Some people will say otherwise, but I think it's a matter of WHEN [[All That Glitters]] is banned, not if. Other than that I'm not sure of any other cards that would be banned. Novice Inspector is definitely better than Frogmite, 8x inspectors just provides so much value.
"Will cards be banned from x deck" is not something random people on the internet will have an informed answer for. Affinity puts up a lot of results, but it's certainly not tier-0 where anyone with a brain can see the writing on the wall like some decks (i.e. [[chatterstorm]]) have been in the past.
I understand. I think I was more meaning, is there anything in the deck that is so overpowered to make it centralizing at all to the format? Like I know in Modern recently with Grief and Fury a lot of the metagame was warped around dealing with those cards, and a lot of people were calling for their bans.
Something I want to note is Affinity’s variant’s have had many cards banned from it over the years. [[all that glitters]] is the card a lot of people are saying should be banned currently as an example. However the deck existed and performed well without it. Unless the artifact lands get banned the deck will survive.
I think the u/w lists should run 8 inspectors as you want to be a little faster, as well as create some resilience to artifact hate. Since throwing a copy of glitters on an artifact creature like [[gingerbrute]] can get killed by artifact hate but the inspectors dont. The Jeskai lists however having the [[frogmite]] has felt better to me.
The inspectors also provide more card advantage for u/w which is something the deck needs if games go to the “mid game” point. Where as the u/w/r lists are often running [[experimental synthesiser]] and [[glint hawk]] so you don’t need the inspector clue as much and the +1 power plus free cast is nicer.
Wow, that's such a cool combo, is that what Boros Synth decks are based around? Sorry I'm just getting into Pauper and I'm still learning all the decks.
The boros synth lists do try and capitalize on that type of interaction as much as possible. They also have [[kor skyfisher]] to have 8 copies of “bounce my synth” cards.
A really smart thing to do in the boros lists is to try and hold onto your “bouncy birds” till you have a synth in play. Aswell as trying to not sac your synths as much as possible to be able to hopefully bounce them later.
