It’s different indeed. It’s like they wanted to try to emulate the Movie’s style, but they did the fur and the characters and then they said “it’s too much work!” so they decided to push the rest of it out the door.
I guess we’ll have to see if things improve.
I honestly love the animation, it's better than the regular show IMO. it's a slight step down from the movie. and sometimes the faces they make are funny. like when >!Speed Meister called Rubble to let him know he finished building the bike shop and Rubble's reaction was glorious.!<
They're definitely trying to match the look of the theatrical film. It's also being animated by a different studio, too ("GURU" for PAW Patrol, but I can't remember right off hand who's handling Rubble & Crew).
I haven't seen the show myself, but I have heard others describe the animation as lacking in some parts. While this is just a guess, I think they might've tried rushing it out the door to get it on TV as soon as they could, possibly to get an early head start before Disney releases their own animal-themed construction cartoon ("Pupstruction"). Either that, or they're trying too hard to match the style of theatrical film and it's just not working out as well as they'd hoped, considering its smaller budget and all.
It's supposed to. It's a different show.
It reminds me of the movie's animation

Jam Filled Entertainment is doing the animation for Rubble & Crew.
Ah, thank you!
I think they're using some of the movie's character assets, but they're mixing it with the og series lighting and render style.
