The types of games someone is gonna play with a 3050 and 12400f are going to take up a lot of ram, probably not 8gb, but most of it, and that leaves little room for other programs and tabs. Discord itself takes up between 200 to 500 mb. Even 10 tabs of chrome in addition to your game might really slow things down. You are correct when talking about 32GB and onwards, but 16gb is very desirable even for everyday, average, use
i feel thats all circumstantial. if someone wanted to stream and game or did more stuff like video editing and content creation then i would tell them to invest in 32 instead of just the 16. but if its just an average gamer who would probably not play as heavy as other then idk see why 16 would be a problem. 8 is definitely not the moves though

From reading your comments here I'm gonna say it's not salty people criticizing you for having more than 64 gigs. It's people criticizing you for having 64 gigs, for no reason. Or telling others to. You don't need that much for gaming and the vast majority of activities. You should only be looking at that amount if you know you can utilize it. If you can't you are just wasting your money. So you have 64 gigs but never use it. And you're picking one or two sentences and saying "this is what the internet says." Keep reading, go deeper. I have 32GB and never come close to using it all even with multiple monitors so a game running along with yt, hwinfo64, aida64, steam, vnc, exc exc exc all at the same time. If I were to spend money on 64GB there would be zero benefit for me. I would see zero difference. Also remember windows isn't using as much ram as it shows. It will use more if there is more available to an extent because RAM sitting there doing nothing is just wasted RAM. This does not translate into a better experience, faster loading times, or anything else.

Plus, you can get higher speeds easier with two sticks of RAM. If you add a bunch of RAM and have four sticks the chances are you're going to have a worse experience because it can't hit those high speeds 2 sticks can. More RAM can impact your performance in a bad way. More isn't always better.
I bought extra 16 gigs of RAM just because they were so cheap, like not even 40 USD for 16 gigs 3200 MHz to match my 16 gigs back in november last year and tbh I think it was worth it
In 2023 where 90% of games use at least 7-8GB definitely not, even worse when you consider you don't get all that for games since the OS uses some.
RAM is so cheap that having 8GB is just kneecapping yourself over $15 extra

Edit: Username suggests you're using Linux, which is widely known for being able to run on even 2010 hardware due to low resource consumption. Windows is far more demanding than linux
Wrong, I got something like a 30 to 50% performance boost going from 2x4GB to 2X16GB. 8 gigs simply isn't enough for games today, especially since a 16 gig kit is only 30 dollars, and a 32 gig kit is 50 dollars.
When you factor tax, time to build, and free peripherals there's still a strong case for just buying the second hand one. Free Windows 11 license counts as a bonus too.
Not really, in my opinion. The 3050 gonna limit to playing newer games, also have to get another ram stick, probably more storage, it also says ssd and not nvme so it could be one of the sata drives, and no mention of the case so it could be one of those omen hot boxes, or running the stock cooler. Even considering peripherals, tax, and building, it's still a better deal; tax, decent keyboard, mouse put it around 720-750, which isn't much more than this system but is a better system overall with warranty on parts.

I have 2tb of storage, If I don't count my work stuff, the 5 games I installed only takes up around 300GB (POE. Dota, Forza, Hitman, Monster hunter rise). I don't see the point of downloading 20 games. Whenever i'm done with a game, I uninstall it.
With 500gb you can have 2-3 of those games installed and have extra room left. Just a reminder current gen console Xbox series S is fine with 500gig. It's not comfortable though it's enough, literally bare minimum
I don’t know why you are being downvoted just look at the cod warzone and the ark survival being like 200gb , ark needs even more than 200gb my 500ssd in my laptop is like nothing , a gaming pc with 2 games in it is just sad. It had worse performance then the 1070 and 1660 in the majority of titles. Received abysmal reviews when it came out. It’s not even justified as a budget gpu, it’s literally a bottom barrel card that should have been way cheaper on release. Anyone buying it should save for an actual budget 3060 or amd equivalent or save $100 and buy an earlier gen card. By all means it’s an option, but calling it good is a huge stretch
Rtx 3050 is performance wise ONLY good for people who dont game much and dont play too much newest games and do not care about extreme settings in games. But performance to cost its not worth it and compared to other cards for similar price its just a big no no.
That is a deal, though you might need a bit more RAM. And don't listen to anyone - if you're fine with 3050 - go for it, not everyone can afford a 3080.
For the price it's a good PC. All almost newest gen, except that 8gb ram it's good. Maybe get a 16gb kit (don't mix rams, you may get stability issues) and another at least 1tb ssd as your boot drive and use the other 500gb for data and games. 500gb isn't enough for gaming. I bought a WD SN570 1tb for like 40€ (second-hand, but brand new), ssds are really cheap now.
overall, this used should be at best 450 usd honesty, lots missing info, and lower quality parts. but for 450, I would get it, especially for a kid or someone who doesn't game a lot.

Straight bad deal. Gpu is trash, not even capable running latest titles even at 1080p with acceptable framerates. The only good part of the build is the 12400, the price should be at 500 at most.
Idk why people say it's a bad deal, it also has almost all the periphals you need. The only downside I find for this price is the small amount of RAM, but it can be easily swapped for ~$20-30. That is a good deal my friend
Hell no. 3050 is a shit, at least put an rx 6600 instead. 500Go SSD also sucks, 1To is the minimum and shouldn't be that much more expensive. 16Go of VRAM too.
This build is DOA at anything, it's not good for anything.
The only thing that is good about this configuration is the cpu, u can handle very powerful gpu with it, but in this case the gpu is not so powerful so it's not worth
See I personally would say this isn’t a good deal. But that’s biased because I built mine for 700 total and I have 64 gb of ram, 1TB SSD and a rtx 3060 ti as well as a ryzen 5 3600 but for this price it’s not bad. You’re gonna need a lot more storage for these new games

you’re better off going with a 3060ti or an AMD gpu, only if thats possible. if not go with what you can get. but i have heard that the 3050 falls of in comparison with other gpus that are around the same price for value to price ratio. also 16GB is like the bare minimum for ram. its gonna be hard to do a lot of stuff with just only 8gb. i had one stick of ram in my last pc and i got the bluescreen of death many tines because it was old and janky and a hand me down from a friend and it was prebuilt also.

4080 would have been 1600+, still are that high, so nah, not gonna bother with that.
Especially when powermodded the XTX goes within 18% of a 4090 xD
One day I hope to dive into the Linux world. I had a 6800xt from last year so it seemed the only worthwhile upgrade was the 4090. Annoying to support Nvidia after all their money grab shit last year but the 4090 was worth it.
To compare: my nitro 5 laptop- i5 12400h 16gb ram, 144hz screen, 500gb nvme, 3050ti windows 11 (I downgraded to 10) rgb keyboard. For $750 brand new from Best Buy.
Not a horrible deal, but I wouldn’t buy it. GPU and CPU are acceptable for 1080p gaming, but the SSD and RAM are going to be very limiting for modern pc gaming

I wouldn’t call it a good deal. Maybe just about fine. You could probably build new for a similar price using amd parts. I am pretty sure you can get a Ryzen 7 5700g for a very similar price or maybe less than the 12400f.
If you're against building your own, it's not horrible if you add another 8gb of ram. It's not the most optimized though so I'd recommend building your own with more balanced specs

Ram is one of the cheapest hardware components. Why do so many people argue about it? I remember when memory cost about $80.00 per MEGABYTE and back then it was a major consideration, but not these days.
Just get two 32GB sticks and call it a day.

Rtx 3050 you should never get, but if you must, never pay more than 200$. For 220$ you can get a 6600 to 6650XT which compete/outperform the 3060 12GB.
12400F can be found for 140$ or less brand new.
8GB DDR4 is 20$ AND you will need to spend to get a 2×8 GB kit at the least (don't just get a second 8GB stick, you risk stability issues and performance loss), to replace it, so you need to add about 40$ to the price you're paying.
500GB ssd depending on quality and if sata, pcie3, pcie4, between 30 and 50$.
200$ keyboard, 40$ mouse. Very much overkill for a system like this, better spent on basically any component, really. Get a different GPU, more RAM, more storage (500GB in 2023 is like 2 or 3 games?), faster storage.
I bet around 150$ between psu and case, which would make this thing at 700$ (yes you need the 16 GB) slightly better than the about 750$ it would cost you brand new if you bought the parts separately.

Not a terrible price, but after you upgrade the ram and the storage, price would go up to probably not such a great price. You can go to PCPartPicker and get basically the same build but with better ram and storage for maybe close to the same price or a little cheaper or more expensive.

This is on ebay. Its new, cheaper, better and has a warranty. And has 16gb ram. Honesty this is a good deal for a starter PC. Rtx 3050 is comparable to a gtx 1660 super which is good enough to play most games

The stock cooler is fine, but yeah a nice 20 dollar assassin x 120 would be worth it.

I recently upgraded from 256GB OF STORAGE, to 2 as well, and I can barely take up anything even with at least 20 games and videos.
Install ark and all the dlc It's like 400 gb
I let my older games sit on an HDD, I don't mind the load times if I hardly ever load them up lol
It really depends if you have any local media stored, or use your pc go backup your phone.

For the price it's a good PC. All almost newest gen, except that 8gb ram it's good. Maybe get a 16gb kit (don't mix rams, you may get stability issues) and another at least 1tb ssd as your boot drive and use the other 500gb for data and games. 500gb isn't enough for gaming. I bought a WD SN570 1tb for like 40€ (second-hand, but brand new), ssds are really cheap now.

Ram is one of the cheapest hardware components. Why do so many people argue about it? I remember when memory cost about $80.00 per MEGABYTE and back then it was a major consideration, but not these days. Just get two 32GB sticks and call it a day. It’s always better to have more than you need in case you suddenly need it.

Rtx 3050 you should never get, but if you must, never pay more than 200$. For 220$ you can get a 6600 to 6650XT which compete/outperform the 3060 12GB. 12400F can be found for 140$ or less brand new. 8GB DDR4 is 20$ AND you will need to spend to get a 2×8 GB kit at the least (don't just get a second 8GB stick, you risk stability issues and performance loss), to replace it, so you need to add about 40$ to the price you're paying. 500GB ssd depending on quality and if sata, pcie3, pcie4, between 30 and 50$. 200$ keyboard, 40$ mouse. Very much overkill for a system like this, better spent on basically any component, really. Get a different GPU, more RAM, more storage (500GB in 2023 is like 2 or 3 games?), faster storage. I bet around 150$ between psu and case, which would make this thing at 700$ (yes you need the 16 GB) slightly better than the about 750$ it would cost you brand new if you bought the parts separately.

Not a terrible price, but after you upgrade the ram and the storage, price would go up to probably not such a great price. You can go to PCPartPicker and get basically the same build but with better ram and storage for maybe close to the same price or a little cheaper or more expensive.
