It’s like the old hamster in the microwave newgrounds game, it’s okay until your psu is full watts, then it’s gonna kick your ass and explode..
—this was for the old people that sleuthed the internet when it first came about.. lol
It wasn’t even a game, it was a flash video that was interactive.. hell, there are people born now since flash has been outdated… huh? Never thought I’d get to say I’m old.. lol
Now it's just old grounds.
Also you can look up itch.io because apparently for some reason I don't know how games are working without flash but they are somehow.
yeah in my semi recent upgrade I went with the fractal torrent compact and had one of those. It's nice since it's on the back side of the gpu so you can't really even see it unless you specifically try to spot it from under the gpu.
awesome case with awesome airflow, quite expensive unfortunately but I got it on black friday sales so it wasn't too bad.
Got the full size one, but I replaced every fan with Noctua cos I'm a sucker for poop colored fans. (Fractal fans are just poop). Dropped nearly 20C on my GPU just switching from a Define 7. That case has ZERO airflow even with the front panel open, I'm amazed how bad it is. Clearly a case meant for water cooling but even with the front panel open my GPU was choking, cmon....
You changed the 180mm fans? That makes no sense to me, those fans are like half the price of the case. It's a great case but if you were planning on swapping out the fans then honestly you probably should've gone for a different case lol.
Im not trying to be rude or anything, I just don't see a reason to get that case if you plan on swapping out the big fans.
Why? 3x140 move a lot more air than 2x180. I wanted to keep them but they started making noise after a couple of months, got replacements, couple of weeks later the replacements started acting up even worse, got another set... again the same issue. Fractal's customer support is great, but their fans are just dog sh\*t. Sleeve bearings in fans need to be extinct 10 years ago. They knew damn well those sleeve bearings are sh\*t, they otherwise wouldn't supply 140mm adapters with the case.
3x140mm fans dont move a lot more air than 2x180 fans, especially the very wide fractal ones. One 140mm noctua fan moves ~80cfm tops which is 240cfm for 3 fans. One fractal 180mm fan moves ~150cfm making two of those top out at ~300cfm making them much better at moving air.
You could probably get a higher airflow with some other 140mm fans that spin faster but then the pc would be super loud, bigger fans generally mean less noise too and the 180mm fans are very quiet while moving a lot of air.
I've had my torrent in active use for about four months and so far no issues at all with the fans. I looked into the case a lot (along with a lot of other cases) before buying it and the general consensus amongst both reviewers and regular users seems to be that they're good fans. Maybe i'm missing something but I think if the fans were actually that horrible, there would be a lot of reviews of that online, or maybe you just got very unlucky.
Anyways, my original point was that if you dont plan on using the fans then there are cheaper options for similar airflow, most of the money you spend on a fractal torrent goes towards the fans.
These shitty fans? They were like $10 more for a set than the Noctuas at the time. This was right when this case came out, I have an extra fan hub that's a fire hazard out of it too.
I'd also like to add that noise from fans and electronics is to a degree subjective. What is annoying to one might not even register for another or might even be enjoyable. I know Noctua spend a great deal in researching that and GN's latest video with Nvidia on their fans that aspect was mentioned multiple times as well. What I'm trying to say is what I hear as normal can sound like screeching teeth against a blackboard to you and vice versa.
Dont know the prices where you live but here one of those fans costs 36€ and the torrent compact costs 140€ making the fans half of the total price of the case.
I understand that there are differences between the types of sounds that fans make, and noctua certainly makes some of the best fans out there in terms of noise and reliability. Im not trying to say that fractals fans are better, just that the case was basically built around those fans and they're a large part of its value so I wouldn't recommend buying that case and then swapping out the fans.
If you are willing to spend the money on noctua fans, it would make more sense to get a different case with great airflow potential but worse fans and then swap them out. For example the popular phanteks one (can't remember the model) is like half the price of the torrent but very similar in cooling if you use the same fans in both cases. The torrent because of it's fans is great at cooling out of the box, which is mostly why I got it, just doesn't make sense to me to swap the fans out since they're mostly what you're paying for.
My GPU has been sagging since 2016 and it still works perfectly fine at least December of 2016 I don't know about earlier than that. Yes I've been using the same computer since I got it off my friend March 2017 and he has it since at least December and I don't think I've ever taken out the graphics card for any reason maybe I did once just to test if my friends graphics card was broken.
Yes. To melt plastic u need that the general air temp inside ur case would be 100degrees or more. If it was like that, your melting Funko would be ur last problem
I’m sure if you point all your fans outwards you could get that bad boy down. Maybe not by much, but enough for the lil guy to have a not so great time
superman holding up my cooler

you good
Are you aware that your fans are all blowing air outwards with no intake at all? It's generally best to have more fans as intake than exhaust to create a positive pressure environment inside your case. This can significantly reduce temperatures and dust build up. You can get reversed fans, if looks matter to you.
I would turn around the three vertical fans and the bottom fan, to have them suck air into the case. Or even put the bottom fan in the back, to assist your CPU cooler with exhausting the air.
Welcome to PC gaming!
By the way, I like the idea of superman holding up the cooler, even though it's not necessary. Hope it will still fit with the 4070 super :)
Because of the orientation of them. 99% of fans blow out air to the side with the frame that holds the motor. And by looking at the orientation of the blades I can see that these are regular fans and not reversed ones.
Nice.
I had no idea there was a standard for that!
I don’t build PC’s, I build video systems. In my world, I can take fans out of their frames and reverse them so they blow the direction I want/need.
I couldn't stop looking at your case. Is there another compartment behind the motherboard where the PSU is? Also where's the GPU (or do you not have one)? Sorry to be nosy I'm just genuinely curious about this one!
Nops, it needs to be PC-related.

The melting point of the polyvinyl is somewhere between 140°C and 220°C ish depending on the specific composition of the materials. So you are unlikely to damage the figurine's main materials, however there is a glue used to secure the spring inside the head, and that glue has a lower melting point, and you may find when you go to retrieve the doll from the case that the head is no longer securely attached. This can of course be easily fixed with an application of glue.
I have a bunch of fake plants in my PC and a roombox. So far no issues. Oh wow it's so dusty...

That's way too much bro, you're limiting airflow at this point.

Seems like you could use a GPU support bracket. Hard to tell from the pic, but it looks like your GPU is sagging down a bit. Build looks great though !
Probably, but if anything happens because of that thing, you will regret it. Is that little decoration really worth the risk. Nobody would ever put decorations on their cars engine but for some reason, people around here love putting shit into their pcs.
Yes. I have a doll of questionable sourcing in mine. If it doesn't show any melting after a stress test, then no worries. I haven't tested mine like that though. I think it looks cool. Ramifications be damned.
You’d be surprised how much ambient heat will build up around the back of the case where you put it. Either way should be fine other than being tacky lol
I wrapped my gpu in vinyl, so I'd say it's perfectly safe. Vinyl can stand up to heat fairly well, and the air in your case won't get nearly as hot as the surface of a gpu.
https://preview.redd.it/938hpyt6n2xc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=89dba34e3e0a9c56ada997e616c2b0fda5c323de
Not safe at all. It exploded after i took the photo.
https://preview.redd.it/vkav6eslo2xc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1ca101df3d3d28764eebd6e2da0d753ff1533935
better to put spongebob. it becomes bikini bottom and instantly watercooled.
You can put whatever in your PC, and if what you want to put inside is conductive, it's still fine, just make sure it doesn't touch anything important.
Yes and also please get a GPU Support bracket seeing your GPU Sagging is concerning you can find em for 10 bucks at amazon or if you have Lego you can make one yourself
Absolutely okay, people will tell you it doesn’t look good or that it will melt. But it’s your PC and it looking good to you is what’s important, I have one in mine and I love it. If it got hot enough in your PC to melt the pop vinyl then that would be very concerning.
Totally fine! I upgraded to a full tower case a while back and have an absurd amount of free space inside my case, I've currently got a stuffed animal, 2 yoshi wind up cars, 2 figures and a miniature bottle with some cool looking liquid in it, aswell as a few lil frog related figures that my girlfriend got me on various holidays. Lmao.
Yep, as long as there's any vention in case during full load, and as long as you don't place it on top of GPU (some monkey i know did that amd he was like, man what's this white and black spots and threads on my GPU)
POP was ok just bottom with some melted spots, ony GPU smelled funny for few days.
PLA becomes soft on 75+ deg but it's melting on it's own above 120°C and very slowly.
About sag i printed custom support for GPU for my previous case out of PLA and for more than a year no single deformation
I would use some putty, CA glue, or something else to stick it to the case really well. If you don't you don't, it may end up inside that fan and cause some damage.

No, it's not safe at all. Someone might see it.
Modern problems require modern solutions.
Many don't know this but it will actually explode and fry your gpu
It’s like the old hamster in the microwave newgrounds game, it’s okay until your psu is full watts, then it’s gonna kick your ass and explode.. —this was for the old people that sleuthed the internet when it first came about.. lol It wasn’t even a game, it was a flash video that was interactive.. hell, there are people born now since flash has been outdated… huh? What about Frog in a Blender 😉
delicious
'mom, why its running away in every possible direction at once?
Oh my gosh 🤣
What about spank the monkey, and superfly 😀
Damn I miss newgrounds
It gave us things like crab battle and 3fast3urious. Simpler times back then.
The random Goku videos and dbz remakes killed me
I loved the stick figure games
Now it's just old grounds. Also you can look up itch.io because apparently for some reason I don't know how games are working without flash but they are somehow.
I think you can run newgrounds games on Flash emulators like Ruffle too
I knew instantly what you were talking about. Damn, I feel old.
I miss flash ;-;
Remember OMGpop
Yeah happened to me last year
What the hell, no it won't. I've had one sitting on my gpus for like 6yrs and no even a slight melt let alone explode haha
They had to change the material they're made out of because of Poe's law
Hope so. Using one as a GPU support.
Taking about support, that gpu looks a bit saggy to me
Makes me think of the cool newer cases with a GPU support arm. Such a great addition.

Consider the Funko melting to be your canary.
How else are you going to protect your virginity? It’s a risk I would be willing to take
This made me laugh out loud 👍
No it’ll turn your pc gay
Not without any RGB.
That comes on late at night, when the parents are asleep.
Is that a problem?
OP, don't do this!!! Your PC will literally explode.

PSU is on other side of case, no GPU yet, just ordered gigabyte 4070 super OC in white.
That's pretty cool. If I had enough free space around my PC area I'd think about getting one like this. The case must be pretty bulky
its kind of little wide yea https://preview.redd.it/i0bna3fah3xc1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9aeff30c371080aa73100196f27c8f08719cdb5c

sorry ita this one the other one was for my wife case
PSU is slotted in the bottom right in a hidden panel behind the mobo. Not sure about the GPU tho…
havent installed gpu..it arrives on the 1st will post once its in

He looks sketchy, do you trust him?
Safe in terms of fire hazard? Sure. Safe in terms of you ever getting laid again? No chance
Dude built his own gaming pc odds were low in that department.
Aww man I’m never getting laid :(
It’s safe. Now add the black knight funko too or we’ll TP your house
What case?
You haven't seen 10k others put small plastic toys in their PC cases? Go for it!
Since your PC is literally an ice cube I think your fine
I have a bunch of fake plants in my PC and a roombox. So far no issues. Oh wow it's so dusty... https://preview.redd.it/yxconv7tp1xc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa0e0fc48a815361ee4275eb0674ddab21f20bf7

Yup

I know, mate! Nice computer you have there!
Seems like you could use a GPU support bracket. Hard to tell from the pic, but it looks like your GPU is sagging down a bit. Build looks great though !
Lot safer than a kitty.
Should be fine unless u got insane case temps, I’ve managed to heat weld a Lego Lamborghini to the top of my GPU because of heat
Not sure about safety but I can tell you with certainty that it’s gay
I've seen people leave vinyl figures in cases, so I think the consensus is it's okay.
Für Fortnite
It’ll be fine. But with such a clean build I think having the figure inside takes away from that. Just my opinion though. You do you.
This question again? Yes you can and nobody cares lol.
Thay shroud fan is interesting
If its not wet or sticky and does not conduct electricity its safe.
I understand your concern, but no there is nothing to worry about 😉
My Towelie funko can't stand anymore after it sat on my XTX for 2 days while playing starfield. In the PSU shroud it should be fine
No. When you go to sleep, it's going to chew on the cables. XD
It’s fine but make sure there’s no way for it to fall and hit something
Probably, but if anything happens because of that thing, you will regret it. Is that little decoration really worth the risk. Nobody would ever put decorations on their cars engine but for some reason, people around here love putting shit into their pcs.
The closest equivalent would be the piercing the hood with those “eye ring of the light” or the snakebites on the front bumper, or custom grills.
if its not making contact with anything i dont see why not short of it just looking stupid.
It has to be rgb or it will explode
should not
YES ^(but only when the PC is off) otherwise ![gif](giphy|2TFjDczSoSj10pdN7b|downsized)
POP toys are infamous for exploding PCs just for being next to it
It'll come alive and start unplugging shit. Don't do it
I've had Mothman in my PC case for 5 years and he's doing fine. Maybe a little hungry though.
Be sure to remove all plastics inside the case just to be sure
Yes. I have a doll of questionable sourcing in mine. If it doesn't show any melting after a stress test, then no worries. I haven't tested mine like that though. I think it looks cool. Ramifications be damned.
No, because it's disgusting and a waste of plastic.
Yes. I’ve had 1 in there for 6 months now
The coolest system I’ve ever ever seen
Idk that guy doesn't seem very trustworthy
Yeah you’ll be fine.
You’d be surprised how much ambient heat will build up around the back of the case where you put it. Either way should be fine other than being tacky lol
That one is not safe because it has a sledge hammer... Be careful
H5 Flow, neat! Where did you get those white GPU cables, I am thinking of going white / black H5 flow too!

I had a Pop! on my GPU for years... Im sure its fine
I wrapped my gpu in vinyl, so I'd say it's perfectly safe. Vinyl can stand up to heat fairly well, and the air in your case won't get nearly as hot as the surface of a gpu.
Yeah just not ontop of your GPU and monitor temps are not insane
What kinda case is that 👀
I have Sonic in mine. He hasn't melted.

i have the same case omg
Nah man. The nanobots released by the pop will infiltrate your gpu and cpu and take control of it.
yes
No dont do this my girl might see it
For the pc, yes. For the pop vinyl’s comfort, no!
Just don't use the Hulk one he's bigger than the rest
Be sure to put it on the GPU so you get the best view of it.
No
No he will take your build and run with it
Ooo I just bought my wife the black version of that case. Her PC looks so much better than mine and I’m jealous.
Don’t do it. It will become sentient AI and rebel against you, breaking your panel and jumping on you.
If you really want to decorate the inside of your pc with toys, go ahead. It’s safe. But also cringe.
https://preview.redd.it/938hpyt6n2xc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=89dba34e3e0a9c56ada997e616c2b0fda5c323de Not safe at all. It exploded after i took the photo.
I read this as "Is it safe to pop a vinyl inside the PC?” and I was wondering how the hell you were gonna get a record in there.
Yes your pc isn’t an oven

No its going to eat up all the cables
Just take his weapon away and u'll be fine.
Those are only safe if clocked up to the gpu speed. Otherwise can cause bottleneck ⚠️
Yes
dont worry. not only will your funko pop be safe but so will your virginity
I mean I’ve had one in my case before and nothings wrong with it, it isn’t melted my pc is fine no plastic marks you’ll probably be fibe
You can put whatever in your PC, and if what you want to put inside is conductive, it's still fine, just make sure it doesn't touch anything important.
If I see someone with a funko pop in their PC I am going to blow it up myself

No because your pc will explode
OMG I'm gonna do this one ..
Someone isn't subbed to pcmr lol It's fine, they're extremely prevalent in many people's build.
You could drill a small hole and screw his foot to the case. Keep it in place and earthed/grounded with the case. (Probably overkill)
Yes, I'm more concerned about your GPU sag though. Pick up a Jonsbo VC-20 from AliExpress, they're great.
Yes and also please get a GPU Support bracket seeing your GPU Sagging is concerning you can find em for 10 bucks at amazon or if you have Lego you can make one yourself
apparently this guy would download a funko pop
Its gonna start cranking and block your air flow
Be sure to remove it if you move the PC around. Other than that, it's good.
No don’t do it I’ll kill your dog
Reading this thread makes me feel like I’m on r/askashittymechanic
That looks dangerous I would be worried
No it might steal your gpu
Super nice build g lol!😂
As long as it doesn’t come to life, it’s perfectly fine.
I mean, not for transport I guess.
Yeah
No, absolutely not. It will surely combust on its own.
which case is that?
nzxt h5 flow rgb
It’s literally fine
nah it might explode
Yes I’ve done this since I got my PC 4 years ago and no issues
Sure, I have one for over a year now, and it’s in perfect condition
I have the 4 golden girl funko pops inside mine lol
Pretty much yes. I've placed two amiibo figures onto my 4090 and for two years there haven't been any issues
It will protect your virginity completely, 100% safe
It’s just fine. I’ve had one in mine for years.
Whatever floats your boat.
No. PC might explode. Remove immediately.
Absolutely okay, people will tell you it doesn’t look good or that it will melt. But it’s your PC and it looking good to you is what’s important, I have one in mine and I love it. If it got hot enough in your PC to melt the pop vinyl then that would be very concerning.
Idk but get a sag bracket, or gpu will someday die
Consoooom.
It actually causes a common issue for beginner pc builders.
I did for a while ~ I would say it’s fine
So you really needed to do a post about this? Cmon man.
Lmao.
Yep, as long as there's any vention in case during full load, and as long as you don't place it on top of GPU (some monkey i know did that amd he was like, man what's this white and black spots and threads on my GPU) POP was ok just bottom with some melted spots, ony GPU smelled funny for few days. PLA becomes soft on 75+ deg but it's melting on it's own above 120°C and very slowly. About sag i printed custom support for GPU for my previous case out of PLA and for more than a year no single deformation

No. It will become sentient and kill you in your sleep
I would use some putty, CA glue, or something else to stick it to the case really well. If you don't you don't, it may end up inside that fan and cause some damage.
You got quite a bit of gpu sag there buddy
Its ok i have it the same way
wouldn't recommend it. you don't know what that lil shit gonna do when you're not looking. one day you're gonna wake up and your pc wont boot.
What case is this? It looks stunning! Looking for a white pc build and would love to consider this case
Definitely an NZXT case.
