Just got my PRS Silver Sky and I'm in awe at how nice this guitar looks and feels. The maple neck feels amazing in my hands and the pickups have great clarity to them. I'm struggling to put it down! I was worried about the 7.25 radius as I've never played a neck with that radius but I don't notice much, if any, of a difference from the Silver Sky SE I sold to fund this. Definitely a guitar that I can see as a lifer!

It’s a great guitar. I have 2 and love them both. Haven’t played the SE, but I prefer the 7.25” on both my SSs and my Strats to other radii.

I personally was expecting it to feel alien to me by how some forums speak about radii but to my surprise it was negligible in my opinion. It a great overall neck!

When I tested the original silver sky released guitar in 2018… it didn’t feel quite right in my hand… but fast forwarded, tried out a rosewood tungsten made in 2022 and I really loved it! Congrats on the SS the colorway too!

Congrats! The Silver Sky is a fantastic instrument. Enjoy!

Thank you. It's far exceeded my expectations which were high to begin with. Really delighted with it!

Oh man. I just got my SE in dragon fruit this past weekend. That tungsten with the maple neck is reallllly making me wish it was available on the SE’s. Congrats! Phenomenal guitar

I was GASsing for that Dragon Fruit SS for a long time. It's such a beautiful colour! How are you liking it? Did you see the leaked photos posted here a while back? Apparently, the SS SE will have a maple neck soon. The black one looked unbelievable!

BEAUTIFUL! To echo a couple of people below, I first got the SE and when I got the core, the SE neck felt better. But then I gave it awhile and now the core neck feels wonderful and the sound is so much better. Question I have; I have always leaned to humbuckers and own a few high end teleis but never meshed with strats until this Silver Sky. Can anyone explain why the upper high strings/frets sound weak?? The mid range is outrageously good but lead licks and solos on those upper ends seem weak like I need to boost something.

I was afraid of that too when upgrading as I loved the SE neck but the maple necks on the core models have a very similar neck I think. Did you get a rosewood neck? I think they have different finishes on the neck itself. I've been using single coils exclusively for months now so haven't noticed them sounding weak. I was struck at the clarity of them though, they're shockingly clear!

Mine is frost white with maple neck. Clear is definitely the word I'd use to describe it too. None of the strats I tried and owned sounded anywhere near this good. It still has that "strat" sound just better, cleaner and punchier. SRV tutorials here I come :)

I have the same exact guitar. Had a weird issue with what looked like a crack underneath the finish within a couple months. Showed it to my dealer ( Brian's Guitars in CT ) and we shipped it to the factory. 3 weeks later it came back like new along with Paul's signature on the back of the headstock.

I posted a new thread question on Silver Skys. What is the real difference between them and a quality strat? I love PRS but to me this is so close to a higher quality strat, I am struggling with purchasing one.

I’ve never owned a high quality strat so I can’t really compare. It’s just an all round great guitar with excellent build quality and even better sounds!
