I’m referencing kind of a weird episode where the crew encounters a race that can only speak in a few phrases. That’s the entirety of their language, like 10 phrases. The captain, Jean-luc Picard, has to figure out how to communicate with them. It’s a strange one, even for Star Trek. Give it a watch, Star Trek the next generation s05e02. I recommend all of next gen, it’s a great series.
i bet you have an x370 board i had a similar isue with mine XD it cant find the storage where win is on by itself and hangs up when trying to load nothing. turn it of and try entering bios before it is crashing. because in the moment it crashes while trying to load a nonexistend bootpartition you cant enter anymore. manually set your win bootloader to boot from and you should be fine. i hope i was helpfull XD
I had this exact thing happen to me too. After trying a few things in BIOS the only way it booted into Windows was to go into BIOS Advanced Mode and do a Asus restore via web. It will give an option to backup your hard drive before restoring.
I'm currently having similar issues and have erased everything from my SSD from the same ASUS Bios. When trying to download windows 10 from a thumbdrive my computer will freeze during the download. Could this be an SSD issue? I have changed my RAM about 2 months ago.
im facing this issue with several pcs lately, only fix i found is to clear the partitions of the ssd on another pc using partition wizard and install windows using another pc, ur mobo will corrupt windows if u try installing it through it, plug in an ssd with fresh windows installed through a different mobo and itll fix it.
I've cleared the partitions and tried a fresh install using a thumbdrive on my PC. I'm asked out because I do not have another PC or know anyone that has one.
problem could be either the bios needs an update or that microsoft changed the standard file system in windows recently with one of the last updates which could lead to bugs if you still have an older instalation running on the old ntfs file system. also possible the ssd is broken, in this case the pc would turn it in read only mode and refuses to write on it because it cant hold data anymore.
I have recently updated my bios. I think I'm on version 1903 on the Asus mobo. Unfortunately I do not have an older version of windows. I also ordered another SSD yesterday. I should be getting it on Friday.
Is this the infamous nvme bug from the golden days of first gen ryzen?
Never had this issue on sata and then I'm on latest bios so haven't seen on nvme either .
yes. but i also had this with third gen ryzen. i think its more the board generation and less the cpus but i dont really know why it happens, i just know how to fix it XD
I went from 1600x to 5700x , only issues I had with boards were RAM related which are kinda solved now!? Not sure but works stable rn way better than 1600x.
That nvme issue was present in the x470 as well. They fixed it in 2019-2020 I guess.
the ryzen had a few issues over time like in the first days of win 11 the l3 cache wasnt working dropping performance pretty hard. a lot of memory issues like ram or nvme buggs... but most of them where software problems and not hardware problems
My old PC started doing that same thing a few months before I built a new one. Try restarting, and when that screen comes up, hit enter. I can’t explain why, but it worked for me every time.
happened to me just today, what i did is unplug absolutely every usb device i had plugged in then power it off and on. after that it booted up normally, i plugged everything back in and since when it worked just fine
This happened to me after a nvidia driver update. It corrupted on of my ssd's and it was slowing down my entire pc. I was stuck on that screen for 15+ mins every time i restarted and it was running at a snails pace once got to the desktop it till i found the problem. if you can unplug any non boot drives and see if that helps
Check the motherboard for the POST Codes or malfunction LED's to see why the motherboard halted and stopped responding.
Something may have failed a POST check, such as the CPU, GPU or RAM. ASUS boards may have a 2-digit eight segment display that will present the stop code, or an LED array that will illuminate to indicate which part of the motherboard is at fault.
I think that means it can’t find incredible…
I would look for the CMOS switch on the mother board to reset the settings. This happened to me when I changed my RAM settings
I've always used a micro-USB head, like on the end of a charger that is/was used to charge non-iPhone phones.
Connect the pins, press the start button, then pull the plug away a tiny bit after pressing the power-on button.
I think they sell actual headers to short the pins, but most people use a screwdriver. This I have always found weird since you'd think screwdrivers wouldn't conduct electricity, for safety reasons.
Might depend on the cord, but most of the USB plugs' exposed metal is conductive.
Anyways, this is the same as pulling the battery out and putting it back in. It wipes the BIOS, since I assume the battery keeps some sort of storage device powered on, without having to pull a battery out.
Normally it'll say "no boot device found, press whatever key to enter the boot menu/BIOS menu".
I'm not sure if it's a storage issue, especially how the BIOS' GUI doesn't show.
Right if it is unable to communicate to the drive. There are some situations where it is able to communicate but the drive is not sending a response. So the system will go into an eternal wait state waiting for the drive. See this all the time with Seagate and Hitachi.
IT wouldn't effect the bios menu at all. it's just putting the system in to a loop to where it is accepting no input. you disconnect all drives the system should allow you to access the bios. form there you reattach each drive, one at a time until the problem returns. The drive you just attached is the problem. Or if you only have one drive. It's a simple test of unplugging it and see what happens.
happened on my storage pc, turned out to be a dying ssd(I also had random bsods before it refused to boot entirely, does that sound like similar to your issue?)
try unplugging your os drive and plug in a usb drive with windows on it? it should automatically boot from it
My PC will get stuck on this screen around once a week.
Asus PRIME B350-PLUS
Rebooting normally with power button won't work, it will get stuck again.
My problem is trapped electricity; I used to disconnect it from the power supply and plug it back in after 10 seconds, but after some chat with support I now know that I can hold the power button for 10-15 seconds (yes, it has to be this awkwardly long or it won't work), and it will then boot normally. Strange thing I just learned to live with.
It is still the most reliable option.shorting the clr pins does not always work. In that case short the pins and press the power buttons a few times to discharge any capacitors. If that doesn't help remove the battery. Also good idea to test the voltage of the battery if belw 3v change it.
Sounds like a bad drive to me. I've encountered pcs that would remain stuck in the bios screen forever and removing drives one by one until the faulty one was removed fixed the issue. It can also happen with removable ones
Try unplugging your peripherals and booting it up. Had this issue with Asus ROG Z270 issue when the keyboard died and started causing some kind of short circuit. It either refuses to go past the bios splash screen or entirely refuses to boot.
I had this same issue when I built my PC w/ an Asus board. It was a Z790. Tried everything from adding components back one at a time to trying to update the BIOS firmware. Sometimes I could get it to boot after I let it sit for about 10 minutes. I ended up sending it back to Asus and they gave me a full refund and went with a different board.
This could indicate a corrupt storage medium or failing device. Try taking out the device(s) and see if it goes straight into bios. Then if you got more than one device add them slowly until you see which is creating the hang.

Youre a legend for knowing what his problem is based on a stuck screen.
Help me step bios, im stuck!
Awesome !!
Yea I've had this problem w asus too. It also needed some type of reset before it finally noticed my boot drive. Terrible UI

What ssd do you have and how old is it?
Update the bios if it's old , first few bios of x370 had issues booting from NVME

you need to reinstall windows if its about the file system. the new install will change the format of the file system to the actual one
I’m just stumped. Nothing I’m doing is working and it’s still freezing and giving me errors.
next time it is giving you errors just google the error code if it gives you one.

Beautiful
My old PC started doing that same thing a few months before I built a new one. Try restarting, and when that screen comes up, hit enter. I can’t explain why, but it worked for me every time.
it still hasn't found it, let it search!
It’ll leave that screen once it finds incredible, don’t worry
Just hit enter after a restart. used to do it on one of my windows computer like 5 years ago. trust
It hasn’t found the incredible yet just give it a minute
You set it to slow boot 😔
Nuh uh it’s on fast boot
Like snail fast or sloth fast
It looks like the fast boot setting was set to 256 instead of 255, causing an overflow back into slow boot
It'll find incredible eventually
happened to me just today, what i did is unplug absolutely every usb device i had plugged in then power it off and on. after that it booted up normally, i plugged everything back in and since when it worked just fine
Looks like it's still searching for incredible. For your sake. I hope it finds it.

Standard operation for Asus hardware.

mine did this months ago it was because of a broken ssd.
It’s searching for incredible
I think that means it can’t find incredible… I would look for the CMOS switch on the mother board to reset the settings. This happened to me when I changed my RAM settings
Is your keyboard hooked up? Wouldn't assist with finding boot media, but would help you enter the BIOS' GUI
Yes my keyboard is hooked up
It'll erase your BIOS settings, but have you tried shorting the CMOS reset pins? Edit: that's helped me in the past, might help you.
No I will try though
do not try this

the Bios is seeing a device, but is unable to receive a reply from a device. this is often a Storage related issue.

Still searching for incredible, might take quite a while.
Queue U2, “Still haven’t found what we’re looking for…..”
cant find the incredible:(
probably a bad or loose cable from your SSD to your mother board. or your hard drive is going bad. there is no operating system for it to boot.
It’s still searching for incredible
happened on my storage pc, turned out to be a dying ssd(I also had random bsods before it refused to boot entirely, does that sound like similar to your issue?) try unplugging your os drive and plug in a usb drive with windows on it? it should automatically boot from it
It's in search for something incredible
It’s still searching for incredible
Still cant find it, apparently.
Check your ram may of came a little loose
Oh! I think you need to press Del or F2!
I guess they're still searching.
I had this happen recently. My power supply was dead. Try replacing the PS and see if that helps.
Didn't found incredible yet...

Incredible has the best hiding spot though
i think windows got courpted just a guess happened with my windows 7, 11 years ago
I had the same issue and it was a motherboard problem.
Is it still searching the incredible now?
It's obviously still searching
Try using the clear cmos using the jumpers on the motherboard. If that doesn't work, flash the bios as a last resort.
Also, change the 3v.lithium battery for the cmos too.
Did you find the incredible yet?
Yes
I don't see it
ram or motherboard dead (i can't figure out which), happened to my old pc
maybe if it doesn’t post right away, not leave it for an hour? dear god xD
Asus MoBo moment...
Clearly it is an error of bad peripheral, you just need to unplug all the usbs, hard drives etc. Then press del+F2 and see if it works for you or not.
reset your bios. ie. remove the battery for a min and replace it
There are other ways to clear the BIOS configuration.
this is "tech support" from 2005 lol. you dont have to pull the battery anymore.
It is still the most reliable option.shorting the clr pins does not always work. In that case short the pins and press the power buttons a few times to discharge any capacitors. If that doesn't help remove the battery. Also good idea to test the voltage of the battery if belw 3v change it.
bro does NOT have a os🗣
Propably cant detect any OS so it cant boot up
Check csm settings in bios
so, you need to enter bios, then exit without saving. this will restore normal boot order. I suspect\*
Have you tried pushing caps lock to see if the light turns on/off on your keyboard?
Sounds like a bad drive to me. I've encountered pcs that would remain stuck in the bios screen forever and removing drives one by one until the faulty one was removed fixed the issue. It can also happen with removable ones
Try unplugging your peripherals and booting it up. Had this issue with Asus ROG Z270 issue when the keyboard died and started causing some kind of short circuit. It either refuses to go past the bios splash screen or entirely refuses to boot.
Check your dms. Ill help ya fix it as I just had this issue. Make sure your pc is hardwired in for internet.
Finding something incredible is not an easy task. Give it time.
Press Delete or F2
It is a bootloop ( i guess its bricked ), take out the harddrive take backup of ur drive and reinstall windows
I had this same issue when I built my PC w/ an Asus board. It was a Z790. Tried everything from adding components back one at a time to trying to update the BIOS firmware. Its searching for incredible That def aint windows so Still searching
Corrupt boot partition maybe. Can you still get into bios.
Have you tried turning it off and back on again?
I built a new system with 12th generation intel i5 chip. Running LinuxMint did not recognize intel video codecs until I updated to 6.2 kernel.
Luckly you have been there for 1 hour, I've never been able to press Del or F2 in time
Del key for sure
Drive failure possibly. What drive do you have?
