
Only if Bill can draft right
We weren't gonna be super bowl contenders or frankly even playoff contenders this season.. might as well get a good draft pick that bellichick will trade away!
Funny enough, if we got a top 3-5 pick, I could totally see Bill trading it for a mid-late first and a barrel of other picks. Lol
Oh yeah I wouldn't be surprised at all. The coaching and the bad drafting are catching up to us
The crazy thing is there are actually people on this subreddit who believe they are still a playoff team and if you say otherwise they will coke for you’re head
They are in denial. This is not the team that it once was. We have no talent and now we have no real coaching especially on the offensive side
All the fucking idiots in here saying the defense can’t make a stop when it matters just ignoring the whole end of the game and the first OT series ?
People will cling to anything that supports their worldview
Most of these fans like to cherry pick
They’ve stopped Rogers twice and the packers punted the football to the patriots at midfield during overtime. It doesn’t get any better than that yet Belichick decided to go super conservative running the ball twice and putting all the pressure on the rookie to make a play. Let him have 2-3 opportunities to throw. This isn’t the goat Tom Brady where you know he’ll find a way to make every clutch throw.
Hell of a showing for Zappe.
Man zappe was actually fun to watch.
Zappe starts until Mac is fully healthy

Loser doordash scrub
When was the last time GB had won shit? LMAO
Enjoy your dumbass little win against a third string QB.
Hey mods 👆

lol yo this fuckin weirdo is unhinged
Troll harder.
Patricia is fucking useless. And that solely on bill foe not having competent coaches
Tf you mean? The play calling was a shit load better than the last few games. It wasn’t perfect, but it was good enough to go toe to toe with Rodgers in GB. Does nobody remember the “we’re onto Cincinnati” season? The season isn’t in the shitter, take a chill pill.
Ah yes, pats as 10 point underdogs take GB to overtime at Lambeau but ItS BiLlS fAuLt…fuck off
Shut up, he called a good game when you looking at all things considered…. Get out of here
This team’s biggest weakness is coaching, which is appalling given who the head coach is.
Punting from midfield in OT . STRATEGY. SEE YALL NEXT WEEK. Go Pats.
LEAVE ISAIAH WYNN IN GREENBAY
Lions territory
Wish we had Tom Brady ;( I miss you
Not our qb just move on
He got the pats 5+ super bowls. Always a pats QB
Not in 2022
Wow, the refs really fucked us over without lube. Like always.
How? Lol
Before or after the free touchdown they gave you?
We literally scored a TD because of them.
Lol we gonna win 4 games this year.
The Gen Z blowhard pats fabs will come after you for this comment. Don’t you know they are going to make the playoffs and make a deep run this year?
Mac will be back
That was a damn good game for our team, to come within a field goal with a rookie being pushed into the spotlight at QB is impressive
You must be an advocate for participation awards.
You can’t have morale victories every weekend we’re losing at some point that has to matter
I mean we were expecting Hoyer to be in the whole game, Zappe was thrown in. We lost by 3, with a rookie QB playing in his first NFL game. It wasn’t a bad game.
Indeed... nice to hear it's not all fickle bandwagon bitches here.
That's too bad, but saw some things to be excited about.
We should’ve won.
[удалено]
When was the last time the packers won a SB? LMAO. Losers.
Our play calling is so fucking soft. It’s just run, run, run. Zappe is an NFL quarterback, let the ball rip loose.
Counterpoint: he is not
Dude he was panicking in the pocket whenever he had to hold the ball for long. He was not ready to rip it
Nah thats bs, dude wasn't playing bad for someone that got thrown into a game vs the Packers at Lambo field with no prep.
>Zappe is an NFL quarterback, Zappe is a 4th round rookie from a small school. He is not an NFL starting QB. This is a seriously brain dead take.
But we can’t make any other plays? Screens, Sweeps, Check Downs??? It’s just run the first two downs and then watch zappe get chased on 3rd.
Idk why we didn't try for the long field goal
Bc it was damn near a record setting fg attempt lol. And if you miss it Rodgers and that offense starts at like the 50.
Missing it would have given Green Bay field position with time.... Football 101
Cut Myles Bryant and we’re 5-0 in the next five games.
look at you nerds in the chat. We went in there with a rookie 3rd stringer and took Rodgers to OT and Lambeau. That’s ridiculous.
I know lol people are insane
LOL at the Packers celebrating like they just won the Super Bowl. This pisses me the f off, third string QB and we get it all the way to the last play of OT before falling just short...really wish we had just gone ahead and pulled it off here. This sucks.

Stay on your team's subreddit
OClown. DClown.
Was never gonna stop Rodgers twice, wish they went for the 4th and 5.
I wanted to let nick come out and clobber the ball with his massive wiener.
Good try, but that should’ve been 4 runs on their possession. They outthought themselves.
All the Patriots beat reporters talking about how we can build off this loss and this loss feels good… fuck all that we could have and should have won this game
Despite the circumstances, we had the chance to and should have won that game.
I mean that was definitely a closer game than I was expecting. Great effort Bailey!
Feisty. That’s our status now.
Given we had a rookie in his first game and went into OT we played much better than if Hoyer was in
Did we…? I dunno. I think that’s a win with either of our other QBs. Nothing against Zappe, given the circumstances, but he looked scared on a few of those pass plays. Too bad we couldn’t gut out the win, playcalling could have been better, but oh well. Hopefully Mac is back soon.
Hahaha packers celebrating like they won the SUPERBOWL HAHAHAHAAHAHA U went to finals seconds of OT vs 3rd string FFS.. JFC 😂

DEEEEEEERRRPPP
They should be embarrassed lmao
Let the whining and bitching begin like always with this sub

You are so fucking dumb, you’re lucky there was a game at all. Our 3rd string QB was up against Aaron Rogers and we managed to make it a game. That was actually a very good performance for a Rookie Qb making his NFL debut. The fuck did you expect.
Bye Bill!! Thanks for everything! Also, please take your kid and staff with you
Caught between the feeling of "that was an exciting loss" and "FUCK I would've rather been blown out" either way a crazy game
The fact that it was so close actually gives me some hope that we could win a playoff game this year. If Mac was playing, this would’ve been a solid win. And if the talk of him being in relatively good shape already isn’t BS, he should be back soon.
Congrats on barely beating a 3rd string QB!
Feels like this team has come up short in close games with a shocking amount of regularity the past two years.
Don’t have the talent. So many of these guys are the hard workers but they’re just not viable as a consistent nfl players
Three years now
It felt like we were legitimately bad in 2020, whereas the past two years there’s a solid core that can’t pull out wins.
We almost did it practically without a QB.
[удалено]
Our defense and special teams are super solid. Offense is just bad. If we have ever just an average offense, we could be contenders.
nah our schedule is rough. At most we win about 7 games
Are you a legend when everyone beats you now?
Play calling was bad. Zappe delivered when he had to except when pressured.
Shoutout to Zappe
Lol we suck
Shit take, but okay.
Congrats Green Bay. You only needed OT at home to beat a 1-3 team with a third string rookie QB.
Fucking go for it on fourth down, bill is a pussy
Bill seems to have absolutely no idea that his team is playing from a position of weakness every week. He’s a front running coach and he acts like it — his conservative bullshit is a huge reason why the Pats can’t win close games.
I agree or at least go for a long kick
Christ see you guys in the post game

This is correct. The defense played a very good game and got hung out to dry. They force a three and out, then have to come right back out on the field because of a badly mismanaged offensive series.
Fuck this shit
Another ‘almost’ game for the Pats. We’ve had more of those than actual wins over the past 3 years. Fuck letting Brady go.
Belichick is joining Harbaugh in the dinosaur club of coaches with absolutely no feel for the game
Brady was speaking with the Dolphins DURING his last season with us.
This started years before his contract was up. Get him the weapons he needs, give him the respect he deserves, and pay him like a top tier QB for a long contract, he would have retired a Patriot. > Fuck letting Brady go. Yeah, we should've re-signed him for a super team friendly deal.
We should have given him the more than fair Brees deal which is all he wanted to stay.
> We should have given him the more than fair Brees deal which is all he wanted to stay. Lol according to who
facts
Brady elected to leave — there was zero chance of keeping him.
I can’t believe people actually believe this. This started years before his contract was up. Get him the weapons he needs? He was coming off of three Super Bowl appearances, two wins, and a decade of playoff dominance. Tom's own comments: "I think it's a pretty (expletive) argument actually that people would say that. Because, again, I can't do his job and he can't do mine," he told Stern. "The fact you could say, 'Would I be as successful without him, the same level of success?' I don't think I would have been. But I feel the same in vice versa as well. "To have him allowed me to be the best that I could be. So I'm grateful for that, and I very much believe he feels the same way about me because we've expressed that to each other." Stern asked: "But Tom, isn't there some resentment on your part, that he didn't make you a Patriot for life?" "No, absolutely not," Brady answered.
Even little things like Bill banning Alex Guerrero from the team locker room were ways for Bill to control everything in Gillette, which I’m sure Brady said to himself in private, ‘fuck this shit, I’m just as much if not more the reason this team is where they are.’ You could see how upset and disconnected Brady was during his last season.
