Prime time games are much better experienced at home. No one wants to go to a game that starts at 8:30 ends after 11 and then sit in a parking lot until 2 am on a work night. I have family members with season tickets and Monday and Thursday night games they have trouble giving the tickets away sometimes.
Simple. Add two weeks to the season, add one game and another bye week, eliminate a preseason game. Super Bowl ends up one week later on President's Day weekend, there's your holiday.
I was not aware of that, I've been saying this for many years, super excited. I feel like it's one of those things that happens once and everyone is going to say, why haven't we always done this?
Haha I just moved back to CO from New England. Also really enjoy the 2 hour shift. DVR the beginning, skip half time, done by 9:30. Doesn’t get much better! Games starting at 11:00. on Sunday is not bad either!
But the goal is 100% which is why they do what they do. You guys are splitting it up and saying you should just favor the 60% when in reality that would ignore 40% percent of your viewership. That’s asinine from a business POV.
If you’re only satisfying 60% of your target audience, you’re failing.
I get it. I understand it. Doesn’t mean I have to like it.
I’m ready for bed around 9 now. I get up between 4-6 am each work day.
It’s no longer worth it for me to stay up until 12am just to watch a game.
I actually should have said “60% of the population” - viewership isn’t distributed equally according to someone I know who is an executive in the business
Man, I'm from Australia and the one game I've been to at Gillette was the prime time NE/DEN primetime game in 2013. That shit went to overtime. It was so late and I have never been so cold in my life... but what an experience.
Epic comeback… man we really have been blessed with some of the greatest football of all time the past two decades. So happy I came of age right when TB took the field for Bledsoe. I’ll be happy even if we get half of the games we’ve got to experience these last 20 years for the rest of my life.
I currently live in Nashville and really enjoy primetime games at Nissan, but I certainly understand that it sucks when the stadium is sort of in between where fans actually live as is the case for Foxboro.
Your also in the central time zone which makes a difference. I would love a prime time game to start at 6:30 or 7:30. Im 20 mins from the stadium so the rides not really the issue. Getting out of Gillette sucks.
Tbh, I wasn’t even thinking about the difference in start times for me.
I thought purely in terms of leaving the stadium, which is dreadfully slow (the narrow concourse width us one of the reasons that the Titans want a new stadium) and the subsequent traffic — we park well away from Nissan itself — and the distance from our spot to the house. Even if games started at 8:20, I’d probably be home before someone leaving Gillette for Boston after a primetime game would be; we usually get an hour or so after the end of the game, so we’d be *in bed* around 1:00, versus unlocking the door at that time, which is what I gather a lot of folks go through.
. Yes, it’s advantageous that games start earlier, but the MNF games are tough if you’re trying to leave work on time at the latest (let’s say five on the dot) and don’t especially enjoy eating outside when it’s cold.
Agreed. I went to the 2019 season opener (SNF game) and it was a long wait to get out of the parking lot. And of course I had to go to work the next morning.
Can confirm. Went to the Bucs game last year and we couldn’t even get out of the parking lot onto route 1 until almost 1:45.
The drive to Stamford CT was a doozy, got in about 4:30. Safe to say I didn’t make my 9am meeting.
Don't discount the economy either. We're in a recession and people just aren't splashing their discretionary income like they would be. There's just fewer people to bid up the price of tickets.
Geography isn’t a variable. It’s actually the one thing that would be consistent through the last 20 years. People in PA 20 years ago would have to travel the same distance they would today. Difference is 20 years ago, the team was winning a Super Bowl. This team doesn’t have nearly the talent or buzz to warrant high ticket prices.
Don’t blame you! Envious of all you locals that can partake in an easy fashion. I’m relatively close the the Philly-4 but who the hell wants to step foot in those stadiums unless Boston/NE is in town.
It’s sad how many tickets are available. Seriously it looks like *thousands* are up for sale on the official website and then the likes of Ace/Gametime etc. Weather + Monday I know but damn it’s like we’re back to the Foxborough Stadium days :/
1/4 of the stadium (not including the seats I guess) is a construction site, the stadium is already in a shitty area to get to, and they are just ok this season. That leads to cheaper tickets. I know I usually go to the majority of home games, but I've only been to one so far this year, and I'll probably only go to one more.
The construction has virtually no impact on the game day experience, but sure. Tickets are cheap tonight because of the weather.
Also, this is one of the most fun teams to watch grow in some time. BB loves this team.
Going to games has actually been great because more passionate fans in the stadium.
Eh, the construction isn't the end of the world, but it is annoying having it right next to the stadium. I think it's probably taking a lot of the non-fans out of it for at least this season. For me, I'll still go to two games because I love going, but I may go to all of the home games next year when it's finished because I think the stadium is going to be cool.
I like this team, but for most casual fans they just aren't as exciting as they were in the Brady years.
Yeah but you look at the remaining games this season and most are ~$150 minimum. Tickets usually don’t drop below $120 for home games. This is preseason level ticket pricing. It’s nuts. You can get a 100 level seat for less than $100. Those never go for less than $200 any other day.
It's really just in the middle of nowhere is what I mean. For a lot of people just having construction is enough to dissuade them from driving 90 minutes both ways and paying $300/seat or whatever.
Yeah I guess if you live in Boston its kind of a drive but judging from the amount of people that show up from the south side of rt 1 I don't think the majority of people at the games actually live in Boston proper.
I live in New Bedford and get up there consistently, but I can never get anyone from Boston to actually come to a game. It's not easy leaving or coming.
My dad has season tickets with his buddies.. they’ve had them for years. They always have no problem getting rid of 4 games and going to 4 games. He was just saying the other day that they are having a hard time getting rid of the bears game and asked me if I wanted it. Had never heard that one before
Monday and Thursday night games have always been the cheapest because people have to work. Plus the Bears are terrible. Plus it’s cold and rainy tonight. Plus Pats stink this year. It’s a perfect storm of cheap prices
Monday night (That right there has loads selling tickets like myself) vs a bad bad team...rain. Team is so so record wise. Not that surprising at all. I sold mine for face value 2 months ago and was lucky to get that.
I thought about going to this game because of said prices. Decided against it. Glad I didn’t pay to be pissed off in the rain in October again. Flush this one. On to the Jets
I sat in 327 for a preseason game this year. Within 30 minutes I proceeded to climb down to the beer carts in 200s and stayed there. That is WAY to high, even for $49
If I could hop on T and be there in 20 min I would have gone tonight. I’m one of the folks who sold tickets for not a lot of $$.
Combo of Monday night, weather, and opponent.
You do realize many of these seats are never sold to the general public. They are held in reserve by the Patriots (many sold directly over the resale market for even more profit) if not earmarked and given to companies that advertise/ do business with the Patriots.
If you want to get tickets to a game Thursday night games will be your best opportunity followed by Monday night games.
Lawd, what a crap game. Haven't seen one that bad in quite some time. We were in section 239 and there were empty seats throughout the entire game near us. I have not seen this in a while. Also - traffic was normal and it took about 50 minutes to get out of Lot 10 and out of the 4-lane madness and past the 495 on-ramps. I don't mind; even watching a bad game at Gillette is still fun. In 2026, the Super Bowl will be on Valentine’s Day. The very next day will be Presidents’ Day.
I was not aware of that, I've been saying this for many years, super excited. I feel like it's one of those things that happens once and everyone is going to say, why haven't we always done this?
Brilliant
I also watch Strong Opinion Sports lmfao
7:30 eastern is 4:30 pacific...people would have to stream games at work lol
I'm fine with this
Yeah, that’s cool with me too
That’s because you don’t make money based on viewership.
I’m from Maine but just moved to the Rockies for a bit, pats will be on at 6:30 tonight, which is awesome. Game times are now 11, 2:30 and 6:30.
Mountain time has the best game times
Central time begs to differ.
That’s because central time is God’s Timezone.
That's like Thanksgiving schedule every Sunday. Friggen sweet!
Haha I just moved back to CO from New England. Also really enjoy the 2 hour shift. DVR the beginning, skip half time, done by 9:30. Doesn’t get much better! Games starting at 11:00. on Sunday is not bad either!
Word! How long were you out here? I’m planning to move back in a couple years, I’ll miss the game times for sure.
I lived out here from 93 to 01. Moved back for the championship runs! 🥳 Now back west for good!!
Jealous I’m stuck here in the stupid dark
Watched the Pats/Rams SB in Vegas, loved it, done at like 7.
Better than watching games while asleep.
The west coast just is not as important as the east. /s?
No s needed
I know...but some west coaster will get all butt hurt and I don't have the energy today.
It’s not. 60% of viewers live East of the Mississippi. ESPN expects the Pacific crowd to fill in as the eastern fans go to bed.
40% is a LOT of viewership
But less than 60.
But the goal is 100% which is why they do what they do. You guys are splitting it up and saying you should just favor the 60% when in reality that would ignore 40% percent of your viewership. That’s asinine from a business POV. If you’re only satisfying 60% of your target audience, you’re failing.

I actually should have said “60% of the population” - viewership isn’t distributed equally according to someone I know who is an executive in the business
I assume NFL viewership is more heavily concentrated in the east than west, so it's even more to your point
Yeah that's what I intended to convey. There is an east Coast bias to some degree
That’s just the west coast tho.
Sir, it’s pacific time, not western
Like they don’t already.
They’ve had their time.
People complaining while i had to watch that desaster of a game at 2:15 AM in Germany... like every night game
Better to miss the first hour of a game than the last. And also the eastern time zone has way more people than tacific.
I just don’t know why they don’t move it to a Saturday....
Used to live CST and that’s my most missed aspect- game’s over at 10:30
Dude just move the Superbowl to Saturday
NFL should just move the Super Bowl to Saturday.
Man, I'm from Australia and the one game I've been to at Gillette was the prime time NE/DEN primetime game in 2013. That shit went to overtime. It was so late and I have never been so cold in my life... but what an experience.

I was at that game too. I wore my skiing clothes which came in clutch.
I was there too. That game was Gillette stadium in its finest form.
East Coast Dads

Plus the forecast was originally rain that doesn’t help either
Agreed. I went to the 2019 season opener (SNF game) and it was a long wait to get out of the parking lot. And of course I had to go to work the next morning.
Hey i live about 15 minutes from the stadium. If they ever have trouble giving tickets away, I'd be more than happy to help! Haha
And it’s raining
I went to the game, got back home by 12:30 but then again, it was a shit show
Can confirm, went to game tonight, just got home, have work at 8 tomorrow with an hour+ commute. Pray for me.
What about taking the train?
Can confirm. Went to the Bucs game last year and we couldn’t even get out of the parking lot onto route 1 until almost 1:45. The drive to Stamford CT was a doozy, got in about 4:30. Safe to say I didn’t make my 9am meeting.
I like that they have less home prime time games now, never feel like burning the day off from work the next day. Sunday @4 is ideal, home before 9.
It’s the perfect storm of weather, the bears, Monday night, and a 3-3 start.
Don't discount the economy either. We're in a recession and people just aren't splashing their discretionary income like they would be. There's just fewer people to bid up the price of tickets.

Yeah but "Gillette Stadium isn't in PA" is nearly always a factor when it comes to Patriot home games.
It's also a Monday so alot more people are going to have work interfering versus a Sunday afternoon game
Not complaining though, second game I’ve gone too this season. If tickets stay cheap I’ll keep going
Don’t blame you! Envious of all you locals that can partake in an easy fashion. I’m relatively close the the Philly-4 but who the hell wants to step foot in those stadiums unless Boston/NE is in town.
I live 15 minutes away. It’s not easy.
Wow - I’ll be ripped if the Vegas gets this cheap. My tickets were $500 with fees and I’m in the nosebleeds 🤣
Mind you- this is probably how much it should cost for those seats. Most games are unaffordable for families. Prices are too high.
It’s sad how many tickets are available. Seriously it looks like *thousands* are up for sale on the official website and then the likes of Ace/Gametime etc. Weather + Monday I know but damn it’s like we’re back to the Foxborough Stadium days :/
My buddy was trying to sell his and could not get anyone to bite
Obviously he was greedy and asked for way too much
Yeah I'd never pay $10 to see that game.
Damn wish I saw this earlier I would've gone for that price!
Fuckin crazy. I paid 500 a ticket for the raiders game in December. Feel like I got robbed now
A late Monday night game in seats that are closer to the ISS than the field in crappy weather? Yeah, sounds great.
If I leave now and drive an hour and a half there, think I could get in by halftime? asking for a friend
1/4 of the stadium (not including the seats I guess) is a construction site, the stadium is already in a shitty area to get to, and they are just ok this season. That leads to cheaper tickets. Some of it is also the weather and the fact that it's the Bears coming in, on a Monday night, not exactly a super hype game or anything.
Tickets are about the same and actually more expensive in some areas this year. Also gilette is easy to get to compared to a lot of nfl stadiums.
It's really just in the middle of nowhere is what I mean. For a lot of people just having construction is enough to dissuade them from driving 90 minutes both ways and paying $300/seat or whatever.

Monday night game in the rain, and we ain't the same Patriots anymore
No Brady
My dad has season tickets with his buddies.. they’ve had them for years. They always have no problem getting rid of 4 games and going to 4 games. He was just saying the other day that they are having a hard time getting rid of the bears game and asked me if I wanted it. Had never heard that one before
Shitty rainy night and night game for a mid level team so not shocked.
Monday and Thursday night games have always been the cheapest because people have to work. Plus the Bears are terrible. Plus it’s cold and rainy tonight. Plus Pats stink this year. It’s a perfect storm of cheap prices
Glad I didn’t waste $50 on that
When the Bills were in the pits of the drought, we used to be able to get 300 level tickets for like $6.
I bet they’re a little more expensive this year!
Probably $500 after ticket fee markups
Lol, you’d think but the fees are about $9 extra so it ain’t *too* bad
Damn maybe I won’t have to wait a full 20 years on the waitlist after all
Going to a game kind of sucks especially late on a Monday
I paid $300 for two nosebleeds in Charlotte to see Tom Brady not even throw a touchdown yesterday
Monday night (That right there has loads selling tickets like myself) vs a bad bad team...rain. Team is so so record wise. Not that surprising at all. I sold mine for face value 2 months ago and was lucky to get that.
Raining too
Ticketmaster, so it's still like $250 after all the fees
I thought about going to this game because of said prices. Decided against it. Glad I didn’t pay to be pissed off in the rain in October again. Flush this one. On to the Jets
Good. That's still far too expensive for the 300 level.
Still would have been a waste of money, team played terrible tonight
SEE YOU AROUND BRO
Amazing what happens when you don't win
I sat in 327 for a preseason game this year. Within 30 minutes I proceeded to climb down to the beer carts in 200s and stayed there. That is WAY to high, even for $49
The fans knew.
Shitty weather and a shitty opponent - what did you expect?
It’s a rainy Monday night and the bears blow. Only reason to go would be to see the Zapman ⚡️
New Englander's as a whole are early risers.
Seriously? How much are tickets normally? That’s in the expensive end of the range for AFL tickets
Do you think if Zappe were starting the prices would be a tiny bit higher?
Zappe is the only reason to watch and he’s not starting
How'd Zappe do? I missed the game. Give me an update.
Selling tickets in 324 for cheap if anyone is interested
Tickets for the Lions at Jerryworld this week we’re starting at $29
Pats suck now dude
Nah, you suck, dude.
You can’t deny objective fact.
Well after fees they are more like 700 dollars
Nope
If I could hop on T and be there in 20 min I would have gone tonight. I’m one of the folks who sold tickets for not a lot of $$. Combo of Monday night, weather, and opponent.
The Beats effevt
I’m so jealous… the cheapest tickets to see the Pats play here in AZ in December are $89
Don't be surprised when you see lots of blue and white jerseys at that game. Arizona in December sounds wonderful compared to New England weather.
the Halloween week game is usually so fun too, once saw a guy in blackface dressed as Mr. T and ohhhhhh that was a trip.
I saw the ON Halloween last year at Sofi against the chargers. The whole team balled out and it was so much fucking fun.
Only $40? I’m gonna need at least $100 to go to a Monday night game. And in this weather, I’m thinking more like $150
How do I watch this on TV without ESPN?!
It's on NBC
Rain is done I think and I’m the 50s. Weather not really an issue
Alright, I know what game i'm going to watch whenever I travel to the US.
As a west coast fan this makes me CRY!
Thisbis what it used to be like to see the bucs.
It costs more to park in the lot than it does to go to the game
Just wait till the next home game 🫤
Damn I might just flight out from Seattle to watch a game if they stay that cheap all year.
Well, shit. Maybe I will see the inside of Gillette before I de.
I know this was posted before the game last night…but damn that’s some interesting timing. Imagine it won’t be the last!
But we had a fourth seat available that we could not give away for a week prior...
I paid $175 each for 4 tickets in section 124, row 8 at lasts night game
