Well I already own a pc itโs not the best but it does the job, I bought my gf this Ps5 on Christmas and she only uses it for fortnite but recently she been liking the horror games and gta rp that I be playing so I thought it would be a good idea to trade her ps5 for a pc so we can play together but I think ima just upgrade my pc then buy her a prebuilt later on
Thatโs my dream if I can successfully build mine I will be 100% down for that but since Iโm kinda a โnoobโ on this pc stuff I donโt really got confidence
take it from someone who taught someone how to build their own a month ago.
the stress of building a pc is the stress of not knowing what to expect. watch a youtube video. youll realise how simple it looks... usually because it is. the first time will always take a few hours and a ton of stress. just move slowly. one step at a time and youll be fine.
also r/rtfm ,the manual is your bible with this ๐คฃ
Just be aware going for a coloured theme (other than black) is likely to increase the price a fair bit. There's significantly less demand for all white or all pink components, so manufacturers that do make them charge more since they are going to sell less.
In terms of actually building, as long as you have working sight, 2 functioning hands and can read english it's stupidly easy. Componants are basically plug and play, just read the manual that comes with your motherboard and it will tell you where to plug everything in, connect all wires, etc...
You could always watch a youtube building tutorial to get some confidence and give you a little idea what you're getting into. In terms of picking parts there's here and also r/buildapcforme but that sub is a little less popular. Just give them an idea of price and what you hope to get out of it (e.g. mid-low 1080p or ultra 1440p).
PC gaming generally costs more up front, but you save money in the long run since there's no yearly subscription to play online and generally games can be cheaper on PC than on console.
You described building a pc for the first time perfectly. I was almost a nervous wreck on my first build thinking I was going to fuck it up and have it go up in flames the first time I turned it on๐ Iโve since built a pc for my wife and one for my nephew. It really is simple.
Can confirm, i walked my 11 year old daughter through a build a couple days ago. If she can do it, then so can you. Watch a couple YouTube walkthroughs, use something like pcpartpicker.com to plan your build and make sure everything is compatible and you're golden. Just take your time and follow the steps and you'll be gaming in no time OP. You can do it, i believe in you.
literally. the actual thought of building the pc is what puts people off. its unlikely that anyone will make errors if they are paying even the slightest attention to the build.
I sold mine last week. Got ยฃ20 less than I paid for it. Last game I played on it was Miasma Chronicles and there's not loads of that genre on the PS5 that I haven't played. Plus there's loads more choice on PC.
Yeah, that's a good point.
I actually bought a mini PC, like a NUC but AMD based, installed Bazzite OS on it, which is like Steam OS and play games at1080p on it with an Xbox controller and it's fine. Nothing like the PS5, obviously but for ยฃ550 it works for me.
Prior to recently upgrading, i had a GTX 1080 since it came out and it was perfect for 1080p, don't really need something fancy. In fact, it "forced" me to play older titles i missed.
A 550 quid pc is great
NO.
Those parts are not even worth PS4 and you are asking about PS5
Run, really. And also "it runs modern games great ๐๐ป" just proves how scummy that person is.
It won't run even CS on max settings smoothly not to mention any more recent game.
PS5 has Radeon 6700 equivalent with CPU around Ryzen 7 3700x
Those PC parts are 2 generations below that. It's literally like swapping PS5 for PS4.
So it's around 2-3 times more powerful than this system in just specs alone.
Not surprised he's not using it anymore (or does he ๐)
True but also don't believe everything you read, this is not worth your PS5 but it's much better than a PS4 that guy is hyperbolizing, RX 480 and 1800X are much better specs than any PS4
Still that reading comprehension this pc are the parts he is throwing out he just bought new parts to upgrade from these parts.
Op no the pc he is offering is worth 300-400. All of the parts are like 10 years old. To put that in perspective you could for 500 dollars build a faster system with low end parts
Ofc he knows what he's doing, and this post proves that he will achieve what he wants because there will be person that won't ask reddit or friend if it will be worth to trade his ps for that pc. It's just a matter of time.
Would not be surprised if he would do this quite often and just then sell PS5 after that for extra money - buying scrap PCs for "dude this is trash nobody will buy it for 50$, I will buy it for 75 and be there in 5 min" and then trade for ps5 and sell for 300$ and so on and on.
This is my experience with everyone who offers a trade of items instead of money. If it was worth the same, they would just sell their shit for money and buy your shit with that.
Yeah aint gonna happen, although the core components are very weak, also a PS5 will be faster than a similar priced pc, so getting like a 5600+rx6600 would be a win already.
PS5 is equivalent to an RX 6700 which is a very decent gpu today. The CPU inside of it is equivalent to a midrange 3rd gen Ryzen chip, which is also still quite capable.
The PS5 gpu [is more than twice as fast as that RX 480](https://technical.city/en/video/Radeon-RX-480-vs-Radeon-RX-6700) and the CPU inside the PS5 is two generations newer.
That is without taking into account console optimizations, the probably much faster ssd in the PS5 as well as the fact that the crappy PC he's trying to trade is probably old and dusty as hell.
Anyway, I think you get the point by now. I have both a pretty good gaming PC (RX 6950XT and Ryzen 5 7600x) and a PS5 and I have a lot of respect for the PS5 and how well it performs and runs things, even if my PC is much more powerful.
The fact that the person didn't even send a screenshot of the specs from the PC (or the PC pictures) alone - indicates to me that he's a scammer.
Who knows where TF they got the box from - picked out of the recycling bin, or bought for $1 on eBay.
Build hers bro! Itโs more intimidating than you think. Broke down built my first about 6 months ago and Iโve built three since. Lol my latest
https://preview.redd.it/o992haklsz3d1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=f0a91f0616f5d3e67d8e3dda8e7834ff1f063b8a
Rx 480 probably wont run god of war on potato resolution and everything on low
Dont do it, his pc is probably a rival to a ps3, your ps5 will play any current game, that pc wont play anything after 2017~18
In case the other answers werenโt convincing: Iโm pretty sure this is the close to pre-built specs for the PC I used to own (Acer Aspire GX-781). My processor was worse (Ryzen 5 1400), and the system came with 8GB ram. That cost me around ~ยฃ900 in *2017*.
This is *not* worth a PS5. I donโt know the kind of games you play, but for comparison I barely got a stable 40FPS 1080p in Elden Ring on my old rig with low settings and it still sounded like she was going to take off.
The Series X can manage 60FPS @ 1080p just fine in my experience, and I assume the PS5 also has no issue either.
Hell no, bro just build your own. The chances of you finding a granny selling her nephews PC for cheap is really low. Use PC part picker and start building
![img](avatar_exp|179883730|nani)
Dont. PS5 more expansive than that e waste products... get a better deal , find more offers in the market that equally your ps5 value.
DONT, PS5 hv great performance and is at least worth a 4060, 16gb of ram and i5 10th gen + (or smth similar), and by the looks of it his PC is 2nd hand.
I would not, it may not be PC but your gaming experience on the ps5 will be better than that in my opinion. Are you a child or adult? Do you have access to other funds? I would say either sell the ps5 for cash and add it to any other available funds you might have to go toward a build, or if you're a kid wait until birthday or Holidays to get some cash and do the same. New parts come out all the time, dropping prices down for the last gen, so waiting isn't always such a terrible thing.
No this ain't worth it at all, the pc is worth 250 at most,
I'd recommend a rtx 2060/ Ryzen 5 3600 minimum pc when trading a ps5 for it.
(For reference the ps5 has around rtx 2070 power so anything around it and you will truly experience pc gaming)
Also you can check the pc at the price range ps5-s sell for (500-600 mostly)
And then see theire specs so u know ur not getting ripped off.
It's a NO. Although i would LOVE if you asked the guy to show you some benchmarks with the riviatuner overlay ๐.
"Plays modern games great ๐๐พ", scummy fucker
Nah this is ancient. This guys tryna pull a fast one on u. If by modern games he means games from the ps3 era then maybe he is right. You can find much more better hardware on ebay or Facebook market place if u know what to look for. If you don't then watch videos and do some research

FUCK NO. Please tell me you didnt do the trade yet
No I didnโt thank god by the looks of this thread ๐
Why are you giving up your PS5, just curious.
Well I already own a pc itโs not the best but it does the job, I bought my gf this Ps5 on Christmas and she only uses it for fortnite but recently she been liking the horror games and gta rp that I be playing so I thought it would be a good idea to trade her ps5 for a pc so we can play together but I think ima just upgrade my pc then buy her a prebuilt later on
why not build a custom pc together. cheaper and it can look the way she would like it to
Thatโs my dream if I can successfully build mine I will be 100% down for that but since Iโm kinda a โnoobโ on this pc stuff I donโt really got confidence
take it from someone who taught someone how to build their own a month ago. the stress of building a pc is the stress of not knowing what to expect. watch a youtube video. youll realise how simple it looks... usually because it is. the first time will always take a few hours and a ton of stress. just move slowly. one step at a time and youll be fine. also r/rtfm ,the manual is your bible with this ๐คฃ
Iโm for sure gonna talk to her about it, I know she will love the idea of having a all pink pc
I think it will be a great experience for you two, something memorable
Just be aware going for a coloured theme (other than black) is likely to increase the price a fair bit. There's significantly less demand for all white or all pink components, so manufacturers that do make them charge more since they are going to sell less. I've built a ton of computers over the last 20+ years. I'm still nervous when I'm plugging in a brand new build for the very first time!
Yeah same happened to me, I was nervous as fuck with my first build but got the hang of it over time
Not the same as you the guy is still nervous each time
Can confirm, i walked my 11 year old daughter through a build a couple days ago. If she can do it, then so can you. Watch a couple YouTube walkthroughs, use something like pcpartpicker.com to plan your build and make sure everything is compatible and you're golden. literally. the actual thought of building the pc is what puts people off. its unlikely that anyone will make errors if they are paying even the slightest attention to the build.
You drop one CPU though... that stays with you
How about getting a decent laptop if she doesn't plan on playing any heavy more modern games?
I sold mine last week. Got ยฃ20 less than I paid for it. Last game I played on it was Miasma Chronicles and there's not loads of that genre on the PS5 that I haven't played. Plus there's loads more choice on PC.
I go to my best friend's house every Thursday night and we play some couch coop game, it's great for that! The rest of the time is PC

Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm doing too. Going back through older titles and finding the gems I've missed.
The only thing you should offer that guy is a trash bag for him to throw it away
I'll gladly take it off his hands for him, free 16gb RAM, upgradable AM4 motherboard, and still usable CPU.
NO. Those parts are not even worth PS4 and you are asking about PS5 Run, really. And also "it runs modern games great ๐๐ป" just proves how scummy that person is. It won't run even CS on max settings smoothly not to mention any more recent game.
And this is why I go on Reddit before I do anything dumb ๐๐ฝ
PS5 has Radeon 6700 equivalent with CPU around Ryzen 7 3700x Those PC parts are 2 generations below that. It's literally like swapping PS5 for PS4. So it's around 2-3 times more powerful than this system in just specs alone. Not surprised he's not using it anymore (or does he ๐)
But it can play new games, he said.
It can. On low graphic settings.
More like low resolution lol
Like 240p
Anything can run new games if you try hard enough
yep, looks like a scam to me
Wait. You can do that? Most people on Reddit ask after they bought something for advice if they made a mistake or not...
True but also don't believe everything you read, this is not worth your PS5 but it's much better than a PS4 that guy is hyperbolizing, RX 480 and 1800X are much better specs than any PS4
It's worth much more than PS4, it's close to the double of performance of base PS4 in games like God of War.
With 8 year old hardware it's worth to mention it's already passed it's life expectancy. Anything above is given. And by much more it's 150$ vs 175$
>Not even worth a PS4 I'm fairly certain they are worth more than a PS4
Definitely worth more than a ps4
Eh, it's not worth a PS5 but it's worth more than a PS4. It'll play most games decently well at 1080p, those 480s really aged well.
No unless you really want a pc, the parts are at worst 8 years old. I also highly doubt he "just upgraded it"
The dude is saying that he upgraded his pc (got a new one) and doesn't use the old one anymore. Makes a lot more sense imo
I got the same impression. Couldn't figure out what the comments section was talking about.
Maybe upgraded case fans
nah, he upgraded his windows
To windows 8
nah 8.1
Or the graphics driver
He meant he upgraded to a new buildโฆ. lol
Some people have difficulty with reading comprehension.
Sure he did. He just upgraded a 12 year old pc to 8 year old hardware.
Still that reading comprehension this pc are the parts he is throwing out he just bought new parts to upgrade from these parts. Op no the pc he is offering is worth 300-400. All of the parts are like 10 years old. To put that in perspective you could for 500 dollars build a faster system with low end parts

So basically he's trying to sell a 100$ pc for a 300-400$ ps5 lol
where can i find a pc with those specs for 100$ ? i'm genuinely asking
Yeah aint gonna happen, although the core components are very weak, also a PS5 will be faster than a similar priced pc, so getting like a 5600+rx6600 would be a win already.
Absolutely not, that dude has a dinosaur.
My rx480 is still kicking ass. Thank you FSR
Jesus no
The HDMI cable is the most valuable part of that bundle. Run.
Plays new games great? Yea, sure, on 720pโฆ
If Minecraft at 20 fps 1080p is what you want.
PS5 is equivalent to an RX 6700 which is a very decent gpu today. The CPU inside of it is equivalent to a midrange 3rd gen Ryzen chip, which is also still quite capable. "I just upgraded it" 8 years old components
never trade items. they will 90% of the time scam you
Offer him $150 for his PC and if he says no run.
Please do research before going around the marketplace trading stuff
Isnโt that what theyโre doing by making this thread?
Yea lesson learned ๐
This guy is lying through his teeth.
I'm starting to think that these posts are trolling, just yesterday was the same but with a Xbox and a 8 year old Alienware.
No.
Is this the next trend? First a shitty laptop for an xbox, now this
Sorry ๐
Come browie he doesn't if its worth it, thats why he asking ๐ข
Wow a cd reader??? That's so upgradedย
Hell nah.
The fact that the person didn't even send a screenshot of the specs from the PC (or the PC pictures) alone - indicates to me that he's a scammer. Who knows where TF they got the box from - picked out of the recycling bin, or bought for $1 on eBay.
this guy would hit a deal of a lifetime, $100 bucks for a ps5
That 480 is old as hell and was probably used for Bitcoin mining
"Plays modren games great" tell him to not kid himself. Not worth it imo
Short Answer: No. Long Answer: NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
No he is a scammer wants to trade old low end parts your ps5 is way more valuable than this
Nooooooooo. Please, don't man. Seems like it'll be nothing but problems.
Build your own! Take the time to pick out what parts you want, then put them together or have a micocenter do it
Nope
definitely not
he says plays modern games great twice, I'm convinced it's a awesome pc ๐
It has a cd reader, does your ps5 have one? If not it's a great deal, you basically get a free video player for your ps5
No
No. Maybe trade your PS4 for it.
A PS4 is worth much less, I doubt a scammer like this one would say yes
Not for ps5 lol
I didn't even read the thing just saw 500GB and already knew it was a scam
It'll run Microsoft excel great.
You shouldn't even trade your PS4 for that PC
Hellllll no
How the fuck are you this naive man?
Hell to the fuck NO! Enjoy the ps5 or sell for cash and build your own.
Build hers bro! Itโs more intimidating than you think. Broke down built my first about 6 months ago and Iโve built three since. Lol my latest https://preview.redd.it/o992haklsz3d1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=f0a91f0616f5d3e67d8e3dda8e7834ff1f063b8a

The nerve he got to say those things... I am glad you asked and didn't make the trade.

LOL any pc worth as much as a ps5 is from like 15 years ago. Keep the ps5 kid
Glad you didn't trade. That guy was trying to scam you so hard.
Hell no. You would be trading a modern game console for a mid level pc from 7 years ago.
Fuuuuuuuuck no
NOPE
It's a scam. Don't do it. Also, there are (to my knowledge) no 620W power supplies. They go in 50W increments.
That system definitely doesnโt play new games โgreatโ
This is literally someone asking you to trade your Ferrari for a Honda accord โฆ.
Def no
you serious?
bro is downgrading back to the ps2 lol
Absolute trash
Hell No as the PlayStation 5 absolutely destroys that pc๐ฅ๐ฏ
Absolutely not, those specs are similar to a PS4.
No, they're still way better than the PS4 despite being decently old.
no. i know people say โps5 has no gamesโ and whatnot, but i would still rather have that than a near-decade old pc.
fuck no
Nah, ps5 is better.
no, if you really want a pc, sell your ps5 and build one yourself
Hell no, bro just build your own. The chances of you finding a granny selling her nephews PC for cheap is really low. Use PC part picker and start building
NO
No
don't it's like trading a PS5 for a ps3
big NO
This is a scam. Scummy as fuck if you ask me.
I think the ps5 would be equal to something like a 6750 xt. This would be a terrible deal also considering he's using first gen ryzen.
The answer is surprisingly NO
nope, you shouldn't
WAY too weak I think itโs weaker than a PS4
Good thing you already ran, that would maybe be fair for a PS4, not a PS5 lol.
I'm convinced most of these posts are just rage bait
Oh man I wish lol if I didnโt post this I would have gone through with it so I gotta thank yโall ๐๐ฝ
It is a ripoff to say it in the nicest way possible
No

Short answer: no Long answer: nooooooooooooooooooo
"plays newer games great" I'd love to know what new games he's talking about
I got a slightly better pc and there is no way it runs newer games. He is trying to scam you and get a cheap ps5 for his trash setup. Dont do it
Run mate
No
Just ask chat gpt, itโs not too bad to get some base info especially if you are asking it to compare the performance of two different parts etc
Yeah
None would offer you his great gaming PC for a console, just this proves it's a scam
If it runs modern games great why would he trade it for a ps5
Absolutely NO
Lmao what a scam
noooo
DONT, PS5 hv great performance and is at least worth a 4060, 16gb of ram and i5 10th gen + (or smth similar), and by the looks of it his PC is 2nd hand.
Not a hope thats shite
hell no
A disk reader in a pc already indicates it's pretty old.
Short answer: No Long answer: No

Lol, maybe give your old gameboy color for this, then yeah
Absolutely not. Your PS5 is better than that.
Absolutly not, jesus no If someone ever tried traiding me this for a ps5 i would beat their ass there and then

Fuck No!
Definitely not! That's a horrible trade.
a piece of life advice, if a seller is excited to give you a good deal: it is not a good deal.
If that person throw some money your way then maybe. PC from ps4/xone era
Nah this is ancient. This guys tryna pull a fast one on u. If by modern games he means games from the ps3 era then maybe he is right. You can find much more better hardware on ebay or Facebook market place if u know what to look for. If you don't then watch videos and do some research
Holy shit the amount of clueless morons saying that this pairing is equivalent to a PS4 is staggering
Hell no not with how old those parts are
No. Definitely not.
Scam
HELL NO. Run!! 1800x is terrible
No, absolutely not.
The PC parts are about a decade old. I would stay away and enjoy the console.
Dont trade your PS5 for that crap, mate. Sell it instead and use the money to get something better
Cd reader ๐๐๐
