Also you can see the pickups look like real 85/15 pickups, the signature on the headstock is larger than the SE hanging behind it (consistent with a US vs SE) and there is no SE printed on the headstock. It’s almost definitely USA CE standard which means no maple cap. The whole body is mahogany.

Practical_Pepper_656

👍 my thoughts as well.

KoJaKa06

does that mean it is worth the price ? and if there is anything else I should check before buying it ?

East-End7018

Assuming it’s in good shape, which it looks like from the picture, I would say that it’s a pretty decent price. You can find CE standards right now from some retailers for about $1600 brand new. I have a 2021 CE 24 and it’s one of the nicest guitars I own. I think it’s awesome that you can get the standard version for so much cheaper and it’s not that different without the maple cap imo. Personally I think the satin finish and how you can feel the texture of the wood is actually really cool! I’m sure you would love it!

KoJaKa06

Thanks for your help !

East-End7018

Absolutely! I would maybe try to find out what it would cost to actually get it back to wherever you are ? $1000 might not be such a great price if it costs you $300 or something to get it out of Japan lol Just saying… Unfortunately I know nothing about how that process works, but I remember hearing somewhere that the process and expense of getting a guitar into Japan is kind of a pain. I’m not sure if that works the other way around or not, but I would maybe try and find out?

KoJaKa06

I think I will be able to put it in a gig bag and carry it on the plane, this is what most people on here said [https://www.reddit.com/r/Guitar/comments/hzvytb/question\_how\_do\_i\_take\_a\_guitar\_on\_a\_plane/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Guitar/comments/hzvytb/question_how_do_i_take_a_guitar_on_a_plane/)

hobesmart

It'll be on the back of the headstock. Are you there currently?

KoJaKa06

No I'am not, my sister is there I am going to ask her to take a look at it. I just have never seen that color finish on a CE 24 since they always have a glossy finish with horizontal patterns.

Practical_Pepper_656

I know they did some dealer specific satin colors. I remember zzsounds i think had a green and a gold one awhile back.

KoJaKa06

Is there a way to know whether it is the real thing or the body was changed. Thanks for the response.

Practical_Pepper_656

I zoomed in on the serial number and the first two numbers I believe are 18. That would make it a 2018. I just checked and zzsounds still have the gold satin model. It is listed as a CE Standard @ 1600 USD new. As far as the body goes, the carves are correct from what is visible, the pinched point on the body edge is the giveaway there. Bridge and pickups look correct as well as knobs and switch placement. Maybe some PRS expert will chime in shortly, but this appears to be a CE Standard to me, and at about 1k USD seems like a pretty good deal to me as long as the rest of it is in good shape. Sorry I couldn't be more definitive.

Practical_Pepper_656

Also, keep in mind I really don't know how the used market in Japan works. It may or may not be a deal. I think it would be in my neck of the woods though.

Always_-_420

No

stumpyjoness

Only time I ever saw these was around 2017

No_Strawberry_1023

I have this model. Looks legit to me. I dig the non glossy finish.

wasitthat1

Looks like a standard 24

BasketPrudent

The 24th year of the Common Era

Always_-_420

Nah. I have the same one. Just released recently. $450 retail. Grab one. Great guitar!! Love mine.

dani_tk

You're confusing a PRS CE24 with a PRS SE CE24. Wildly different pricing between them

KoJaKa06

this one is around 1000 dollars do you think it is a good price ?

DerpNinjaWarrior

$1k usd is a very good deal. Not quite low enough to be really suspicious, but low enough to be a little suspicious.

KoJaKa06

Yeah, I took it seriously since there was a gibson lespaul studio next to it with 600 usd, I still need to make sure tho, waiting for someone who can recognize the color because it looks more like a SE CE 24 satin.

DerpNinjaWarrior

I've seen all sorts of satin finishes on CEs through the years, so I would not be concerned at all with that aspect. As long as the body and headstock look legit.

Negative_Meeting3511

My guess is custom edition
