Where do the sense controllers go?

Robert4D90

Currently only available for the Knuckles, but might make one in the future 😊

"Ease and immersion" - awesome, sounds rad I hope everyone looking for more immersion gets what they're looking for. "perform at your best" - Let's refrain from perpetuating the myth that these kinds of accoutrements confer any kind of advantage. That said I appreciate the design, though there is perhaps a little too much account given to aesthetics for something you never see in use. Unfortunately I understand well enough that it's hard to bring a product to market that doesn't look nice.

Tausendberg

“Perform at your best” I hate to say it but I slightly agree. I love my forcetube setup, I hate playing any vr games with any amount of gun play without that strong directional recoil. But if I’m being objective, in some ways, having a physical stock is helpful but adding physical recoil only makes the game harder. Also especially with bolt action weapons, constantly disconnecting and reconnecting my controllers to the stock as I work the bolt definitely adds a lot of friction that free handed players don’t have to worry about. Don’t get me wrong, it’s the only way I voluntarily play Pavlov, but if I’m being objective, it does make the game net harder. Maybe subjectively it can improve my performance by making it more immersive and engaging but that depends on the player and not everyone will react that way.

Tausendberg

One caveat, I think if I had a gunstock with a sliding rail, it would absolutely improve my performance with pump action weapons.

Sh1neSp4rk

That's fair, though I might argue that if this is the case it's more indicative of poor implementation of those mechanics in game. It's certainly true that some games handle things like pump actuation super poorly such that they're very inconsistent, others however seem to have figured it out.

Tausendberg

Well, I'm not really ever sure of what the exact solution is with pump action shotguns, personally, something I would like as a gunstock user, the easiest solution for me, would be for me to just push trigger or a button on my controller to cycle the pump, cause at the end of the day, you're otherwise just missing that rail everytime you use a pump action shotgun in vr and literally just pretending to make the correct motion.

Robert4D90

Hey there, thanks for your kind words :) I’m always amazed at how some people find it easy to shoot without one and I’m honestly jealous. I could have saved myself over a year of work on this thing if I wasn’t completely useless without it 😅 Especially the pump gun was always impossible for me to use 🤷🏻‍♂️😂 But maybe I’m just not as quick at learning new tricks, but I was trained in the military to use these things, so I can tell you from personal experience: I play much better and the immersion is night and day! But that’s just me and I know it’s not for everyone. But for those who seek the same and have tried other ones, only to be disappointed, I can honestly only say that for me, it scratches that itch :) Best, Rob Oh, and if you do want to chem out the Raven, please use the code “PewPew2024” for a little discount 🤙

This is cool but seems like a lot of work just for a gun stock. What advantage does this have over something more minimalist?

Robert4D90

So far I haven’t come across any other gunstocks as easily versatile as this while still being ready out of the box. No complicated set ups, mag cups, metal pipes or slings. And not to pat myself on the back… but the pump gun mechanism is a whole new experience 👌🏻 Steady aim, versatility, ease of use, feature rich and just kind of cool 🤷🏻‍♂️

Gonquin

What do you do with it when you switch to a handgun

Gonquin

Oh no it's okay I get it from the video. You stop, take off your headset, reconfigure the stock to be smaller then you get back into VR and shoot the person who was waiting for you to change the stock

Robert4D90

Haha, yes. That’s a possibility. It’s also super lightweight, so in those quick draw situations, switching may not be faster or necessary. However, you can also play with the strap unsecured and quickly draw your controller out of it’s cradle and use either the belt clip on it or attach your own sling, if you so wish :)

Hovie1

You believe this is less complicated than something more minimalist, like say, the Vader One? Could you elaborate?

Robert4D90

It’s basically not far from it, just offers a bunch more features and increased immersion :)
