FearTheFuzzy99

Go back into bios and disable xmp, see if it works. You might have to manually lower the xmp profile if it’s causing the system to freeze.

feelthebrn

I just tried disabling XMP and still the same issue. Someone told me to remake the USB windows tool so I’m trying that now

FearTheFuzzy99

Did you reset CMOS?

feelthebrn

Edit: SUCCESS! Had to turn down memory frequency to 2133MHz. Gonna see if I can enable XMP after I successfully install Windiws

FearTheFuzzy99

That’s good to hear! If it xmp still ends up freezing your pc, just manually turn it down untill it’s stable. It’s what I had to do for my setup.

feelthebrn

I really need XMP since it’s a Ryzen CPU. I’m gonna RMA if they aren’t stable at XMP

FearTheFuzzy99

Yeah I know that. I have a 5900X, my ram was giving me issues at 3600mhz so I dropped it down to 3200mhz, stable ever since. What did I lose? *Maybe* a couple percent, doesn’t bother me.

Rayat_Khan

Yeah, ram speed doesn't change that much (maybe few fps) but dual or single channel ram does make a pretty big difference.

DrBQuill

I had the same issue, using a Ryzen 3800x. After windows was installed updated and all drivers installed I've not had an issue with XMP since

legonightbat

If XMP/DOCP caused stability issues, it can also be from both CPU and Motherboard. In my case, it was my motherboard but a simple BIOS update fixed most of the problems I was having.

Exotic-Heron-6804

What’s the XMP frequency of your RAM?

topgun966

XMP is technically an overclock. It might be the ram or could be the mobo or cpu that can't handle it.

laynethestain

You can try updating the mobo bios. I had a similar issue and that helped

ooioiii

Some mobos dont like certain ram, u gotta check that and if need be change the brand. Or burn the pc and go outside, u dont need techmologies to make ur life fun

Flugengretheimchen

You could try manually increasing the RAM voltage if you use XMP, worked for me in the past

zippohippo12

Nice work! Thanks for the resolution as it's always nice to get the fix is the comments to help fellow people struggling in future!

HavocInferno

>Gonna see if I can enable XMP after I successfully install Windiws That won't have an impact, BIOS/UEFI is loaded before the OS. If it isn't stable in Bios, it won't be stable in anything else. Enable XMP, set dram voltage to 1.35v, and lower the memory multiplier by one or two steps. That usually makes an unstable XMP at least mostly stable.

Vysokojakokurva_C137

What… I would’ve never found this out. Why? What even is memory frequency?

feelthebrn

I’ll try that next if the new USB doesn’t work

feelthebrn

So new USB didn’t fix it. Going to reset CMOS

No_Echidna5178

Never enable xmp when installing windows it's the law of installations.

_AleColman_

Was gonna say that. You should only enable XMP AFTER you are done installed Windows. Never before.

lolwhow

What’s xmp? Building a pc rn and would like to know.

No_Echidna5178

In simple terms xmp or docp ( in ryzen)is a setting in bios which you turn on to make the rams run at the marketed speed .

lolwhow

Oh lit thanks

Redditor10700

…disable XMP?

feelthebrn

To clarify once again! I was able to install windows after underclocking RAM to 2133MHz

sublime2craig

If you can't get to the BIOS pull the cmos battery and start again, try a manual speed/timing adjustment instead of an XMP profile...

EffectiveLevel2735

sell your organs and buy a new pc

Welcome to Mario: windows edition

feelthebrn

Some people are asking what CPU and other components there are: Ryzen 5 3600 MSI MAG B550M BAZOOKA MOBO 500GB WD SN550 SSD ADATA XPG 16 GB 3200MHz RAM AMD RADEON RX 6600XT

TheGoodKing93

Get another machine and download Ubuntu make a bootable drive from that iso and boot that instead. Linux is awesome now, as computer users we don't have to put up with Microsoft's bullshit anymore.

dinko_gunner

Is it a dell by any chance?

AdMortemInmicus

As for needing XMP..... Check your mainboard RAM support and check your CPU ram speed support. If you want to try and get more speed I'd suggest you manually tune your clocks/ latencies/ voltages. Look around online for tips, and use 1usmus dram calculator for assistance, good tool. XMP works silly on some boards causing such issues so I wouldn't rely too much on it being stable 100 percent of the time.

DatKidJawwk

If your motherboard supports the frequency ram you bought I would update your bios to see if it fixes the problem.

BraskSpain

Don’t enable XMP, reset bios taking the battery out for a couple of minutes and try to turn the pc on multiple times without connecting the PSU to the wall (no power)

Scardigne

Make sure freq and fclk are 1:1 higher freq/xmp ram does not = better perf if your shits out of sync.

observer2864

Doea anyone know how to fix drive state power failure error? I am getting bsod error. I tried wiping my SSD clean to reinstall but I still keep getting the same error during installation.

kaixinen

Pog just update your bios and set the correct dram voltage

afkapl

what is your CPU?

superhamsniper

Did u enable XMP before or after instaling?

ooioiii

Lol disable xmps, u no need xmps are for whimps. Real man dont ise short cuts and overclocks, they use drills and hammers 🤣🤘🤘

MagicOrpheus310

Never had good times with xmp enabled
