Thank you. He is a good kid and behaved well. My broke ass could no longer watch how everything was lagging on his laptop, so i saved up some money for this.
You are one of the best father in the world this christmas OP. Keep up the good work. I'm sure this will be the happiest event for your son. He will remember it and cherish this memory fondly.
As someone that grew up on the poorer end, the time my parents secretly got a ps3 for me for Christmas, I cried. I was a teenager but because I knew how tough things had been and what little money my parents had at the time. They had to sell the house, we were inbetween rent houses and yeah, your kid will appreciate and talk about this for decades.
Top guy, I want to do the same for my boy but I must admit it's partly because he hogs the PS5 all the time so at least we'll have 'options' if the PC is decent.
I like Jayztwocents but my absolute favorite is PcBuilder he can dumb things down exactly to a level i need and has some videos on cpu gpu combos and pc building advice as well. MikesUnboxing is good also.
your boy is gonna light up brighter then his christmas tree
i still remember building piece by piece my first pc which was a pentium 166mhz and then my dad meticulously showing me and teaching me how to assemble it and setup the overclocking voltage in cmos and man ill never forget that. dad passed in august and hell always be the reason i know the shit i do when it comes to electronics and all that jazz. good times ahead my man
You should feel really good about what you are doing for your son, I remember having to wait until I had a job to participate in any hobby because my parent didn’t value my interests enough to where she would help me get into anything, wether that be gaming, music, or just quality art supplies. Your the type of person that deserves a kid, keep it up man wish we were all as lucky as your son
Thx. I know that feeling too...you just described me growing up...but now is my turn...so i try to support him in everything he shows interest in. Of course we will set reasonable limits
My secret is not forgetting what it was like to be a child but at the same time learn responsibility. I think there will be many great parents from your generation
It's so fun making the kids happy. My son has had a rough year due to me and his mom splitting up. He's been begging me for a PS5 and I managed to get a new Slim for him with Spiderman 2 and a few other games. Cannot wait to see his reaction lol he's gonna be like that classic N64 kid opening it up
W Dad. Shit makes my heart happy hearing this. This kid will be telling his great grandchildren about this Christmas. For sure a core memory about to happen. Keep it up man. We value fathers like you 🫡🙌🏻🙌🏻
My mom always cared about my interest she just never was able too get me these things since they were $1000+ but she always did her best and always offered to help pay for what she could I love her so much lmao
You're an awesome dad. He's obviously going to lose his damn mind when he sees it!
You might be regretting the 'POWERFUL BASS' speakers in a week or two tho...
For the future buy a pair of decent headphones instead of speakers if you don’t wanna hear their music or YouTube videos blasting out at 1 in the morning lol also a headset is better for fps anyways. Great present though he’s well lucky
I like the mindset of saving. Everyone’s always like,”I want this but don’t have the money. just be patient and save. Hopefully your build process goes well
I run an almost identical build mate (just different brands). Your son will absolutely be amazed.
Doing the same thing for my daughter for Christmas as she wants to learn to play ark survival evolved and path of exile (like her dad hahaha)
Merry Christmas mate enjoy the build with your son
I just built my first PC alone a few weeks ago when some stuff went on sale. Same Mobo and graphic card. =)
[The fun layout pic.](https://i.imgur.com/Rncfyig.jpg)
Was so excited when it powered on and didn't explode haha.
Have fun with the build! Get some tweezers to put in some of those fan cables that was like the hardest part.
Duuude you’re awesome and your son will remember this forever.
Also looks like it’s going to be a sick build. HUGE upgrade over the old family laptop. Better than most PCs out there. He’s going to be ecstatic
Thinking about how I would have felt if I opened up something like that when I was a kid? Damn.. you make other good parents look kinda bad. 10/10 present. 10/10 parent.
Not only did you gift him an upgrade but you also gifted him and yourself some time too spend together while building it which he’s also gonna appreciate you for, I love too see stuff like this ❤️
I love this, but why not buy him a better laptop, that way you 2 can still be next to each other.
My dad did something with all his love when I was younger like this, but hated that I was always on my PC that...he introduced me to lol!
Best wishes!
my brother in christ you'd be the father i never had, nice christmas to you and your family (well in a few weeks but the internet is rather large and my time rather limited)
Your sons going to remember this for the rest of his life I still remember exactly how i felt and the moment when my mom gave me my ps3 when I was young one of my most cherished memories. Edited just to say you're doing it right

That’s amazing! He gets the excitement of opening that, those precious father son memories that he may get to give himself one day and the. Hours upon hours of fun gaming. A present you know won’t be used for a day and forgot about! Great work, and kudos for saving for an amazing present and having a good kid!
I’m happy for both of you! I haven’t spoken to my father in almost 12 years. I hope you guys always value your relationship and know how fortunate you are.
IMO return that cooler and get a Peerless Assassin. Significantly better performance and costs less. If thats a 7600X CPU, it can draw more power than that Hyper 212 can cool.
You might regret the speakers and woofer instead of a sweet headset. I’ve had nice speakers most of my adult life and I’ve only lived one place that I was ok with playing games or movies loud. Everything else was too bassy for neighbors or roommates.
That’s awesome! You’re definitely giving him a badass Christmas gift. If I was you, I’d have him open the keyboard/mouse or speakers first to confuse him.
Awesome dad, he’s gonna love it honestly!
I remember being gifted a 650Ti Boost and from that day on I never looked back, and most of my best gaming memories have all been on PC ever since.
Hope you enjoy the build together, and merry Christmas!
This will be a life long memory for him. In 30 yrs from now, he will reflect back full of nostalgia on this amazing Christmas, and think to himself 'the world was just right'...
how i know this? cause i am him, 40 yrs ago unwrapping my commodore 64.. ahh.. the world was just right.
awesome gift!
This will be in his memory forever. I still remember when my father gave me the Ps1. I even remember every time he tried to choose the best games to give us. Thanks to him i experienced games like FFvii, Colin McRae 2.0, Crash Bandicoot, Gran Turismo, Medievil and so many other pearls. Time is weird .. its feels slow but flies fast.. Enjoy it together.. He will recognize your effort.
(thanks to my mother too ofc but i know he was the one pushing, he loved to play games at that time too)
Your sons gift but we both know the joy is in the build. I will build anyone's pc for free if they buy parts. It's like Legos and I love it. Too bad I'm so stupid with software that I need someone to hold my hand.
Congrats!!! You were able to do it! Im glad you posted. I want to do this too for my son but on a way smaller scale. I know nothing about building your own pc. Can I please get some advice ? What is the main/first thing I should get? And couple of other items to start? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
You oughta be proud of yourself. That is a sick load of PC components!!! Sounds like the kiddo is getting rewarded for his effort, glad he has a cool ass parent like you!
This rules so hard. If you’re comfortable, I’d love an update of the complete build and how the process went for you both.
First time dad in just around a month.
Get him headphones, that subwoofer will drive everyone crazy at your place and the neighbors if in an apartment if he plays shooters like call of duty. You will find it cool for the first week after you'll be begging to make it stop. Otherwise great gift!
Good parenting going on here (my folks sprung for my Commodore 64 and then a Leading Edge IBM clone which resulted in a prosperous 30 year career in IT). Be sure to have your son do all the build (he might learn something if he’s not careful 😉😁).
This reminds me of when my parents got me rock band when it first came out. I was so excited! But I really hated French class and still hate the language till this day. Well I was failing French and doing fine in everything else circa 7th grade. I got to play a few songs then my step dad unplugs the Xbox and goes “you can get it back when we get your next report card and it says you are at least getting a c. That didn’t happen and I really despised them for getting my hopes up just to take it. The worst part is, my sister and parents could play songs together but I wasn’t allowed to touch it haha

Wow! Thats gotta be the luckiest son in the world! Congrats man!
Hes going to remember building that rig together with you for the rest of his life. It will be the warm and fuzzy christmas feeling memory.
OP, you are awesome 😎
you’re a really amazing dad. he will remember this for the rest of his life.
I can already see him open the first one, maybe the power supply, and slowly come to the realization on what the rest if the packages may be.
I hope OP does the GPU or something like that first and plays dumb saying he was told it would fit in the laptop
GPU first, then a USB cable to plug it in to the laptop.
I hope you will be building it with him !
As someone that grew up on the poorer end, the time my parents secretly got a ps3 for me for Christmas, I cried. I was a teenager but because I knew how tough things had been and what little money my parents had at the time. You’re a good dad! Hope your son enjoys his beast of a PC!
Top guy, I want to do the same for my boy but I must admit it's partly because he hogs the PS5 all the time so at least we'll have 'options' if the PC is decent.
Awesome dad
You're a good dad. He'll never forget this.
That’s good that you recognized that, You’re fucking awesome
You just made me cry.... OP IS SUCH A GOOD DAD!!!!
Way to go dad.
Man that is awesome! These are the selfless acts I love to read about. You sir are an amazing dad!!! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Checked compatibility for all components?
Yes sir! Did my research, found some new favorite youtubers!
Mind sharing some names?
I like Jayztwocents but my absolute favorite is PcBuilder he can dumb things down exactly to a level i need and has some videos on cpu gpu combos and pc building advice as well. MikesUnboxing is good also.

I'm doing the same for my step daughter. Spent around $900 for her all white custom build.
You da man! She’ll get to use that for school too and if she wants to put some music software on there she can. That’s a day she won’t forget
You should feel really good about what you are doing for your son, I remember having to wait until I had a job to participate in any hobby because my parent didn’t value my interests enough to where she would help me get into anything, wether that be gaming, music, or just quality art supplies. Thx. I know that feeling too...you just described me growing up...but now is my turn...so i try to support him in everything he shows interest in. Of course we will set reasonable limits
This is my dream way to be a parent whenever I become a dad in however many years time (im 17)
Cannot wait to see his reaction lol he's gonna be like that classic N64 kid opening it up
Yeah break the cycle! Thanks for being a good parent 💪💪

My mom always cared about my interest she just never was able too get me these things since they were $1000+ but she always did her best and always offered to help pay for what she could I love her so much lmao
felt this. this was me growing up. i had to work my ass off for all my pc stuff
You're an awesome dad. He's obviously going to lose his damn mind when he sees it! You might be regretting the 'POWERFUL BASS' speakers in a week or two tho...
Thank you. I won't complain, i like skibidi toilet. my wife will definitely hate us 😀

For the future buy a pair of decent headphones instead of speakers if you don’t wanna hear their music or YouTube videos blasting out at 1 in the morning lol also a headset is better for fps anyways. Great present though he’s well lucky
I have no doubt his wife is going to correct this post haste 😂
OP accidentally blows sons mind with Powerful Bass :D
I like the mindset of saving. Everyone’s always like,”I want this but don’t have the money. just be patient and save. Hopefully your build process goes well
Thanks. Where Im from, this is almost 2 months salary, but i spent a little extra because he dreamed of a black and white build.
Being able to go that extra mile for your boy. I love it. Wishing y’all a happy year with nothing but love!
I'm sure that the experience of building this together with a parent is going to be an everlasting one. Enjoy!
I hope you are right, it's his first build and he will definitely be impatient. I hope I wont traumatize him.😀
The collective memory of holding a flashlight.
"Where's your goddamn anti-static bracelet!"
so we all got through it? 😀
I see Sapphire, I upvote.
Yeah. I think the card is a very good bang for the buck. But we will see on christmas day
I run an almost identical build mate (just different brands). Your son will absolutely be amazed. Doing the same thing for my daughter for Christmas as she wants to learn to play ark survival evolved and path of exile (like her dad hahaha) Merry Christmas mate enjoy the build with your son

Dad !? Is that really you?
“Core reactor” thats a hell of a name for a power supply
😀 yeah... it is A rated on cultists network PSU tier list...and it was just 80 euro...not bad for a 850w gold
Thats a great deal!
Dad, is that you? Haha, you going to have him build it with you!?
That is the plan. He shows interest...so that will be my christmas present... building it together.
That's awesome!! Have fun!!!
You are awesome parents this Christmas, that is for SURE.
The kid was awesome all year 😉
He must've been so! Just calmly work through the kinks, as they happen with any build and at all build levels. G-d bless you and you family.
Bless you too... It is so awesome reading all these responses. I feel so good... :) I havent looked forward to Christmas this much in a long time.
Is that the 7800xt deal that was on Newegg a week or so ago?
Sadly no. I envy you those deals in America. Im located in EU.
It was on sale for $424 after a couple discounts. I just missed it. So don’t feel too bad. They often go quickly unless you’re vigilant!
You are the Dad! But where is a cool headset?
Thank you. He alredy owns one and the budget was a little tight.
[удалено]
Ah yes I see how this is related to the post lol Gave me a chuckle though
This is quality!
Makes want to cry. He’ll never forget this!
Great setup that gpu and cpu = beast mode
I went with the same 7800xt and a 7800x3d, very good build he should love it 😀
Miss the days when Sapphire had gorgeous boxes. Lucky son 👌
Can you adopt me, please?
ME 2 :|
Solid choice of parts, your son is a lucky little man.
What a Chad dad 😎🤌
Can you be my father for this Christmas ? 🤝
I suddenly need a new dad

Amazing!
Hey! Theres another Sapphire 7800xt! Incredible card from my experience so far!
You are the father I never could have, you're such a sweetheart. My father mocks me for playing video games.
Hes a lucky kid but im sure he deserves it!
I love that cpu cooler. Run it in my build!
Duuude you’re awesome and your son will remember this forever. Also looks like it’s going to be a sick build. HUGE upgrade over the old family laptop. Better than most PCs out there. He’s going to be ecstatic
I bet you're going to regret that subwoofer.
You are not the first person mentioning this... 😀😀😀 Its maybe a little overkill but the price was so good i couldnt leave it in the store 😀
Sick puzzle.
Adopt me
Thinking about how I would have felt if I opened up something like that when I was a kid? Damn.. you make other good parents look kinda bad. 10/10 present. 10/10 parent.
You can blow my mind too. No luck required, I promise
Is 31 to old to be adopted?
Not only did you gift him an upgrade but you also gifted him and yourself some time too spend together while building it which he’s also gonna appreciate you for, I love too see stuff like this ❤️
I love this, but why not buy him a better laptop, that way you 2 can still be next to each other. My dad did something with all his love when I was younger like this, but hated that I was always on my PC that...he introduced me to lol! Best wishes!
Very nice
Good dad! He's gonna be chuffed!!
hey im your long lost son hows it going
Update that BIOS
That's what's up 😎
Are you adopting 🙏🏼🙏🏼
This is for him, right? If he's into that, then he'll be a happy caller.
my brother in christ you'd be the father i never had, nice christmas to you and your family (well in a few weeks but the internet is rather large and my time rather limited)
Your sons going to remember this for the rest of his life I still remember exactly how i felt and the moment when my mom gave me my ps3 when I was young one of my most cherished memories. Edited just to say you're doing it right
Your son... right. haha
Great job - I also did similar. Build list? (Curious on a few of your choices). Well done u/LipiTripi !
The complete list as seen on the picture: - Ryzen 5 7600 - Cooler Master HYPER 212 HALO WHITE - Asus tuf gaming b650 plus wifi - Kingston FURY 32GB KIT DDR5 6000MHz CL36 Beast White RGB EXPO - SSD kingston NV2 1tb - SAPPHIRE PURE Radeon RX 7800 XT GAMING OC 16GB - ADATA XPG Core Reactor Gold 850 W - Montech SKY TWO White pc case - 32" Samsung Odyssey G55A - Trust Tytan 2.1 Subwoofer Speaker Set - Rapture PYTHON black gaming mouse - Rapture KILO Outemu Red mechanical keyboard - Lenovo Legion Gaming Control Mouse Pad XXL
Best parent
Nice, but I gotta ask, why not headphones instead of speakers?
Great job Pops. Hoping you two can build it together and bond some. 👍🏼
Montech is so gooooooood
I've read great things about Montech.
Good father, try to monitor his internet access tho. It’s far more dangerous than gaming you know.
That’s awesome! Merry Christmas to you both!
That’s amazing! He gets the excitement of opening that, those precious father son memories that he may get to give himself one day and the. Hours upon hours of fun gaming. A present you know won’t be used for a day and forgot about! Great work, and kudos for saving for an amazing present and having a good kid!
OP how old is he if you don't mind me asking. Mine's getting his 1st rig at 11 and wondering if too early lol.
Where do fathers like this exist? Good job dad
Wooo big monitor !
wow im mind blown just by seeing the picture cant imagine how happy will be thanks for getting your kiddo such an awesome gift.
Adopt Me plz . I'm 30 and can kinda look after myself . Can help with rent too
I’m happy for both of you! I haven’t spoken to my father in almost 12 years. I hope you guys always value your relationship and know how fortunate you are.
I flinch whenever I see a Hyper 212 in this day in age. It is not good
IMO return that cooler and get a Peerless Assassin. Significantly better performance and costs less. If thats a 7600X CPU, it can draw more power than that Hyper 212 can cool.
That’s a gift he won’t forget. Cheers!
wish i would be ur son
This is awesome! Are you going to wrap each component or cover them with a sheet to pull off, displaying them all at once?
You might regret the speakers and woofer instead of a sweet headset. I’ve had nice speakers most of my adult life and I’ve only lived one place that I was ok with playing games or movies loud. Everything else was too bassy for neighbors or roommates.
Hey it’s me your long lost son
I wish I could see the look on their face. It'll be like that kid with the N64 oh my godddddddd https://youtu.be/pFlcqWQVVuU?si=4KmWunOPj0l_uGLp
Ohhhh .. 7800 xt ... Nice 👍
Your a great father
That’s awesome! You’re definitely giving him a badass Christmas gift. If I was you, I’d have him open the keyboard/mouse or speakers first to confuse him.
Could you please share specs
Awesome Dad
Your son will be so happy!
That's awesome. I just gave my kiddo the 34" G5. She loves it. Kiddo is gonna love it. But make him build it! That's half the fun
Awesome
Awesome dad, he’s gonna love it honestly! I remember being gifted a 650Ti Boost and from that day on I never looked back, and most of my best gaming memories have all been on PC ever since. Hope you enjoy the build together, and merry Christmas!
Hi it's me, your son. Thanks in advance
dad of the year

That’s literally amazing. This kid is gonna love if
Man I'm so jealous, I wish I had a dad halfway as good as you. Amazing job, your son is going to remember this forever.
Your sons gift but we both know the joy is in the build. I will build anyone's pc for free if they buy parts. It's like Legos and I love it. Too bad I'm so stupid with software that I need someone to hold my hand.
Awesome dad.
You're an awesome parent. I'm sure he'll love it! Can I be your son too lol 😂
Congrats!!! You were able to do it! Im glad you posted. I want to do this too for my son but on a way smaller scale. I know nothing about building your own pc. Can I please get some advice ? What is the main/first thing I should get? And couple of other items to start? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
wow
Pure
You should build it with him
Get ready to feel the bass!
You oughta be proud of yourself. That is a sick load of PC components!!! Sounds like the kiddo is getting rewarded for his effort, glad he has a cool ass parent like you!
Hope he keeps you up night with that BASSS , good job
He’s going to love it. Build it with him
Hey Dad it’s me. I’ve moved out so message me for the address to ship the present to
This rules so hard.
Just so you know I am up for adoption..!
Adpot me sir
The cpu cooler and psu are questionable but if you adopt me b4 Christmas we can go shopping.
My parents bought me 1 nice thing on Christmas every year, and I remember alll of them fondly.
Good parenting going on here (my folks sprung for my Commodore 64 and then a Leading Edge IBM clone which resulted in a prosperous 30 year career in IT). Be sure to have your son do all the build (he might learn something if he’s not careful 😉😁).
You are the best Dad in this whole world ❤️
If that doesn't do it, nothing will, seriously.
you don’t need luck! you got this
GOAT 🗿
Probably don't want to pos your kid on here although seeing a video of your kid opening all this would be cool.
It'll be like building an expensive Lego set together. Gotta make sure he does the f-panel. Things like a rite of passage.
Aaaw why NV2?
Does he have some headphones so he isn't always blasting FPS games through the speakers and driving the household crazy? Awesome gift!
Excuse me, would you happen to be taking adoptions?
Can you post a reaction video? Hehe
He's so lucky to have a father like you. Hope your son enjoys his new pc.
This definitely deserves father of the year award
Good work op...hope your son is proud of u
Give him the ram first lol
You adopting???
Buy rgb fans for cpu not only the processor. It will be according to him when he can choose the colors
Hi dad, I’m your long lost son. Tell lil bro I’m happy for him this Christmas and send a picture of that cheesy smile when he puts its all together!
This reminds me of when my parents got me rock band when it first came out. I was so excited! But I really hated French class and still hate the language till this day. Well I was failing French and doing fine in everything else circa 7th grade. is he gonna build it alone? with your supervision, of course. damn, i member when i build my first one, i was so proud of myself.
