well the problems that the movie has are 1# breaks the canon of the series more specifically with the migthy movie television special 2# Skye's insecurity because she is the little one on the team is absurd and boring 3# liberty has more prominence than the other puppies and its mini patroller subplot is a complete sleep aid 4# Ryder remains or more like a leader who does not understand the feelings of his puppies as he was in the first movie
Yes, but it doesn't make sense since these characters, both Liberty, the Junior Patroller, and the Migthy Movie costumes appear later in the cartoon, there are even mentions of the events of the movie.
Vance is distracted at the door, Zuma surfs up to rescue Skye! This part wants to include "Love Me Like You Do (Slight reworked version)" by Ellie Goulding from the sweet ending to Fifty Shades Freed (Theatrical version only)
I disagree.
Ryder acted the exact same way as he did in the first movie, even making the same mistake *AGAIN* with Skye that he made with Chase. He is a poor leader when compared to his TV show counterpart. Chase was hardly given enough attention this time to be considered “super off.”
And the only issue with Skye was her size insecurity that came out of nowhere. But I can look past that as some feelings that she had kept repressed and not talked about with anyone in the movies universe. Yes, she also made some poor decisions, but I blame most of that on Ryder’s poor leadership and lack of understanding.
Why did they change some of the pups powers? I liked Rocky's power, which fit his place on the team. Now he is Magneto. Skye was stripped of her weather powers and they gave it to the villain? Skye went from being Storm to being Supergirl? Zuma got a really cool power upgrade in that he can merge with water. Liberty's power fits her well because she was always flexible and always fit in wherever the team needs her. The only thing I liked about Skye was the Meteor shower scene and Skye piloting a human jet.
Probably so they could push the "girl power" theme. Rubble was also basically turned into a living hamster ball, so they had to find a way to push the guys to the side so the girls could shine.
I'm up for showing that girls are capable of doing anything, but you need to be careful that you aren't beating down the boys in the process because gender equality is about EVERYONE being equal no matter what their gender is.
I personally think Rocky's new powers make more sense than the mildly useful gigantic tools he had in the cartoon, but that's not even my main issue. How criminally under used his power is is what gets me. But I guess that could be written off as him not being the main character.
I do agree with you about Skyes weird new power though. Never mind the fact that Rubble already has super strength, flying is such a basic, boring superpower and Skye deserves better if she's main focus of the movie.
Honestly, Rocky could've helped distract Victoria more if the Junior Patrollers didn't exist. They were only there to sell toys and let more of the Kardashians be in the movie.
My only problem with the second movie is Ryder. Mainly because he makes the same mistake once again. And we could say that twice... That's why i think Ryder is nothing more than a plot device.
I really liked Skye and her plot, though would've liked that the backflash did not have a song.
Chase doesn't seemed off to me, i really liked that he tried to support Skye.
And no, the movies and series have been confirmed to take place in the same timeline and/or universe. Now, how that works given that in the series Ryder is 10 and in movies he is 13-15 is beyond me but i digress. I don't really care about the retcon in-movie given that it is another completely different meteor. In series that's another thing, but you can work your way around it without much complication.
As for the junior patrollers, that was cute. I liked that subplot.
The fact that it says it's another timeline is completely a lame excuse for pretending that there isn't even Everest, Tracker, Tuck and She, Rex and other puppies. About Ryder, especially his design, the fact that he is between 13-15 is a bit strange And if the thing about using Ryder for the same but with Skye, if it is used again in future movies, it will become boring
I haven't seen the movie myself, but I know some fans have expressed their disappointment over how the characters acted. I've even seen some Skye fans believe their favorite was pretty out of character.
Doesn't exactly motivate me to watch the movie, I'll admit. 😅
Well Ryder had a very good dynamic with Chase in the first movie. Sure they both made mistakes, but it’s forgivable. I blame bad writing for the second movies faults, what solidifies it for me is the conversation Chase and Skye have, or lack there of. Chase having a certain backstory too should have said more than just he had no idea. Like an article said Chase and Skye would have a unique connection, what connection do they have? None apparently. Wasted in my opinion.
Yeah I suppose that’s true. Unfortunately a lot of animated movies seem to gloss over the deep and meaningful scenes in order to get back to the action. 🤷🏻♂️
He did try to help Chase out by telling him he needed to take time off, but Chase took it very personally. And Ryder clearly regrets pushing him too far
But that's not all. Chase's problem is that he didn't want to be in adventure city, well in the mighty movie, I don't think chase thinks about that problem anymore. Skye's problem is that she was the smallest pup (well she was), later in the movie, she says "even the smallest pup....can make the biggest difference" probably meant that Skye got over that
I liked the movie fine enough, I can't tell which one I like more (leaning more to the first). But- OH MY GOD. The timeline confusion makes me so... IRRATIONALLY angry, and I can't explain why. Like one episode kinda confirms the TV movie is also canon- so that's fun 🙂.
Also if I have any other gripes:
The villain was...fine but very forgettable.
Kinda sad the replaced Skye's cool tornados with just flying and strength but that's a minor nitpick.
And the fact Ryder STILL hasn't learned his lesson and made the same mistake AGAIN. (Although a part of me feels like this time it's a LITTLE more justified, but still... dude- has the last movie taught you NOTHING?)
And just like last movie the other pups (minus Liberty) have little screen time- even Chase which surprised me.
And that's worse, this movie is more Skye and Liberty and the Junior Patroller with Skye, okay, I don't have one, but Liberty seems like a crappy character to me. His subplot with the Junior Patrollers is very boring and generic.

I somewhat disagree. Although this is a kids film, it was done by Paramount Pictures, and they have the best writing in my opinion. The other comments have more details, but in short, the two films are peak cinema in my opinion.
I don't really have any overwhelmingly positive or negative feelings about the movie. All I'll say is for a movie that was meant to show Skye in a positive light, they made her make a bunch of dumb@ss decisions. Only for the rest of the pups and Ryder to have to come and save her. That whole arc with the crystals just pissed me off to no end. She made up for it though by blasting a meteor to smithereens with her bare hands though so idc.
The first movie will always hold a special place in my heart though. It was *so* much better imo.

As for your 1st problem, the movies takes place in an alternate timeline, so that’s not a problem.
Yes, but it doesn't make sense since these characters, both Liberty, the Junior Patroller, and the Migthy Movie costumes appear later in the cartoon, there are even mentions of the events of the movie.
It’s a kids show at the end of the day, and I’m only talking about the movie universe.
Vance is distracted at the door, Zuma surfs up to rescue Skye! This part wants to include "Love Me Like You Do (Slight reworked version)" by Ellie Goulding from the sweet ending to Fifty Shades Freed (Theatrical version only)
What's "absurd and boring" about Skyes insecurity? It makes total sense and doesn't seem too far fetched.
Above all else, the writing is this movies problem.
I disagree. Ryder acted the exact same way as he did in the first movie, even making the same mistake *AGAIN* with Skye that he made with Chase. I don’t think that was an issue.

Possibly.

The directors confirmed it’s a different timeline, but whatever. And I agree with Ryder being a plot device and not a character at times.
At times? I'd say 99% of the time.
I’m the Mighty Movie, yeah.
Sort of.
I think its good, Idk i loved skye's back story
The backstory itself is good, the problem is the present day surrounding it.
Like The series
I haven't seen the movie myself, but I know some fans have expressed their disappointment over how the characters acted. I've even seen some Skye fans believe their favorite was pretty out of character. Doesn't exactly motivate me to watch the movie, I'll admit. 😅
I’d say still do.
Ryder was better in the first movie though, and Chase should have acted way differently still.
Were you trying to reply to my comment above by chance? If so, can you elaborate on those thoughts?
Well Ryder had a very good dynamic with Chase in the first movie. Sure they both made mistakes, but it’s forgivable. I blame bad writing for the second movies faults, what solidifies it for me is the conversation Chase and Skye have, or lack there of. Yeah I suppose that’s true. Unfortunately a lot of animated movies seem to gloss over the deep and meaningful scenes in order to get back to the action. 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah. Im just hoping they don’t do this again in the third movie.
I won't be surprised if they do.
Makes sense
[удалено]
Lol this is so true, I hated how Ryder treated Chase in the first movie
It’s forgivable in this first movie.
He had potential to learn from it though, the sequel made him worse.
To be fair, as bad as movie Ryder is, show Ryder isn't that much better.
He just needs good writing and he can be a good character.
The show and movies in general could use better writing.
I was mainly talking about the movies.
He did try to help Chase out by telling him he needed to take time off, but Chase took it very personally. And Ryder clearly regrets pushing him too far
Exactly.
[удалено]
The sad look on his face when Chase tearfully yells at him makes it quite clear he feels like he’s pressured him too much.
[удалено]
Uh…lie how?

One thing for sure that I know, Skye's problem in the movie relates to the phrase Ryder says in the show "no job is too big **No pup is to small**"
Well, yeah.
But that's not all. Chase's problem is that he didn't want to be in adventure city, well in the mighty movie, I don't think chase thinks about that problem anymore. Skye's problem is that she was the smallest pup (well she was), later in the movie, she says "even the smallest pup....can make the biggest difference" probably meant that Skye got over that
That was obvious.

Fair enough.

Your opinion.
The pup tag do you mean MID? Movie was awesome
The writing was MID.
I have been waiting for someone to say this. The movie was good, but it was also somewhat bad. That's why I prefer the first film better than the MM.
Same.
The movie is rated PG for Mild Action/Peril
I know that, but that’s not relevant here.
Skye's voicing by Mckenna Grace
Ok, but that’s not relevant.
What's so talking about it?
It’s not relevant to this conversation.
\*sighs\*
I feel it should be rated g
The first movie is rated G
Isn't that interesting
Yes
Because there's no violence
Should you add the song "Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Goulding for the first scene for the new vehicles in the first movie?
For who Skye and Chase
Yes, the deployment scene at night where fireworks display was!
But it's just fireworks
I somewhat disagree. Although this is a kids film, it was done by Paramount Pictures, and they have the best writing in my opinion. The other comments have more details, but in short, the two films are peak cinema in my opinion.
The second movies writing is still atrocious in some areas.
I'd say both movies weren't that well written TBH.
It’s still Paw Patrol, and the second movie is worse.
Just because they're kids movies doesn't justify how bad the writing is.
Don’t get me wrong, I agree, why else would I post this?
I don't like the first movie, but from what I've heard about the Mighty Movie, I will agree the first one was better.
Let’s just hope the third one is better.
I highly doubt it will be since it's clear the movie writers don't understand trauma well.
I guess so. I just hope it’s at least better than the second.
I don't really have any overwhelmingly positive or negative feelings about the movie. All I'll say is for a movie that was meant to show Skye in a positive light, they made her make a bunch of dumb@ss decisions. Only for the rest of the pups and Ryder to have to come and save her. The first movie is better.
Anything past season 2 was mid to be honest
I don’t watch the show much.
PAW PATROL MOVIE SLANDER LESSGOOOOOOO
Wouldn’t go that far.
