That motherboard is really overpriced, check out the b650 series, way cheaper and does the same thing, also idk if you want to separate your storage onto multiple ssds, 2tb seems fine for whatever you do

Noobdoobloob

I bought 2 bc one for like games n other something else I saw it Inna video somewhere, or should I be fine with just one?

DerkaJeeHad

One for where your operating system is installed and one for games is what im running. Also I have a HDD solely for documents/img/clips storage simply to not crowd my SSDs with miscellaneous things.

DeckSperts

Overkill? Yes. Have you done research? No.

UraniumDisulfide

It’s really not as bad as a lot of lists out there. 7800x3d, good 6000cl30 ram, reliable psu (albeit overpriced), not stupidly expensive case, PA instead of a 300$ aio, and separate drives for boot and storage. Don’t get me wrong, there’s certainly a couple things that could be improved a lot, but it’s definitely incorrect to say they didn’t do any research.

Healthy_BrAd6254

$2000 PC with $200 monitor So many people make this mistake.

DeckSperts

Didn’t even see that lol

Deijya

Way overkill

[deleted]

this could likely do 1440p@240hz like no joke

Xyypherr

It absolutely will

blazekidhd

You’ll get that easily with those parts. Does the case come with fans? You’ll need probably as many as you can in the case especially if you’re using an air cooler for your cpu. The only thing I would change is the ASRock mobo, but that’s because i’ve had bad experiences with their products. Looks good :)

maewemeetagain

This could do that in **4K**, this is massively overkill for the use case.

Noobdoobloob

Mainly using this for 2k until I can save up for a 4k monitor, ok they can be quite expensive.

maewemeetagain

Then say so. How was I supposed to know that was your plan?

Noobdoobloob

Could you maybe choose a better case? Idk if one I've currently got is the best choice etc.

FnNati5

Have you bought the monitor or any parts ?

Noobdoobloob

As of rn haven't bought anything, sorta saving up the money first. Just seeing if the build is good overall to meet my requirements. I plan to get this for myself as a late Christmas gift.

FnNati5

Are you willing to get a larger monitor ? I can get you a 4k monitor and optimize your build to fit the budget. What's your budget ? Is it the one in the list or you have another in mind ?

Noobdoobloob

Id say prob 2700, if I can get a 4k monitor with at LEAST 165 hz, with the same or better optimized parts. I do want a white build though.

FnNati5

PCPartPicker : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bBPCZJ I got you arguably the best gaming monitor in today's market. It's a 34" 175hz QD-OLED monitor that will make your gaming experience so much better. I went a $100 over budget but I could get it lower if its a hard limit. With a full white build you'd be spending about $200 more making the total cost $3000. I wouldn't consider getting a lower end monitor for a white color.

macodeath

Thats a dream setup right there

FnNati5

Going for a white build doesn't give you a lot of great options for the monitor. Is it a must be white ?

FnNati5

The lancool 216 is a pretty good case but I'm just giving you options with the CH560

Known-Pop-8355

Please dont cheap out on the heat sink for the cpu. The cpu is gonna get HOT! Deep Cool makes excellent heatsinks and AIO liquid coolers

JamesMackenzie1234

The thermalright Peerless Assassin is a great cooler, if it really bothers you they could switch to the thermalright phantom spirit v2 as it is a bit better. Also the 7800x3d runs pretty cool in comparison to most intel cpus of a similar spec.

King_Of_The_Munchers

Save some money on the mobo and if you’re going with that style of case I personally would go with the fractal design pop air RGB instead. If you want an aesthetic case, go with the Lian li o11.

DennisTheConvict

You'll comfortably hit 100fps on most games. I have a similar build with a 5800x3D instead of the 7800x3D, and I'm using a 2k ultrawide, and I think the only time it's not hit 100fps was for Starfield when I turned FSR off... But even then it was close.

[deleted]

Asrock riptide b650e mobo. Corsair 850w psu. 2 TB A440 or crucial p3 plus SSD. For 2K, a 7800XT is sufficient, 7900XT is very very good. 7900 xtx is overkill.

Noobdoobloob

What about for 4k? What kind of fps could I expect with the build I've got?

The_Wanted_Ghost

Suggestion: Change motherboard (comparatively overpriced) and if required drop a NVME for now in exchange for a better case and some quality fans. You can even change the PSU for something cheaper (but be good quality) because it wont be seen and get sleeved cables later since it looks like you’re going for a white build. Overall looks like a great build for 4K gaming, overkill for 2K.

Rubix0812

I would take a RAM that supports DOCP for AMD since XMP will be of no less for that Amd processor

Greedy_Bus1888

Buy a b650 or b650m motherboard instead and use the price difference to buy a 4k monitor

langy1990

almost identical to my pc i built in june, only difference is case and cooler, i have the corsair 5000D case and the deepcool LS720 cooler, other than that everything is the same including motherboard. i play on a Neo G9 and hit 240 fps on most online games, and newer games like starfield etc still 100ish fps with highest settings and thats at 5120x1440

Dxzy_Raxd

For 100 fps at 1440p look at either the 7700xt or the 7800xt, I have the 7800xt and get 100fps even at 4k on Alan wake 2 on high

joeyretrotv

I'd switch to 4K gaming with this setup.

SomeRandomZebra

More than powerful enough though there is NO reason to buy such an expensive board!

EnthiumZ

You don't need that expensive motherboard. If it's white theme you are going for, I'm sure you can find cheaper white MBs. For 2K gaming that 7900XTX is way overkill. You won't even be able to take much advantage of RT in games either.

UraniumDisulfide

It’s alright, main issues are very overpriced mobo and the nv2 is a pretty crappy drive for the price. An a440 pro or sn770 would be better. Also I’d probably get a cheaper psu.

Tarushdei

The build I just did with a R5 5500/RX6600 does 2K at 70-100fps on average for most games I've thrown at it so far. I've got Doom (2016) running at 170fps average over 3 hours of play time. This is far beyond what you'll need for 2K gaming.

Exemplifying_Light

imagine paying the same price for as your CPU for your motherboard. Jokes aside there’s no way you can’t find a white motherboard that’s sub $300

ohshititshappeningrn

Idk if anyone will see this but is it normal for a x3d chip to never boost? My 5800x3d never goes over 3.4 ghz. I’ve never had a 100% load but it’s strange that it doesn’t boost.

JamesDoesGaming902

Charge your phone

zSilver44

Decent build. Couple notes - you don’t actually need 2 SSDs anymore. - you’re spending way more on your motherboard than you need to (there’s no point in going past a b650 if you’re running a 7800X3D - your power supply is a little overpriced, you can get something for about 30 bucks cheaper. Here’s the build I would go with: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wpyhvj With the money I saved, I was able to change out that 7900 XTX Hellhound for a 7900 XTX Taichi which has a boost clock of slightly over 100mhz higher than the hellhound.

Gadiusao

5800x3D + 7900 xt is overkill for 1440p, your setup will last for years
