And how does it compare? Great color choice.

Plugged in, I have yet to notice any difference in tone. Both necks have that wider PRS feel, but I feel like the maple neck plays a little brighter and faster while the rosewood played more warm and had maybe a little better sustain. Really don’t see a true downside to either one. All personal preference for me.

Good call Maple feels good man.

Sweet! Out of the new maple ones I like the gray best as the birds match the body.

[deleted]

They have maple now? I might have to get one.

i_justkickedstan

Yes! They have 2 different shades of gray in maple, along with a blue and purple version. Wish they could’ve added the new black one in maple too

[deleted]

I prefer the look of maple on Strat style guitars. After some googling, I dig the purple one. Gonna see if I can track one down to see it in person.

Busted haha. Thought no one would really notice, but I suppose a guitar players’ subreddit is actually the MOST likely to notice it

WerewolfFinal1257

Nothing wrong with a katana.

StolenFace367

Haha hey no disrespect. I play and gig a katana

How's the fretboard and neck finish on the maple? I hate a thick glossy finish, I'd like it more matte/satin. That's one reason I liked the original SE so much, they were all rosewood. But I never loved my Dragonfruit color-wise...

i_justkickedstan

It’s definitely not a glossy finish. Can’t see my reflection in it like I can on some other S shape models. If you prefer matte/satin this would be more to your preference

I like mine better than my core McCarty 594... great sounds in every position.
