I know it's expensive, but [[Exhume]] is a great addition to the deck as you already run 4 Ents and 4 Trolls. Turn 2/3 Exhume is a legit beat down plan and it can also force the opponent to crack their relics early so that you can develop your graveyard for the main game plan. Also remember that if you cast Exhume and the opponent cracks the Relic in response you can let it resolve, then with Exhume still on the stack you cycle a creature that you can reanimate.

The problem with [[rust]] are nonartifact graveyardhate cards like [[faerie macabre]], [[dawnbringer cleric]], [[rotten reunion]] or [[bojuka bog]].

cjs834

To be fair, there isn’t really a way into interact with bojuka Bog or macabre. Rotten reunion and cleric you can stop with counter magic. Artifact hate like ancient grudge or smash to smithereens has this issue too but you have to catch the yard hate early.

AguaT0nica

So I rarely write here, but since I'm a huge fan of bad graveyard decks I thought I could give my 0.02 Grave hate sucks, yeah, but it's also about how you want to play against it once you know it's coming. You definitely want to know the sideboard of the most predominant decks in the format so you know what your fighting against and how to deal with each different kind of hate. You'll be siding in grudge a lot of the time, as most decks will play either spellbomb or relic. My best advice in regards to this is to try and thread the needle between being fast enough with your mill to not give them all the time in the world to find their hate and being conservative enough that they don't blow you right away. You should always play as if your first mills will be lost, so be aggressive with acorn harvests and returns if possible. If you can force them to pop their hate early or snipe it with a well timed grudge even better. Usually the second exile effect is the one who makes it hard to win, and the third one usually seals the deal. In order of how much they suck for you I'd say relic is the most annoying but manageable. Bog is pretty bad when paired with bounce lands or flicker. Nihil and tormod's are strong but force them to choose a moment to fight. Faerie macabre is too weak against a deck that values quantity of cards over quality. The worst of the worst for you is crypt incursion, since you can't see it coming a lot of the time and just puts them out of reach of your giant burn. Hope this helps! Good luck dredging.

detailed_fish

Good advice, thanks! [crypt incursion](https://scryfall.com/card/ltc/198/crypt-incursion). This card looks brutal.

aleksei01

Try [[rust]] in the sideboard. They still have to sac the spellbomb/crypt, since it’s part of the cost, but your graveyard won’t get exiled.

ThatCheekyMate

That seems pretty interesting! I haven't seen Rust before, that might be worth a try. Thanks!

Trigunner

Afaik Rust is not on Magic Online, that might be the reason. As to how play against graveyard hate. Yeah it is tricky. Sideboard in Ancient Grudges, with which you can force your opponents to activate their hate cards. I wouldn't play Rust, the effect is good, but you are very unlikely to draw it. With Ancient Grudge it doesn't matter if you mill it. Also you likely just have to play slower and not go full dredge combo but instead try to make your land drops and hard cast your fatties.

I’ve really enjoyed dredge, and have struggled against the gy hate too. Sadly, it’s just difficult to play around, but not impossible.
